5% looks good on a sunny day but you can’t see shit at night. I’ve personally found 15% to be a much better balance of privacy and visibility.
busa89 good news since I'm getting my car done in 15 in a few days
s Smit just don't get tickets left and right!
Privacy? What are you doing that required no one see you?
broderp picking his nose 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@broderp you like people staring inside your car?
It's insane how bright it appears on the inside compared to the outside

haha yes!
Window Tinting Business I went with 15% all around except windshield (5% windshield strip) on my f150. Its just right for me because from the outside you can barely see inside and its still visable at night when driving.
chrisdsltech give your give me your window tint baby let me tint you up.
When you're 24K that's what you gotta do :)
chrisdsltech ?
I put 5% all around before our family trip from New York to Florida. We drove the first 500 miles at night then the rest during the day. We ended up back in New York because my wife couldn’t see the freakin road signs.
🤣 🤣 🤣
Lol
That means your wife is blind as a f****** bat
Your wife suck and shouldn't drive lmfaoo. Jk but really lmfaoo

Thanks Patrick. Great to see amazing people with great talent in our industry sharing their knowledge and experience for others to enjoy and learn from. #Winning

Cool video, I have 15 on all my vehicles but thinking about 5% for my next Explorer... one thing I’ll suggest is doing the same video except in outdoor and sunny conditions.. if people haven’t had tint before I think many would be surprised at how much more light and transparent the windows are outside during the day... with this video 30% actually looks pretty dark but 30% basically has zero privacy during the day..
30% has enough privacy to allow you to pick your nose without having people three cars away pointing giggle.
What are you doing in your car that needs 5% tint?
It doesn't matter, it's my car. Is the response.
Yep, and you're a magnet for the police to pull over and unholster as the approach a dark tinted vehicle
???? Are we out here gate keeping car tint layers? Really man?
@@saintpetersburg5818cry more
Yeah, I just got 15% all around, and 50% on the windshield (all XPEL Ceramic) yesterday and I've been kind of disappointed bc it's not nearly as dark as I was expecting. Definitely going to have to go down to 5% and 35% shield next time. Shame tho, going to stick with this for a while since it was $650
I got 5% tints on my windows and now all I see out my side windows is a reflection of the interior of the car. Not good
it ain’t that bad
You probably put the tint on the wrong way.
What did you think was gonna happen homie 😂😂
😭😭🤣
You literally installed a mirror on your windows lol.
The 30 looks very dark. Why didn't you do this outside under the sun? That would have been a much better real world look at the tint.
he's not a professional
J Cut LMFAOOOOOOO
Yeah I know. My 20 tint looks darker than the 15....
yea is there a reason why 30 looks so dark?? Been looking at tint and some are darker than others is there a reason why or type of tint it is??
broderp I got 30% all around for my car and my friends always say it looks like I didn’t even tint them.
Its very hard to do this comparison with a gopro/cellphone style camera because they often dont allow for manual shutter, ISO and aperture, The camera automatically adjust with the lower light levels making it look as if the same/similar amount of light is being let in. You do a great job of working around this problem by having the driver side window, and the un tinted windshield in the same frame, and with the 5% tint you can see the camera struggling to set exposure for both the 5% and the 100%
this
great video to let people know how the tint looks from the inside. keep up the great work.
Thanks for the s/o ! We greatly appreciate it and keep up the great work with everything. Look forward to linking up in the future. #Winning
This was extremely helpful since I’m about to get my windows tinted
30% all day for me. I had 5% and was pulled over by cops and searched on the reg. As an adult in their 40's it gets really old really fast. A little bit of tint vs a lot of tint goes a long ways.
And if you ever get pulled over for another reason you will get an illegal tint ticket on top of the original one.
Yup just actually got 30% on my wrangler and its darker then I expected. Looks good.
squid
Getting my VW tinted today. Same boat, mid 40's and not looking to draw that attention. Dude you just talked some sense into me, lol, now going to do 30% instead of 20%.
I mix. 50 front windshield. 15 sides/doors. 30 back windshield. Works perfectly. Might drop to 15 on back windshield.. might be too dark at night.
One thing everyone forgets to mention is privacy inside the vehicle is increased when covering ALL windows with tint. If you leave say just the front windshield at stock then it’s way easier to see inside the car even from the other tinted windows, whereas if the front is also tinted then it’s much more difficult to see in even with only 15 or 30% tints
I love 5% I have it on my black Altima coupe it’s not hard to see at night unless I’m doing a turn I just simply roll the window down.
it’s ridiculously hard to find this exact video anywhere else on the internet. thank you for this! so helpful.
Hey mate what kind of tint is that? Looks nice. I'm trying to decide whether I want carbon, ceramic or nano ceramic tint. I kinda like the matte finish that the carbon has.
Hi just wanted to ask at evening what would be the visibility 30 %
I agree when you first started it didn't look like there was anything on the windows outside next
after watching this, I think my ute has 15% on everything behind the driver(legally can only go 35% on front doors)
But you still have to stick your face up to the rear doors and canopy to see whats inside
Thank you
It’s clear from many angles. Good review
I agree I had 15% and it was dark enough. In the city where you have plenty of street lights you might be able to see at night without rolling down the windows, But in the country ain't no street lights. I had to roll down my windows to see. So I say yes to 15% its plenty dark. Can't imagine trying to drive at night with 5%. Also I was never stopped for my tint, in South Carolina.
From South Carolina also getting tinted 15% at the moment ,good to know that sc doesn’t really pester you about tint
If your tinting yourself go 5% all the way around but driver side 20% 👌🏽!
Just trying to follow the laws of florida. I have an SUV, and they say the back windows have to have more than 6% of light and no more than 35% reflectiveness. So what is the darkest i could legally go?
can you tell the difference on any % from ceramic versions
and basic
5% on all the back and 15 on the front two windows with window strip on the shield for me. It damn near makes the front two look 5% from the outside but can still see mirrors.

