This new "version" with Floor turned a song that originally sounded like pop music into something that really feels like metal. I'm sure Tuomas has the same opinion, this change had his and the other member's approval. You notice they even added a longer "breakdown" at 2:40 which feels more like metal.
That breakdown is there since 2007 Anette's era. Grow up. Voice style doesn't make a song "metal" , It's the music. Go and check "The dark element"; Anette's new band; they are havier than Nightwish nowdays.

The reason they made this song more metal, is because that compliments Floors voice better, due to her not being super well versed in the quicker pop vocals that was Anettes expertise, it is pretty obvious.
I think it's more of an issue with the microphone. The crowd is clearly into it judging by how much movement there is. Not to mention you can hardly hear Floor half the time, and I don't think that's an issue on her part. If the microphone settings or the sound mix are off, that would explain both.

And again, compare this performance to others (even from the same tour in '15) and you can clearly hear that the ead singer barely audible in this compared to other recordings. You can only hear her clearly when she's going at full power. A properly set up mic should pick up her voice even at smaller decibel numbers, so that she can use some variety. So there are definetly settings off there. Not to mention: What is "like a mother giving baby food" even supposed to mean? I've yet to see a mother feeding her baby like that.

not an awful singer, but the wrong singer. Think of it like this. If Freddie Mercury was the lead vocalist for Metallica would it sound good? no! but hes a good singer. IF Annette was strictly a rock vocalist I think shed do just fine, but symphonic metal is not her forte.
Floor Jansen has a beautiful voice. Sadly it is lost here in an attempt to get the audience to sing. The audience could never approach what her voice is capable of. Try to get the audience to sing so you do not have to, is a cop out. I get that this is a live show and audience participation might be a thing, but, seriously, seriously? I want to hear Floor's version of Amaranth, not the audience's. Annette Olzon's version of this song is the one I will remember not Floor's.

Flor is fucking amazing.. She knows her vocals. Her voice gave a darker theme to this masterpiece and it's better than Annette's version imo.
