I did indeed put the bolt back in but then I changed my mind. My concern was it working loose and causing a catastrophic failure. The bolt served no purpose with the mag safety removed so I have left it out. Good question.
I don’t have one but thanks for showing that! I have a buckmark and that stupid mag disconnect bs malfunctions then even mag in still triggered the stupid “safety,” until I learned how to remove that, it runs flawlessly! Duck the mag disconnect!
Magazine disconnects aren’t safety features. They’re unconstitutional requirements that drive costs up to price Californians out of purchasing new guns.
You can also remove the guys from the mag body and insert it into the gun. Same outcome and no need for gun disassembly just to place the disconnect back in when your done with dry fire practice
@@SIGnationshootersandfeaturesI spent some time on the phone with Sig. Funny thing is they're not sure of the part number either but they're shipping me a new spring this week. If it's the correct spring I'll verify that here as well. Right now the alleged part number is 1700104-R. The one that was shipped with my gun is defective...it's a couple mm's too small so it keeps popping out of place...maybe that's a good thing haha.
I was having trouble finding the part. I was going to suggest contacting SIG. just as you have! If the spring gives your grief, you could always remove the mag disconnect? Just a thought. Thanks for follow up!
@@SIGnationshootersandfeaturesturns out that's not the correct part number...they sent me a conventional spring for some other function under that p/n. Looks like I'll be removing the disconnect as you suggest!
Each time you rack the slide back to engage the trigger for a dry fire, the empty mag will not allow the slide to go forward. You will need to use the slide lock/release lever every time you bring the slide back. That is what makes the mag safe inconvenient.
was the intro post-removal since you "fired" without a mag in? or this this show that any safety feature of a firearm is not to be depended upon because of failure
You are correct. The intro was filmed after I had removed the magazine safety. The reason for that is so I could present a “clean” removal during filming. Most people don’t appreciate fumbling through a process during a video. I will easily admit I took much longer in my practice runs at the mag safety removal. Btw. Good observation. Not many people catch that. Great question!
While it is possible to remove the manual safety on the M18, there are some things to consider before doing so. You will need a new grip module as the removed safety mechanism will leave a significant void. The good news is you have several choices now as to grip module size for your modified FCU. The biggest consideration in this instance is this M18 doesn’t belong to me and the owner wanted to keep the manual safety. If you choose to go forward and remove, I would suggest you get someone with armorer skills as this modification is a bit more tricky and involves the trigger nomenclature
so I'm assuming you put the screw/bolt back, why did you skip that?

I believe we are all better off without magazine safety devices.
My man, MV, my man.
Hope this is helpful. Happy shootin'!!!
Oh... I just realized.... Nish!!!! Thanks buddy.

I agree with your argument. We have a long way to go in CA.
@@SIGnationshootersandfeatures sure do! Unfortunately the 9th circuit continues to save CA.
True. But there are some surprising gains coming here and there

That sounds interesting. What are the “guys” on the mag body?
Do you have the part number (or some other designation) for the mag disconnect spring?
Not immediately. Let me check the nomenclature for the P320 and get back here

@XBKLYN I think you will be happy with that decision. Cheers!
What would happen if I dry fire it for practice with an empty mag inside? Would it affect anything

Can you remove the manual safety next
