  • In this video I am showing you the Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolour paints - how do they compare with traditional Western watercolours?

    Paper used:
    Bockingford watercolour block cold pressed (please note this is a slightly different pad from the one use as I couldn’t find it anymore. This one is 300 gsm and has only 12 sheets and slightly different measurements: tidd.ly/3AjoFdA

    Hi! Little thing about the watercolors are that they are not nomal watercolors but japanese as you also said.
    that means they have a diffrent binding medium and the paint are not really meant to be mixed with eachother as the can become muddy and they do not work in the same way as normal watercolors but popular is used when painting post cards . I still often mix one or two colors when i paint and do not really notice it becoming muddy. I find that they can dry glossy if it is a thick layer of paint.

      Hi Elliiior - thanks for your comments. I will probably use them more like gouache colours. I have just finished trying out Roman Szmal watercolours - and plan a video for January. They are gorgeous watercolours made in Poland.