From the inside, that 30% is barely noticeable. Being in a sunny state of AZ, higher than 20% VLT is ineffective at reducing glare and heat inside.
Dude this is the most informative video I found for that subject. Thanks a lot :D you made me decide the % ;)
This makes me think about when I bought 5% from a auto store not knowing what I was doing😩my friend put it on and OMG😂It was soooo DARK!!!!! You couldn’t see a thing💯😂
Very helpful and informal. Gives me an idea of what tint i want.
Hey Patrick yesterday i was tinting a straight rear window on a 2017 f-250, everythin went well and clean but as I hard tooled the 1/2" dot matrix along the side of the window my film wouldn't stick. I've been told elmers and scotch glue, but the dot matrix isnt much at all. Maybe i should've sanded the dot matrix?
+Ryan Flores make sure to use a good scrub pad. Could have been oils or something to make it shine. Or you slip solution could have been too soapy. You could always try steel wool also triple zero works best for me. Thanks for watching and good luck!
Window Tinting Business thanks Patrick I remixed my slip and lowered it a bit, also used a blue scrubby pad and it finally stuck! Iv never had an actual instructor so Id like to think you and Ralph van pelt are my instructors bro. Thanks for the tips man
Am I blind or it all looks the same? Why wasn't this done outside?
I think he's using automatic exposure on his camera, which will always normalize for a certain level of luminosity on the sensor. It will make anything darker "appear" lighter, so it always looks around the same. You'd need manual exposure to really see the differences.
I am thinking ceramic tint 70 windshield, 35 front two windows, 25-30 back two windows and back windshield. It's not about privacy, it's about heat reduction.
Do 35% all around (classy look) and 70 windshield. It won’t give you privacy but it will do the job with keeping heat out
It would have been better to view in natural light
My 30 does not look that dark outdoors
question. I'm new to this. Does the percentage mean how much light is blocked out, or how much is let in?
The VLT (visible light transition) represents the amount of light it allows through.
Just go 5% back .....15% front 2 windows....5% up at the windshield strip 👍 .....like my car 😏
how much did that cost for you to do if u don't mind?

