- I love Pikmin cause Louie does some of the most cruel things in a video game. yet he looks like a pillow if you somehow melted it.

Louie is the most accurate depiction of a sociopath I’ve ever seen in an E rated game

I find it ridiculous that Louis did this 2 times & wasn’t fired or even arrested, like seriously!
One of my favorite parts of this is how Olimar just immediately takes responsibility for the potential consequences of Louie being loose in the wild

The most wholesome thing about olimar in this isnt even just that he named them all, its that his interaction with the first one implies he values them as equals and is actually invested in their day to day lives.
Only the most heartless of players wouldn't care about the Pikmin. Like you feel terrible when you lose even just a couple. It's not even that you wouldn't be able to pick up an object, but more so you could have prevented it. At least most of the time. Hidden enemies are a bitch.

So, same cause, opposite effect.
I love how the two most important playable characters in the Pikmin franchise are 1. Olimar, a totally normal dude with a wife and kids, and 2. His partner Louie who is just the worst most unrepentant jerk, and the cause of so many problems across several games
Louie had absolutely no reason to kidnap castaways and turn them into Leaflings. He was just letting his intrusive thoughts win.
@CrazyWeridoRH Past a certain point, the thoughts are no longer intruding. They are simply residing.

I think I first comment say something in this comment
Actually he has WAY more
olimar learned it from gru, who knows all 1000 minions by name
His wife thinks otherwise.
It really shows how olimar is a good person to these pikmen
Fun fact, Louie actively restrains himself from eating the Pikmin according to his piklopedia entry for red Pikmin in 4 since they look like pikpik carrots and wants to know how they taste. We don’t know a lot of the specifics about Louie other than he’s supposedly a great cook and had abusive parents since he was taken in by his grandma based on the emails he gets from his grandma in Pikmin 2. He also has a fascination with bugs and may be able to telepathically communicate with them according to the piklopedia entry of the Titan Dwevail in Pikmin 2 and his entry in the treasure section in the piklopedia in Pikmin 2. So there’s a reason behind his sociopathy and introverted behaviors exhibited in 2-4 but it doesn’t excuse what he’s done in the games.
😦 I thought this was just a wholesome little game about killing nature with little slaves what do you mean there’s that much lore
Oh no, they’re not slaves. They’re arguably allegorical representations of Japanese businessmen working for an exploitative company under the supervision of olimar who is also working for an exploitative company. Being forced to go to work, face untold horrors and willingly go do it again the next day is what made Pikmin an initial success in Japan.
i mean he did try and eat the rock pikmin
Got the ability to speak to animals used it to eat and kill them
hes also confirmed to have tried to eat a rock pikmin with his rock pikmin entry
I love how Olimar starts off with a strange kind of slurred accent that gradually disappears the more horrified he gets.
So not only did Louie force a bluborb to evolve, but also made Olimar’s accent disappear just by implying that he eats pikmin.

the wall didnt explode, louie himself exploded
The ID badge for Louie in Pikmin 4 reads "The quiet new driver and the embodiment of the word "troublemaker". He has a ravenous and alarmingly adventurous appetite." You can not convince me that Louie isn't the equivalent to a cannibalistic, serial killing truck driver. Adventurous appetite is already a bit suspect but the fact the word "alarmingly" is further added on is all I need to know.
Pikmin can be summed up with “Louie wouldn’t do that!” And then smash cut to Louie doing that.
The franchise has 3 distinct themes:

2) The goo creature desires Olimar
3) That

I have to applaud Goobus for the work he puts into his captions. They almost always enhance his comedy, its genuinely impressive :)
For reference: Both Olimar and Louie share their thoughts on every creature in the game.
Olimar’s notes are fascinating scientific insights into every creature
Louie’s notes are a cookbook.
The game goes into vivid detail about how Louie prepares, dismembers, cooks and eats every creature in the game.
And Pikmin are included in that! The literal only reason why he doesn’t devour his entire squad of Pikmin at any opportunity is because he finds them useful for getting more snacks.
And you can fact check me on that because it is 100% true
There’s no reason he can’t snack on a pikmin once in a while considering how easy they are to get
Actually the reason is Olimar knows he ate the Gold Pikpik Carrots and has threatened to tell if he keeps eating Pikmin.
According to Pikmin 4, he once chipped a tooth trying to bite a Rock Pikmin. So yeah.
@SpectroliteDS2400 it actually says in the red pikmin entry that hes practicing self control and trying not to eat the pikmin which implies the one time he just couldn't resist anymore was with the rocks and i find that funny

When the clock hits 12 Freddy Fazbear passes him the blunt
It's more than that you know. It's not "oooooooo red eye monster ooooooooo!" Rather it's an indicator that they have been drawn in by the glow of the Glow Pikmin's hive.
Basically they are like moths to a flame, mindlessly marching toward the light that is drawing them in.
@@DarknesstheHedgehog6the hives glow green because of that zaza that makes the bulborbs eyes turn red
@larsthememelord3383 Precisely. And according to the crew's dialogue, the Glow Pikmin apparently do this on purpose in order to train their young to fight against the dangers in the wild.
They clearly went with more of a tower defense kind of thing for the night missions. The red eyes are a good indicator that it’s actually an impending threat to you and not a creature going about it’s business
I love the reference to the fact that Olimar names his Pikmin, it was a random factoid expressed in a Nintendo Power issue (because yes, they actually still produced Nintendo Power up until the Wii era) and it’s questionably canon but I want to believe that Olimar actually named each of his thousands of little creatures that all look identical but is still able to perfectly distinguish each of them without fail.
Also here’s another interesting fact, it’s actually been established that Louie doesn’t eat the Pikmin because Olimar threatened to tell the company president that it was Louie who ate all of the golden carrots that he was supposed to deliver if he did and it’s heavily implied that the reason why he tried to kill Olimar and the president with the Titan Dweevil is that he just assumed that Olimar told the president about his secret and that they were trying to find him because they were going to punish him. Oh that Louie, what a rascal!
How did Olimar know about the pikpik carrot thing, exactly? we know it bc of that cutscene but how does olimar know?
@@anjoliebarrios8906 Olimar probably just put two and two together and figured out his extremely omnivorous coworker being left alone with delicious vegetables didn't end that well, but it's a lot funnier if it turned out it was just an idle threat that he managed to get right accidentally, like:

Louie: "How did you know I did that?"
Olimar: "...Wait what"
Louie: "What"
"Rascal" is what you put on the cover of a book about the things Louie has done/thought of doing

You cannot convince me otherwise that Louie is just some parasitic being that leaves planets dry. He almost did this Hocotate, Koppai, and now Pnf404 💀

Something funny I feel the need to point out: In Pikmin 4, not only is it revealed that Louie doesn't actually eat Pikmin (Because of how useful they are to survival), it's also revealed that he sees PNF-404 as a paradise because he doesn't have to listen to anyone, (including his grandmother, who was implied to be abusive in 2) but the planet is filled with (to him) gourmet ingredients.
Considering he's not only survived, but thrived on PNF-404 three separate times now, it's not hard to understand why he doesn't want to go back to Hocotate.

as a pikmin fan, can confirm this all happens, including louie eating pikmin, and the bulbolb gaining morals from it.
I really like how appropriately deep Louie's voice is.
Also, that HAS to be some brutal devouring to make something that eats them like crackerjacks scared.
I can only imagine it was like carrots, since the Pikmin are supposed to resemble Pikpik carrots, and since you usually eat those one bite at a time from the tip to the leaf...and the Pikmins’ leaves are on their heads...
Definitely accurate to his voice in Pikmim 2, at least to my memory.
@@frootsnacc6790 And how you can slowly eat their outside to leave the sweet core for later.
ya gotta remember, he quite literally has logged how to cook many of the enemies.
I don't know why, but something about this has made it so I want to rewatch it over and over. Like, just every joke just stacks so well.
the fact that louie just said that he will go to an underground and kill you if he's near is so fucking good
He litterally controlled Titan Dweevil and the Ancient Sirehound so he's a fucking murderer by his choices.
(I would understand the ancient sirehound controlled by louie but not titan dweevil since i didnt know he was controlling the innocent bigass dweevil)
Man everything about this is just pure comedy gold! The bluborb was absolutely perfect! "Not a single good quality in there, god damn!" broke me
"I'm so sorry. I'll go get the Bible." Is my personal favorite line.
The frickin “Erm.. No one forced you to watch to Watch, lmao.”
Honestly, the thing I love most about this is that it shows that Olimar does care a lot about his Pikmin, and that he doesn’t just see them as little tools
I just noticed how Olimar's vocal slur vanished so quickly as soon as he learned of Louie's crimes against literally everything
0:39 Purple Pikmin looks very squishy here I love it
1:24
“Ok, I believe you let a demon inside my planet”
“I’m sorry, I’ll go get the Bible”
I didn’t know this took place in the TerminalMontage universe :0
Doobusmontage crosssover when?
@@benjaythewhite
That's what I was thinking!
I don't think the bible is exclusive to terminalmontage
@@definitelynotascammer
Good Point…
"You unleashed a deamon onto my planet. I am so sorry, I'll get the Bible" best lines in the short.
It was surreal witnessing Louie go from being selfish, lazy, and awkward in Pikmin 2 to an actual demon-spawn by Pikmin 4
honestly the voices fit louie and olimar pretty nicely
ignore their manly grunts ingame
Real talk though, Olimar is a total bro. Like a pure freakin' wholesome good guy just trying his best in all facets of his life. Go for it Olimar! I'm rooting for you in your endeavors!
If you think louie isn’t evil think again, in the second game you try and safe him from a giant spider know as “The Titan Dweevil” a creature capable of using extremely powerful weapons of all elements in the game, ones you beat it the bio of the dweevil reads that it’s actually a PEACEFUL Creature! And that louie was actually controlling it the whole time, louie also states how he wished to be addressed by his proper title “The king of bugs”…
Its surprisingly easy if your entire army consists of yellow pikmin
There's been a few theories circulating if he is or not. One being that the dweevils can replicate how things act when they're on top of it. It's like how you can feel really angry in a dream, but not harm anyone
Louie causes so many of the conflicts in Pikmin I’m wondering if he somehow sent the meteor that hits Olimar in Pikmin 1.
The way he opens his eyes after Loui confirms it it’s just 👌
I like how Olimar even has yellow pupils, that’s such a small and forgettable detail
Olimar actually doesn’t have yellow eyes, I think you’re thinking of Louie, Louie had orange eyes. Olimar has black eyes. I’m not sure why he has yellow pupils in this animation , it doesn’t make a difference tho.
0:05 “cuz I name ALL of my Pikmin :)”
Not even 10 seconds in and he just made a horrible mistake. Naming is the first step towards attachment and you never know how many you could lose…
i love how offended the bulborb is at the end, like how DARE you let this monster on my planet have it give me sentience and then dig into my planet, despite not knowing what a monster he is, how DARE YOU!
I like how every Pikman in the the wide shot when the Bulborb starts talking is shaking with angry and fear at Louie for eating their brethern while the Bulbmin is just chill in on the sign lol.
