my 2018 raptor has some staining on the fender flares somehow. maybe ceramic coating and detailer sprayed chemicals on them. I need to repaint mine as well. do I need to use the putty and sand as much if im repainting over stains and not scratches or deep cuts in the flares?
If you take a look at a 2021 F150 on our website, you'll find the Raptor bumper color near the bottom of the page: touchupdirect.com/touch-up-paint/ford/f-150/#pf-year=2021 Yes, I don't know why there would be any difference between the front and rear bumper? You may notice a slight color difference from the plastic fender flares compared to the steel bumpers, but that's apparent on the truck from the factory.
It somewhat depends. If you are Priming the entire flare, then figure 1 Kit per flare. You'll have extra, but 1 Kit will likely not be enough for 2. If you re not Priming and just painting over existing paint, 1 Kit will paint multiple flairs.
I did the same thing to my truck, I am trying to figure out exactly what to order. From what I gather I need Ford J7 Touchup Paint and the FC05 Clear coat?
Yes, exactly. Sorry, we haven't bundled them together online. Here's the links, FC05 matte clear would be the best: touchupdirect.com/shop/accessories/automotive-clear-coats/matte-clear/ touchupdirect.com/shop/touch-up-paint/ford-magnetic-metallic-j7/ We have seen a lot of slight color variations of the J7 on fender flares for some reason, so I'd recommend doing both flares on the side of the truck so that you do not notice any mild color differences. But I only painted the the rear on mine and nobody ever noticed, even the person who bought it.
FC05 seems to be the best. But be careful when you spray it, the matte finishes are very easy to make too shiny or too dull depending on how far you hold the can from the fender flare (further away = more matte finish). Be sure to test the color on something first so that you have some guidance.
Great video! Saved me a ton of money over buying new flares or going to a body shop.

No, the putty is only to repair deep scratches. It sounds like you just need to scuff them flairs and repaint them.
May I ask if it will be good for my 2021 gen3 Raptor? And is it also work with front and rear bumper? Thank you

How many fenders can this kit fix?

@@urithatcher8950 my flares have chemical stains on them somehow. would a couple of these kits work to cover the flares?
@@IsaacConover Sure, you could scuff and repaint them doing pretty much exactly as the video shows.

What putty brand do you use
We used our own: touchupdirect.com/shop/accessories/auto-motorcycle-paint-preparation/scratch-and-chip-putty-automotive-repair-filler/
Which matte finish did your use? FC01 FC02 FC03? Flat, matte, egg?
