She’s such a good big sister ❤Her heart was so hurt to see him with a naked belly and surgical scar. He absolutely adores her and she’s never had such kitty attention. She’s had cats tolerate her but not use her as a jungle gym. Such patience!
Praying for Stuart and a speedy recovery. I'm glad you had a reminder for everyone about needles and pets. I purchased a magnet with a handle to sweep the area, and my fur babies don't go in the craft/sewing room. Emergency trips are frightening for parents of fur babies.

It was an utter nightmare. When they took him for X-rays you know they strap him to a board or hold him down. He came back with a shocked look. He asked me right away if we could go home now. I said we had to wait for the doctor to read his pictures and I didn’t know if he could come home or stay with the doctor. He literally gave me a worried look, gave himself a bath and argued a bit about wanting to go home. Thought my heart would break leaving him there for surgery. Such a tiny thing undergoing something so dangerous. He seems to be bouncing back and eating ravenously ❤

He’s acting so normal that we’re slowly decreasing his pain med. He hates it and still has an antibiotic 😢He’s a good patient all said and done
OH NO Stuart! My pity Harly did this, but I had no clue it happened until I took him for a walk, and he did his business, then I noticed that he had something hanging so I helped him finish. Then I saw it was a string of thread with a needle at the other end. Yes, he was able to pass it through he's system luckily without any eternal damage, Thats when the door on my craft/sewing room door remained close at all times.
I have scrabble tiles too, when my littles were learning to spell their names, we used them. Then once they mastered the spelling, I cut Christmas ribbon and glued the tiles that spelt their names on the ribbon and made ornaments to hang on the Christmas tree. They love to see their special ornaments on the tree each year.

As I age I was second guessing myself (denial mode🫤)
OMG! After seeing the X-ray, I hugged my cat so tight he squealed at me! Also, I took a trip up to Camp Wool last week! I wanted to move in! At one point I sat down on the floor in the cross stitch room surrounded by patterns trying decide which came home. I think I’m going to sign up for a wool appliqué class. Followed that with a stop at Mardens where I got some scissors and buttons, then to the beach in Wells before heading home to New Hampshire. What a wonderful day!

I’m so glad Stewart is recovering. I have gotten out of bed to recheck a rug with a magnet and head lamp type flash light to search for a missing needle. My dog ate a skein of wool when she was teething. I stayed up for almost 2 days waiting to see if she could pass it. Our vet wasn’t too worried and she did pass it on her own. I was out after dark with the aforementioned head lamp on poop patrol to confirm the wool delivery. What we do for our beloved fur babies!!
We may be related. ❤I have created devices for catching urine and for our older pup would put his towels in the dryer if he was out to do business in rain or snow. We do whatever is needed❤

That must have been awful! I know some dogs are crazy for rocks and it’s hard to break them off their addiction to them. 😢We are watching Stuart like hawks!👍🏼

So glad Stewart’s surgery went well. I feel your pain! One of my kitties years ago swallowed a bunch of thread. He wasn’t doing well. I got him to the vet asap. They found thread coming out the other end. 😳 They immediately did surgery. It was touch and go if he would make it or not. I am happy to report he recovered nicely. That taught me to be more diligent with thread. Good thing cats have 9 lives, right? They need each and every one of them. 😊 Abby missed her buddy.
😮Seems it’s more common than we thought! What a nightmare. Stuart seems to be working on his 9 lives so we’re reviewing a 16 page pet insurance policy for consideration until he grows a brain. Currently Stuart is torturing Abby by attacking her tail and running off. These two❤

I am glad Stuart is doing well after his surgery. My daughter has a standard poodle and two years ago he broke his hip. His hip replacement surgery ended up costing her $8,000.00. She has pet insurance through a company called Lemonade. The insurance reimbursed her 90% of the cost. I love watching your videos. You are so very creative.

Wishing Stuart a quick recovery. I always put my stitching back into the project bag when not stitching. I also keep my threads in the project bag after pulling a strand. It’s very bad for kitties to swallow floss. I knew someone whose kitty swallowed her floss and needed surgery. Looking forward to seeing the acorn FFO. TFS.
@@sueb1828 I’ve always been so careful and never imagined this for our household. Apparently it’s very common 😕At the ER there was a cat who swallowed a dime and one that ate an air tag😳
My goodness, that x-ray is startling! So glad that Stuart is on the mend ~ don't beat yourself up, Sarah! It is amazing how kitties manage to get to places and things. When I saw the thumbnail or little Stuart I was so worried. I’m so sorry this happened and am happy to hear he is recovering well. Great PSA, I am good about putting my items away at the end of the day but will no longer set things down “for a second.” My cats mainly have no I retest in my projects but as you showed it only takes once. Big hugs!
I think that’s what I did. Thought it wouldn’t be long and he hasn’t gotten up there before but yup! One time, just once and the bank account is broken. We’re reviewing pet insurance policies and considering one for him for the next 3 years until his brain develops 😕We’re ALWAYS so careful WE never imagined😭

