Cheap needle files from harbor freight work great for this! The HF clamps work great and last a long time, and if they ever loosen up... hit them with a file really fast. Good tip! Not everyone has needle files.
I use my dremel tool with a cut off wheel to do the same thing. Since there is a large adjustment with the screw on the clamp, I just make a cut every 1/2" or so. Good video, never thought of using a saw.
It worked in one clamp, and when I searched for another one that slides, to record a video ... I could't find one 😩. I know I have at least another two cheap clamp with the same problem, but I don't know where they are 😞
Woodworking with DIY tools opportunity for another video. It would be more impressive if you sanded it smooth, then hacksaw to show how well it works. This is an opportunity!
Hello, I plan to buy some tools to start doing things in wood, things for home, beds and simple furniture for example, the query I wanted to ask you is if you know the oscillating multipurpose tool, also called oscillating multitool that brings pointers for sanding, to make cuts, etc, I do not know if I buy (apart from a circular saw) a multitool of those that I mention or a jig and a sander, I hope you can help me, thanks
I think a triangular file would be easier to use than a hacksaw. But since we are talking about cheap clamps, I think it is a better use of my time to buy a new clamp instead of spending a lot of time cutting new grooves. Then I can spend my time woodworking instead of repairing cheap clamps!

Simple and easy way to revive old tired worn out clamps. 👌
Good on you mate. 👍
Very good. Some of my clamps need this too. Thanks for showing.
I had this problem in some of my cheap clamps. But after some fix I can use them 😃
Fantastic fix, thank you!
I've done it with a small electric cutting disk and it works just fine. Thanks!
I find it easy to use a small cold chisel and hammer to deepen the little grooves a bit. It doesn't need much. Cheers
I will have to do this on my clamps too. They don't work so well anymore. Thanks for this great tip, this will save me a lot of money.
Marvellous! Great video.
Thank you, this is really helpful
Maybe it is not something we would do to fancy brand clamps, but it is worth a try if we have this problem in cheap clamps. Thanks for watching

If I only have to fix one or two clamps, a hand saw is perfect 😃. If we have to fix bunch of clamps, sure an electric tool will help
Thanks!
Great idea, thank you!
Brilliant
I've been thinking of doing this for years, but you didn't show us how well it works now! Still, thumbs up buddy!

@@Creator_Nater, an opportunity; but also faking it! I like these videos for being straight forward and honest. I can do what goes on here too.
Jonathan Ford Oh I don't mean to hide it, he could do it on screen. It's more extreme to completely remove the divids 👍🏻
I think you just saved many some money as I guess most just throw these away and buy new. Cheers for that simple but useful tip !!
Thank you Barry. Luckily good clamps don't have this problem
Thank you for sharing this simple but usefull trick.
Clever trick

Hi, I have never used a multitool. But I can say an orbital sander helps a lot 😃
It looked like the threads in the nut are worn out so the head is calming are the wrong angle instead of pivoting where it needs to it is pushing
Just a 100-grid sandpaper to roughen the surface will improve the grip even without any grooves and takes fraction of time.
I'll try, but these cheap clamps need a very rough bar surface to grab the mobile jaw
I just did all of my clamps. Thank you!
porque no mas en español?
Este es mi canal en Inglés. Los vídeos en Español están en mi otro canal. En "Enredando No Garaxe" 😃 Un saludo
More easy to use a Dremel or similar
Good tip. 👴🏻🇦🇺

😃 Maybe because they are so cheap, I prefer to fix them. Just to be sure I didn't waste my money when I bought so cheap clamps 😂😂😂
