it isn't working
Just an hour ago I was about to review this topic and I saw he didn't have one on the channel and now I'm back from my walk and he posted it 20 mins ago wow
The king of chem
His orgo senses tingled someone needed help

Because our God answers our deepest prayers
Wow, 2 years here
I just want to let you know that you are the reason I passed trig, calc, and soon chemistry. most profs need to take notes from you because I always end up fully understanding in like a third of the time it would take my profs to explain.
You just explained mass spec in a shorter, yet more effective way, than my professor.
Thank you. This video answered everything about mass spec I didn’t understand
Literally just got 29 percent on a test... and came across your video. I can literally understand everything about mass spec... ACADEMIC comeback is sooo real ARGHHHHH🦅🦅🦅
you uploaded this right on time for my studies
I spend the 4 years of my university watching your videos in all the chemistry fields that i studied
Another day, another dub by the Organic Chemistry Tutor.
I literally could not wrap my head around mass spec at all until this video, thank so much 🙏🙏🙏
Hoping I can understand it. I have en exam Friday and the professor is going over this Wednesday bc he never actually teaches us in depth and gives the hardest exams. Hoping this can save me😅
Ameen
I've watched this before.. And it really helped.. Thanks so much Sir JG
You're inspiring a nation, and changing the world with your videos! I wish you prosperity and many wonderful things in your life! Thank you Mr Organic Chemistry Tutor!
Perfect timing. Thank you professor!
Thank you so much, professor! You have helped me sooo much these past few years :)!
Gordon doesn't need to hear all this, he's a highly trained professional!
Thanks a lot man!! I started watching you since 2021 when I was in 9th Grade studying logarithms from you and wondering why you named your channel organic chem tutor xD .. now i'll give AS level exam after a week and finally understood the reason behind it after 3 years :D
Thank you so much for this! Explained better than my professors lol
wow. Mass spectrum analysis is so easy now👌
I really like all of your videos you just meets our needs
raw behind video good sh*t bro i love watching the newer ones as you develop into a more efficient teacher
Very well explained! Thank you so much
this man save my life
Love it and thank you, but I would be thrilled if there'd be another, perhaps a bit harder example (carb. acid, ,ROR',...), THANK YOU!!!!!:) upload time as it has been ordered
Is his voice soothing or is it just me? I have no idea what he's talking about but I'll watch his videos just to hear him talk...
So you just watch these for the fun of it ?
@@azyle2104 Pretty much, just like some people would have the tv or music on when cooking, studing, etc. I often have this channel playing on the background, but mostly when I'm cooking🍳 🙂 .. I have to say that I did get tremendous help with algebra from this channel just a few months ago 🙂.
Very effective video sir 😊😊
Can you do a video on how to come up with the molecular formula from the Mass spectrophotometer graph.
Please can you tag me on the video
Thanks for sharing, it was really informative. 💐🙏🏻
So many people studying while I’m over here just loving space travel and wondering how they use their mass spectrometers
I have a question:
At 6:13, I understand why the primary carbocations would be more abundant than the methyl group. But, why is the base peak 43 but not 29, even though they split from the same molecule?
the molecule breaks up into a cation and a radical and only the cation is read. So, even if for every cation with mass 43 there is a corresponding radical with mass 29, the radical will not be analyzed. Also, if there is a break to make a cation at mass 29 the corresponding radical at mass 43 would not be read. So basically, even though they split from the same molecule, the radical is never read.
@@hijabbeana thank you
hello. on 8:21 could you explain what does it mean "stabilized by resonance". What does it mean" resonance".
Thx and make more video on spectroscopy plz plz plz
Thanks a lot for upload this video. It is usefull for me 😀
is there any way we can get the full video? :') im broke
Me too💔
thank you so much, do useful and well explained
can you do more mass spec
What if the z is +2? How does it work then? I mean, what if the beam knocks out 2 electrons? Then the compound becomes +2 charged correct? How will we see that on the graph?
you are my master, thank you very much for sharing this info to me
Can you do mass spectrum of ethanol
It's mass spectrometry not spectroscopy. Calling it spectroscopy is a major error since there is no matter/light interaction.
I think its the correct term because when the sample is injected into the mass spectrometer the ionization source uses a beam of light to create the carbon radicals.
@@iamruthlouis5599 That's only the case for MALDI ionization though. In more common ionization setups such as Electron Impact ionization, Fast Atom Bombardment or electrospray ionization, there is no light that is used.
@@dennis4rock I wouldn't call the EI ionization set up very common any more. It's a really harsh method that's being phased out
Thank you so much
why does the propyl cation lose two hydrogen radicals?
Great video
why must to be member, for full video??
new york accent king
how can just one electron be removed to form the parent peak? Would it not remove one of the bonds with a hydrogen? Or is an electron removed from the inner shell of electrons?
Never disappoints me
Beautiful 🥳
How come the M+ did not fragment ? How did the whole molecule stayed unfragmented ?
Just an hour ago I was about to rev6this topic and I saw he didn't have one on the channel now I am back on my walk and he posted 20 mins ago
Thank you for your video!!!
Thank you so much🙏💎
Nice it helps me a lot thank you
Sir please explain 2D NMR Spectroscopy.....
How do you end up with 6 carbons???
Who actually watches this just for fun?
Me, it's interesting
lol I actually needed to refresh my ochem skills for my ADVANCED MEDICAL LABORATORY PROCEDURES class
God i wish that were me
Not me 😅
no one 🙄
Who's watching from Kenya ❤
What bout 42, it is also more abundant than 41?
Nice one!
why breakin c2-c3 more stable than c1-c4?
Very helpful!
how do you know if its a m+ tho
Turtle approves of this video
Good, I can't watch a video if a turtle doesn't approve of it. Thank you Mr. Turtle.
Well, I agree with Turtle. Turtle is very smart, good stuff!
Thank so much ur lessons help me alot 😊
How fundamentally we know that c2-c3 it easy to break
They're waiting for you Gordon, in the test chamberrr
Why don't you share us a PDF document including the summary
Thank you
I’m here because I saw an episode of puffin forest once that mentioned this
what is name of the video?
I remember a story about him getting a job in Biochem, maybe it was on ZiggyZags
@@GibsGallery Yeeeeeeeeee. It was on his main channel. Don’t know what ZiggyZags is.
Sir please open second part of this video...as for one video we indian students can not pay such big amount of money
hahaha