I have several games that I purchased at thrift stores that I paid a dollar or two for, now they are selling for a much higher price. Love the stitched acorns, cute for fall decor. He has a vaccine on the 19th so we’ll get another eye on his progress.❤ Abby is being a great nurse and play toy for him. He loves going after her tail and jumps on her neck. She looks like she’s wearing a kitten necklace but it’s just a hug. Lost my stitch mojo but trying to get into it again.
I've lost a lot of needles over the years! Sometimes I never find them. It's scary with kids and animals around. Glad your cute kitty is doing good!

The problem with organizing an area is trying to remember where your new safe place is. With so much that you have to track I would suggest making an inventory list of where you have stored your goodies
I have to take my dog to surgery on Wednesday. I know how you feel about hurting your little loved one. I would have never thought about a cat eating a needle. I’m glad that you went ahead and had the x-ray done

Bag everything and consider an older cat. We wouldn’t have gotten a kitten but we so wanted Abby to bond and they surrrrre have❤

So sorry to hear about Stuart. We had a similar incident with one of our kittens shortly after we got him. He ate a lot of floss and it got all twisted up in his stomach. Many,many dollars later and he’s fine. I watch my floss, needles and anything else like that. It’s scary!❤

I've finally binge watched your entire collection of videos. Slowly working through all the Library Stitcher floss tubers. I think we are soul sisters, only I don't have nearly as much craft ing room as you. But I do in spirit. Ha. I am dropping needles constantly in my bedroom which is where I do my cross stitch. Thank goodness there are pets here except occasionally . My hands shake constantly so am trying to be careful . I am very happy that your kitty is doing well.
It would mean surgery for you if you stepped on one😢do yourself a favor and get a retractable magnet. I used to put needles in the arm of my corduroy chair until a friend did the same and got one in her hand when she put her hand down on her chair. I stopped doing that!

hi there, well you are not the only one,!!!! my dog Milo did the same
thing. He decided to eat the needle. Well I got to the emergency room, the needle was
stuck in his throat. The vet was able to put him to sleep and open his mouth go
into his throat and get it out. My bill wasn't has much as yours but I tell you that was
such a scare. So with that said I only use one needle and if I drop it I will keep looking
till I find it so that it doesn't happen again. Speedy recovery for your little one. Milo is happy
and so am I.
@@gladysiezza4756 😵He must’ve had a sore throat! Terrifying! After I tore up the house I did pry Stuart’s mouth open but didn’t see a thing. Having exploratory abdominal surgery is not something we ever want to go through and wouldn’t wish this on anyone. So glad Milo had a quick action vet❤️

Watch them for eating flavored dental floss. This is how I know our grown cat ate a roll. The way I found it was coming out both end. That was scary because I wasn't sure how long it had been working its way through. She lived with daughter in her room. After surgery she was fine. So dental floss is keep in a place no furry loves can get any.

👍🏼We use dental floss all the time and all garbage receptacles are covered. Used to have an open ort container by my stitching chair and even removed that before we got him. It’s utter madness what they can find to get into 😢

@@beachgirl681 It was a nightmare definitely. He’s doing so well but I’ve been having lots of bad dreams and lost my stitching mojo. We have gone through the house more thoroughly trying to think of absolutely anything he can get into.
@@Sarahthenorthwoodsstitcher Hope Stuart is still continuing to heal. I had a thought. Get a magnet with a handle to make it easy to find a stray needle. Kinda looks like a Swiffer. About $15 at Lowe's. I am going to get one for myself. I go through spells where I drop needles and found one with my foot. With this magnet I won't have to get on the floor to look for a needle. One other thing, my sister's cats would eat curling ribbon, of all things. So your idea of using the tins you have collected for gifts under the tree is a good one.
Oh no. Not your fault. I leave my needles out all the time. None of our cats had ever bothered with them. Poor little Simon.

Cats tongues are raspy in one direction. Once it gets on the tongue there’s no way but down😢He went exploring in the kitchen table and got the thread on his tongue and just kept swallowing 😭