@@user-xl4pb5wo1g I think I'm gonna go 15 on front 2 windows then 5 on back 2 and 5 on rear glass thanks man!
Liked the video but you made one critical mistake.
You had the camera set to Automatic, so it adjusted the aperture to compensate for the light changes. As you watch the 5% demo it is clearly demonstrated that the camera is keeping the final video at the same brightness. I wish you would do this over with the camera in full manual mode so that we can actually see how dark it really is.
I have a 5% tint in the back of my car, its pretty damn dark, barely drivable in the night and its only on the back.
yeah I tried to compensate for that by showing the difference in light between the nontinted front windshield and the tinted door window. I did try and just set the light adjustment but when I get in the car with 5% you literally couldn't see me, its not that dark in real life so I figured the auto light adjust was the best route for the video.
@@WindowTintingBusiness I just saw this video, I'm VERY thankful for the tint comparison as I'm getting ready to get my front windows tinted. I unfortunately just tried to do a 30% and it failed due to my lack of experience, none the less this is a great comparison but I think for you to get the best effect possible so people can see a side by side comparison you may want to tint one window with all 3 tints then the camera won't be able to compensate for all of them.
You'd have to do it on a vehicle obviously so that you can show the inside and outside view, none the less I am thankful for the comparison.
Can I get stop by having a 35 frontside window
Where do you get 30% tint
Do you A review for night time driving with the tint on I want 30 right now I have 35
How big of a difference is it at night for outward visibility 10% vs 15%? Getting mine done in two days and I'm not sure which one to go with
what’d you end up going with? i’m considering the same thing
@@jaycrzy5737 I went with 15%. 10% is way too risky especially at night. 15 is more than dark enough. I think it's perfect
I would suggest taking a photo of each VLT level by setting camera parameters such as ISO, aperture, exposure fixed so that the image captured will be consistent from highest to lowest tint vlt level as compared to video the camera will automatically adjust the exposure of the image whenever it is pointed to lighter or darker side.. However, I found this video very informative.
Thanks for the video. Getting tints done today but couldn't decide on a percentage. Are these ceramic or regular tints? How great of a difference is there?
Sorry but I read “getting tits done today...”
Love this UA-cam channel, you guys have come a long way since you all started this channel!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate the kind works ❤️
I’m gonna skip all the windows and just throw 5% down the front windshield. 😎
It would be nice to see what it looks like outside in bright sunlight
Few questions for you, what % of tint is legal on everything? Also where are you located? Have been looking for someone to tint my windows.
depends the state that you live in.
Nevada law let's me get that 35% front, 5% back 3 pretty good considering what California has lol
Is 30% tint the same as 70% visibility?
Since my vision is horrible! I’m gone get 15 on my doors. 20 on back windshield & 20 visor strip in the front.
Would love to see this same comparison in and out view at night as well as with interior lights on and off
Here's another video showing what 15% Window tint looks like from the inside. ua-cam.com/users/shortskAgAOo3LuV4
Thx. Getting tint on the 28th. Going with 15
Eyyy getting tints on the 28th as well. 15% too
Most states permit 35%
15% or 5% is usually limo passengers.
On a standard passenger vehicle 15% or 5% are referred to as "get shot" tint.
That's because an officer walking up to a heavily tinted window is more likely to snap the holster or tilt release their sidearm for quick draw access.
If a cop can't see into your vehicle as he approaches he has no idea what's behind the glass waiting for him
That is why you will find the cop with his hand on his holster ready for a quick draw.
this is why you roll down all your windows when a cop comes up to your car
Always wondered how tint looks from the inside. I noticed it looks darker outside than inside. Thanks for video.
Stuart worthchild Belavini 3rd yea me too
That is the point of it
5% rear half or 35% all around?
My first car was a 2000 Camry with what i was told was 5% tints... needless to say, shit was done inside that horse 😂😂
😂😂
shit man back in 2004 dude I was 20 and my gf at the time had a 1998 Camry. No tints, but shit was definitely done inside that horse! Camry's are great sex cars.
ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM I tinted my 09 Nissan Rogue 5% all the way around and I literally can't even see inside any of the back windows but the passenger door and driver door window you can see only the steering wheel and dash. Is this because more light is comin in from the front window? I feel like I was told I got 5% but didn't.
