  • Tired of dealing with pressure, heaviness, or pain? This yoga for prolapse has exercises to relieve pelvic pressure & pain. l have you feeling better. Check in with what you are feeling with these exercises. You want to feel the connection with your breath & your core & pelvic floor. Be careful to not keep you core tight the entire time. When we keep the core engaged the entire time or hold our breath this leads to an increase in pressure in our abdomen. When there is too much pressure this can cause: leaks, pains, prolapse, ab separation, digestive issues, & more.
    Breathing is KEY!

      What's YOUR diet plan for interstitial cystitis?

      @@strongsyedaa7378 I went on the autoimmune diet for about 9 months and I now avoid milk products, caffeine, spicy foods and tomatoes. It has helped so much eliminating these. I'm working now to add foods back in to my diet and have a more normal life. It's hard though. I just had a 3 day flare that had me super stressed out. Have you had luck with diet or other treatments? The pelvic floor exercises here are so helpful. I do them daily.

      You are welcome! So glad you are enjoying the yoga videos! The key with the prolapse videos is how you are using your core and pelvic floor, the connection you are feeling with your breathing & pelvic floor, and how you are managing intra-abdominal pressure. Keep up the great work💜

    Dr Melissa, with my rectocele I can't sit crossed legged or forward bend without intense pain. A block or pillow doesn't help.
    I see a pelvic floor therapist but she didn't know what I should do.
    I hope to avoid surgery but can't even consider it for a few months.
    Would you been kind enough to give me your thoughts? I love yoga and would hate to give it up but just about every pelvic floor video seems to have sitting.
    Thanks so much,
    Susan Frisch

      Working on learning to manage intra-abdominal pressure is key. There are so many different ways to modify like having a chair near by so you can sit in the chair and do the exercises there, kneeling and sitting on heels or do another exercise you know feels good when there is one that doesn't feel good. I do this all the time in exercise classes I take modifying so it works best for my body. Here is one video that doesn't have any sitting ua-cam.com/video/URPFNiPwP-A/v-deo.html (only 1 forward fold in entire class)

    Hi! ❣️Can i ask you a question. What do you mean by "don't do big belly breaths" what's the difference?

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  Рік тому

      This is something I dive deep into in the Beyond Breathing Masterclass msunn.samcart.com/products/breathing-masterclass The goal is to learn how to manage intra-abdominal pressure. Too much pressure can lead to leaks, pains, prolapse, digestive issues and more. Big belly breaths increase intra-abdominal pressure. Not that belly breaths are bad in general however is you are struggling with pelvic floor dysfunction they are not ideal. p

    Is this good for all the different types of prolapse? Good for both rectocele and cystocele?

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  11 місяців тому

      Yes, great question! The key is how you are doing the exercises and what you are feeling while doing them. Learning how to use your core and pelvic floor system and manage intra-abdominal pressure with these movements is important.