Its big brain time
Pentanone and cycohexadienes?
Mass spectrometry or spectroscopy?
Mass, spect includes others like NMR, IR, UVvis (different spectrograms)
@@AnhTruong1XA thanks
It's mass spectrometry
@@dennis4rock listen to the video. He says Spectroscopy
@@Nathan-sq9xv I know, but it's a mistake. Spectroscopy implies interaction between electromagnetic radiation and matter. In mass spectrometry that is not the case because you analyse compounds according to their mass/charge. Thus it's wrong calling it spectroscopy.
Dude i loveyou so much
Great! 😊
Pls I need the basis to follow
Could you please describe the easier principle of LCMS…?
May I work in the LCMS shimadzu analyser and ICPMS Thermo and agilent analyzer (department)
How is the base peak abundance 100% but there are some other peaks?!! Shouldn't it be less than 100%.
Pls what app are you using for this tutorial and explanations
Thank youuu
i think i hear a new yorker accent in this man
5 stars good man
Hexane ko benzene kyu bola

For starters the name of this field is “mass spectrometry”. Spectroscopy is the study of the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with matter. Mass “spectroscopy” makes no sense.
Still dont get it
mass spectrometry intrepretation is so confusing its a bunch of asspulling and concluding things out of nowhere
would have been useful 2 months ago. still useful for organic chem 2 tho
Mass Spectrometry is correct. Mass spectroscopy is not.
I didn't really get it
To the Early Squad Reading This: sending Virtual hugs to everyone and may we have a happy 2021 read my name btw
anyone else got a mid term tmrw?
We jauuuuu 😂😂😂😂
