It is unequal combat, but I cannot give up and I must try my utmost to diminish the destruction that fire causes. It is not always possible to quickly extinguish the fire, but at least we prevent people's property from being destroyed.
I know this is an old video, but this is an expertly flown chopper, I've watched and seen many things done but this takes my breath away..... I kept saying "whoa, that's low...." And given all of the variables and other circumstances created by fires, this is downright amazing. Great job Mario, and yes, water is paid for, but given it's so widely available, why do we even bother? It's free from a local river, stream or lake..... And I'm speaking to those concerned about the "legality" of taking water from a pool.... My way of saying "what's more important, the pool, or the house?"
California fires reach dire and destructive dimensions. I think it takes more strategy than water. I do not understand how much destruction of houses occurs with so many means of combat involved.

This a man and a flying machine at one. Skill level is over 9000 👏🏼
Needs more water and a bigger bucket looks like he was fighting a losing battle.
It is unequal combat, but I cannot give up and I must try my utmost to diminish the destruction that fire causes. It is not always possible to quickly extinguish the fire, but at least we prevent people's property from being destroyed.
@@MarioMineiroAviator yeah I figured that was what you would've been thinking as I was thinking the same while watching your video.
@@Freeknickers24 Thanks for your comments. Regards!
Mario Mineiro you're a real hero man blessings , cheers !
More water and a bigger bucket = more weight and less manoeuvrability
I know this is an old video, but this is an expertly flown chopper, I've watched and seen many things done but this takes my breath away..... I kept saying "whoa, that's low...." And given all of the variables and other circumstances created by fires, this is downright amazing. Great job Mario, and yes, water is paid for, but given it's so widely available, why do we even bother? It's free from a local river, stream or lake..... And I'm speaking to those concerned about the "legality" of taking water from a pool.... My way of saying "what's more important, the pool, or the house?"
James Armes thanks for comment! 👍
Very impressed. Are you still flying?
Yes. Every time I can ;).
Thanks for your comment. Regards!
Mario Mineiro you’re amazing. Be safe and thank you for what you do.

This Gopro angle is the coolest ive ever seen on a helicopter :o
Thanks for your comment. It is an unusual place to fix the GoPro, but as you say it captures fantastic images. Regards!
That is so impressive

Nice work Mario!
i think more pits like that should be made in california. they can catch rain water to hold for the fire seasons.
California fires reach dire and destructive dimensions. I think it takes more strategy than water. I do not understand how much destruction of houses occurs with so many means of combat involved.
@@MarioMineiroAviator with them being a recurring theme each year one would have guessed they'd have gotten better at dealing with it by now. If one were to blame politics, they certainly couldn't blame the party that's been such a minority in that state unless they have no accountability.
@@Billy_Darley one has to assuem its a monetary problem. People can work for free but buying and maintaining a helicopter for standby fire fighter missions if quite the investment for a single persone. It dosent help that Trump throws around blame instead of talking about solutions.
@@Ithzzz ok trump has nothing to do with a problem that has existed decades longer than hes been the president but you are a dumb fuck libtard that will never grasp that concept so fuck off with your dumb self. #mute
@@Billy_Darley wow you sure know how have a conversation.
It is a pleasure to see you work!
I have heard that this isn't really hard on the helicopter at all. /sarc
it's not easy especially when he flies through the smoke
In this type of operation the bucket suspension cable is very short (about 3 meters) so for water discharge to be effective in some situations it is necessary to fly very low and through the smoke, without entering it, looking for priority discharge sites. usually lines of fire approaching houses, as was the case in this situation. But, I' am always recognizing the place for obstacles.
Thanks for your comment. Regards!!
I believe op is referring to the actual wear and tear on the aircraft as opposed to level of difficulty.
@@alexpfilbert could be seen both way I guess