you are correct. because your front windshield is not tinted it is letting more light in from the front making the front to windows to appear lighter. your back windows would look exactly the same if you did not have your rear windshield tinted.
Yoooo this in Virginia! I’ve had my windows done there multiple times and Virginia Beach or Norfolk. I can’t remember.
i will cut thru all the BS
-ceramic is the highest performing tint available now BUT needs specialized experience to install (not like other tints)
-many shops dont have the skill level to install ceramic CORRECTLY
-so i recently had Huper Optik's Xtreme Optiks installed on new car...only 15 percentage points less infrared (IR) blockage (aka heat rejection) than ceramic...all other specs like UV, etc are similar if not the same
-15 pct points is not that big enough diff to pay 200 bucks MORE for ceramic (but moreso, someone inexperienced might be the installer)
-paid around $300 for a 4door sedan. 35% on all 4 doors and 20% on back window (looks clean; cant tell diff % tint)
- huper optiks is the best tint imo. german company; do your own research
-get your tint at a company that will stay in biz...your install warranty is nothing if they go bankrupt n shutdown
-fyi, privacy glass from factory often does not block heat or IR, UV, etc
Glad I found this channel. Good stuff
I just bought a Toyota Corolla SE 2019 with tints but I cant tell if they are 20% or 15% only around noon or when the atmosphere is dark I cant see through it but during day I can see through but not that vaguely
Tint...15 and 20 are so close it will always be hard to tell them apart.
Look at the lower right part of your driver window. It will say what percentage you have there.
What’s the legal tint
Awesome video! very informative 👏
Thank you!
Which is more darker 5,% or 30% I am confused secondly it should be in the sun so we can figure it out but very nice video
The percentages represent the amount of light it lets in, so the lower the number the darker the film is. I’m working on a follow up video to this video to have better comparisons
I hate my tint laws, 45% max on the front passenger and drivers windows but luckily everything behind can be as dark as possible, so I've got 5% on the very back and it makes the front look like it's not even tinted at all
In my country you can't put anything at all on the windshield or front door windows.
I started with 5 kinda blah. Decided on my new truck I would go darker, so 2% it is. All the way around, its definitely dark but looks flawless and havent had any cop issues here in Michigan with it ..so far
Sean Jackson u fuckin crazy lol
I live out in Mason, MI
Plan I’m getting 5 all around and 20 on the shield for my car. I here cops are relaxed here anyway
Will Rain-X or water repellant products wear down the window tint?
The window tint is installed on the inside so nothing you out on the outside will effect it. Just watch for ammonia based products
Love this video very informative
SUCH A GREAT VIDEO!
Just got 5 percent except the front and back of the car. Had to drive it with the windows up for 30 miles in the afternoon. I would have laughed if I got pulled over a couple minutes after I had just taken it out of the shop. In California i can probably get away with it on the freeway but If it rains I’m probably screwed.
I used to always get 5 or 10% in Cali while I was in high school. I had more than 8 fix it tickets. Racking up 1000s of dollars. Haha I'd never get away with that in LA it's 35%. I'm in Colorado now it's 27%. I miss the10% but not worth it so hard to see and youre a cops reason to tag you.
@Windowtintingbusiness I have a question so I live in Nebraska and just bought window tint film from Walmart and it's 35% VLT a lot of sites tell me 35% VLT or more is legal in Nebraska. Is that true?
Get rid of it, Walmart tint is trash breh
Is 5% on the side windows in the back and 20% on the back window a good idea?
I live in Denmark where it is illegal to have tint on the windshield and side windows at the driver seat.
that is a relative question. What looks dark to may look light to you. All I can say is if you think it looks good and is safe then it should be good to go.
I would recommend doing this outside since that is where you usually drive cars lol ;-).
Glad I watched this video.
I currently have 5% on top of my 20% in the back (had 20% all around but kept getting pulled over) so took the 2 passenger off and doubled the backs 🤣 fuck 12 still got it darker than I wanted

The auto Iris on the camera makes the interior pan shots an ineffective comparison because the camera is always adjusting to the available light.

I have 30% tint on my Challenger. It's dark enough that other drivers can only see my figure but not any of my facial features. Another advantage is you can see out at night and another advantage is cops won't annoy you about it. My roommate has 15% on his Jeep and you really can't see shit at night.

The lower the number the darker the film. The number represents the amount of light it lets through. VLT = Visible Light Transmission
