Thank you! I've been struggling with large format depth of field for a long time and now have the answer!

Yes photoshop can - sort of - imitate some of the geometric tricks of a view camera, but not the depth of field manipulations you're teaching here. Great presentation.

Great videos! I'm glad to see a channel devoted to 4x5! From a videography standpoint, it might be interesting to get some shots of the ground glass and close ups of the camera as you preform the movements. It will give the videos more depth. Again, great videos!

Thanks for the great explanation of DOF and Sheimpflug. I was having trouble understanding the relationships between DOF and swing/tilt and I'm glad to learn that the key is the converging lines. My question is, how would one calculate the minimum required DOF when using swing or tilt? I shoot with a Sinar F2 which has a very handy built in aperture calculator. Would it still work with swing/tilt applied?

For a minute there I thought the sequence had somehow jumped to one of my banjo videos.

Taking pitchers and playing my funny gee-tar!
In the last video (Part 3) you kept calling it depth of focus. There is a difference. You are talking about depth of field.

Ok so you can play the banjo. I want to learn how to control depth-of-field, not just with the f/stop and distance, but with view camera movements.
