If I were to do it all again I would spend all that time I spent cutting weight and spend it on learning technique. As for the weight, I would shrink my body down preseason and then go up one weight class by eating, lifting, and good cardio. It's just so hard to peak at the end of the season if you are constantly cutting weight. I would even change teams if it meant I had to wrestle at a specific weight. I felt unstoppable when I had energy but when I had a hard cut I lost to people I shouldn't have. Moral of my story, finding a good weight for you would be my priority.
So I’m at 12% body fat rn I’m cutting from 152-145, minus my water weight I’m around 148, so I’ll usually just skip meals to make weight, but it kills my energy and tips on how to keep my energy up for duels
You may have to skip some full meals in the afternoon the day of Wayans but definitely eat a few little snacks to keep your metabolism and blood sugar up
I do not just for tiny meals protein for times a day vegetables two times a day fruit two times today keep your calories probably for most of us around 1700 work your ass off don’t eat past 630 or seven don’t drink past 830 way and every morning when you wake up don’t overthink any of this
I have a 12 year old wrestling at 65lbs (he's a pretty small kid). 65 is easy until it's not. We have districts coming up and he's currently around 68. I want to help him in the safest way possible... thoughts for the younger, smaller kids?
I had a nutritionist tell me it was fine as long as I took that 150 cal off of my daily total probably not the best thing to do but one soda every few days if it keeps you on track not a bad thing
I learned so much. Thanks!!
I'm weighing in tomorrow morning and I am 6 lbs over. Epsom can't bath tonight and sweat suit hill runs at sunrise. Spitting in the bottle, too!
How does one eat while not awake?

Any more examples of lighter foods to eat closer to weigh-ins?
Cereal. Very litttle milk. Toast. Toasted bagel. Seriously can get a little food scale & use that.

How many calories should a wrestler eat a day while cutting?
Depends on the size. Generally 1200 - 2,000 per day. Better ideas online via google search!

Do not drink soda
