It's actually kind of sweet that Tails didn't let his superior intellect make him proud. He just went along for the ride that his friends gave him, and he enjoyed it deeply. There's real wisdom in that.
I also like how much Sonic genuinely cares about Tails. You can really hear the sheer desperation in his voice when Amy was about to kill him. It's wholesome that even though Tails is far smarter than Sonic they still care for each other.

I remember seeing a sonic fan explain why everything wrong with Amy is actually just Sega and the cartoons writing sonic to be an abusive weirdo. In pretty much every single thing sonic and amy have ever been in, Amy is just a nice and friendly character who occasionally confesses to sonic, meanwhile Sonic will gaslight her, manipulate her, throw her into danger, and all while blaiming her. Their whole "relationship" is so confusing and weird. The writers have to turn sonic into essentially a villain and have him break character so Amy doesn't get to be happy. It's honestly the weirdest shit and I had never noticed until this one random sonic fan would go back to any scene, game, or even comic to provide context and analysis.

Somehow as creepy and warped this is, it's still wholesome.
I remember seeing a sonic fan explain why everything wrong with Amy is actually just Sega and the cartoons writing sonic to be an abusive weirdo. In pretty much every single thing sonic and amy have ever been in, Amy is just a nice and friendly character who occasionally confesses to sonic, meanwhile Sonic will gaslight her, manipulate her, throw her into danger, and all while blaiming her.
Their whole "relationship" is so confusing and weird. The writers have to turn sonic into essentially a villain and have him break character so Amy doesn't get to be happy. It's honestly the weirdest shit and I had never noticed until this one random sonic fan would go back to any scene, game, or even comic to provide context and analysis.

People have been calling Amy the abusive one for years and now Sega is writing Sonic to be way nicer to her now which mean Sega knew how fucked the dynamic of how sonic treated Amy was. I watched the Sonic X cartoon when I was younger and I always felt bad for Amy cos Sonics just mean to her most of the time. I mean Amy still had flaws but I'm pretty sure she was like 12. Younger me was a shadamy fan lol.

I get where you're coming from, but even if he is written to be an asshole, Amy, (the character, even if she's written to be desperate) should see she deserves better than that b.s, that no means no, and that no one's obliged to love or even like you. Hopefully, she gets a new writer who finally gets her to go meet up with someone who appreciates her and doesn't treat her like the mud on their sneakers. But the thing with Amy is, she's a little immature, clingy, has a bit of an anger streak, and is someone who would annoy me in real life too, so I can kinda see why Sonic thinks she's got "cooties". I know this is all fiction, but I am saying this because these scenarios happen in real life all the time. If you put yourself through this for *30* friggin years, YOU got a problem, NOT the person you are stalking, and you need some serious, serious help. It's self-torture and sabotage at this point, and no one should have to be pestered for that long (as if breaking them down will get them to love you). And no one should have to "pay" or friggin die because some a-hole didn't just wake up one day and magically decide to love you all because you *really* want them to. Obsessive "love" is a phenomenon that amazes me but is one I'll never understand.
