Bill may have stretched the truth, but I would bet Doc never lied...even in his grave.
The precision, speed, and ease at which they play and harmonize together, especially considering this is a one-off of sorts, is nothing short of remarkable. Experiencing this live would be nothing short of magical and revelatory. Just wow.
Even more so considering that, despite this being fast, clean, and impressive, it’s still only like 1st gear for these two Ferraris.

Go to a bluegrass festival and avoid the stage and go out into the 'parking lot' and hear some parking lot pickin'

These two are perfectly matched for a duo album, in stereo of course with pristine recording techniques to highlight their virtuosity and vocal harmonies. Do it!

We Fans are watching two fabulous players become Bluegrass legends and they are paying tribute to Bluegrass, but still doing it their way and bringing a whole new young generation to this old music while making it fresh and new ... thank you Sierra and Billy and an honorable mention to Molly Tuttle who I just saw live last month !!

@@marybaker8061 I have seen Molly Tuttle Twice in Grass Valley Father's Day Bluegrass Festival and am absolutely in love with her. This year at the end of her set she brought her Dad Jack Tuttle up and the sang Grass Valley together just the two of them on stage. I cried 😊

Mandolin and acoustic guitar have such a perfect blend … so nice to hear just those two instruments together, the players skill , experience, taste and choice of instruments makes this another level .
Frayling banjo and fiddle are nice together too

I grew up listening to bluegrass and only an hour from Ralph Stanley's home place, where they still host music fest annually. Super grateful for the tradition continuing. ❤❤

So glad that these musical traditions are being nurtured by young musicians. They bring their own interpretation, while honouring the source material, which inspires the generation to come. A lot of things seem to be crap, but music seems to be doing ok, so hurrah for that!
The two of them have never played this sweet song before and are reading the lyrics off the floor...what's incredible is that their intricate guitar and mandolin pieces are played expertly in unison and time...They come across as two lovely people who impart something special to their listeners, they are more than their music...
There's been a lot of great Duet's, this is one of them. Beautiful harmony.

Yes these musicians are beyond human. And I see so many young people who are exhibiting similar skills cropping up world wide that I am led to believe they were sent to appease the tension that results when the worlds leaders can’t resolve their differences. They might come to terms quickly if they would inundate themselves with some good folk music 🪕🪗🎻🎷😎Blessings to all of those afflicted by war and also to our Russian brothers who have risked everything to speak out against this war ✌️🤝

The first things I remember in music now at 70 are akin to this. You... I celebrate this. I play. And they say, how can you strum like that? 60+years, that's how. Like life-breath itself. I saw your joy, and if felt your work from 5 or 6, you and Billy and Justin... my Daddy and his Daddy and me in basements and back yards, cornfields, yes, all of it. I am so grateful for all of you. And trust me, I'm not near done at all. Just old enough to know that all those, gone on before, are proud of you to keep bluegrass heritage, and more alive and not just healthy, but, dang, kickin' to beat the band! You can tell, I'll never stop pickin'. Drop a hat... we'll play!!!
