Thank you for the video, great work and great review as always. The coolest excavator on the market nowadays in my opinion, such a beautiful piece of equipment
I really enjoy your documentary’s of heavy plant and you give loads of information and it’s good you doing the new machines too , this cat is beautiful huge and when there this size and bigger they have there own engine rooms fantastic
Another excellent documentary. Great to see you back in the saddle again. One thing that broke my heart thought.... seeing a Cleveland Brothers sticker instead of a Milton Cat sticker on the excavator.
CAT went so big since they merged with the legendary O&K. If you all remember, the biggest they used to go was the 245 ME, which was not so big, only 48/49 metric tons with the bucket. O&K at that time had the mighty (for the time) RH300. So, thank you O&K!!!
The future is now old man. We actually want to live, not put our life on the line for some corporation that would replace us the same day if we died. So retire already, your generation is done.
A work of art. Cat are the best in my opinion. I currently operate a Liebherr R970 Lme and hate the bloody thing!! Most unreliable piece of junk I’ve ever operated. Great video and stay safe from 🇬🇧
I inspected a bunch of Trumball jobs when they were working on Corridor H way back when. My wife's best friends dad worked for them too. Got to be pretty good friends with some of the superintendent's. Also got to know Ralph Mashuda really well. I was at a pre-bid sitting beside his dad Vic when he had his first stroke. Then Ralph dies of a stroke years later. So sad. I was out west and missed his funeral. Shame what happened to the company after Ralph's death. I happened to be on site the first day Ralph was trying out a brand new 5130, comparing it to his 992. Ralph helped me teach a sediment control workshop when they were doing to the first Benedum Airport expansion. 10,000,000 yards.
Fantastic Justin. Well done, technical as always. Hate the fact that O&K mining is now cat but the 6015B is one of the better additions. Up there with the Liebherr R9150
How does this one compare to a 984 liebherr/1250 komatsu/1200 hitachi This particular cat model is very popular here in greece for loading lignite coal
I started out driving truck as a summer job and later got to learn excavator, dozer and loader but never really operated them as a profession. I went to school for mine engineering and that's what I do now 😎
By the way your presentations are amazing what do you look ok like dude I’ll send some great video a brought soon of the site I worked on you’ll love it
We used a 5110 as a high reach demolition machine...I still have PTSD from the electrical bugs that machine had...it looks like cat simplified the electrical on this new model...I dont see all the wiring harness snaking through the frame..we ran it till the rotex went out then sold it to a company in Mexico....I was glad to see it go
Genuine question if someone could help me out: CAT themselves don't refer to this as an 'excavator' in their catalogue, they refer to it as a 'hydraulic shovel'. What's the difference between a large mass excavator, like a 395F, verses this? Is it purely the size of the thing?
A lot of manufacturers have their own terminology for components/ equipment. For example, you will see a gear box on an excavator referred to as a "pump drive", "pump transmission", "gear case" etc. Same thing applies here. There is no difference other than size. These machines are all hydraulic excavators with backhoe or shovel attachment. Thanks!
Always been my dream machine!!!! I’m a pipe foreman so I’m usually in a 336 or 349. My biggest so far was a 374f and a Volvo 480. I have laid some damn deep sewer and storm and not just everyone can do that! Love the documentary!
Muito linda essa escavadeira, gostaria de poder trabalhar em uma dessas, sou operador mais aqui na minha região não tem essa potência de maquina...show parabéns.
Isn't that the truth! For light duty work, I've always been a Carolina guy. That's what I'm wearing in the video. For a more aggressive mining boot, I like the McRae MR89300.
@@PAmining Had a pair of Wolverine steel toes that were some of, if not the most comfortable boots I've ever had so I bought a second pair. Same exact pair, same model number, same size and width and they destroyed my toes. Currrently wearing Wolverine non-steel toes, awesome so far but It's always good to have a back up. Have a good one
The one thing I would hate about an excavator is having no rear vision without the need if a camera Simple over the shoulder look behind a machine I like but the bigger the machine obviously the worse the vision
@@PAmining Always found it a defining, but unusual feature of the 5110, considering none of them were FS configured. Either way, the EX1200, 6015b, R9150... pretty cool class size for hoes.
I might have missed it, but does this machine have def? Not sure if they made the manufacturers of off road diesel engines have to use it. I do fe sorry that thing has cat acert engine. The truck engines were junk when they added that technology
You don't need a mechanic, you need a computer engineer. Not better when it comes to any service problems. Your at the mercy of cat who sends out a technician who was working the drive thru at McDonald's last week.
Well glad I'm not from your parts, thankfully any cat tech I've worked along side with or met has been old school and tech smart regardless of age. Guess I'm lucky. I run 1 of 2 service trucks for the construction company I'm at. Cat has been good to our company and us when in a pinch. Maybe you're talking out your Big Mac...
Probably the best excavator CAT has ever made. Incredibly smooth and fast for such a large machine.
To bad the cab still suck.
@@Greyhorse15 I heard the cabs on the newer ones are nicer..
No that would be the e70
cat 6020b
@@PLATKT06 one of worst excavators CAT has ever made

That's a 2 story house. I felt like I was watching the show "cribs". You forgot to show us the laundry room.
Always look forward to your videos! What an awesome machine that is!
Agreed, nothing like seeing a brand new Cat for some reason! thanks!
Been watching for many years, Love your videos, very knowledgeable, well done, thank you.
You're very welcome! Glad you enjoy the Channel :)
One of the most beautiful CAT excavator ever built
Two of this type running in my state, got one in a far away shot in quarry. Thx for the close up shots and your always excellent explanations.
Another excellent documentary. Great to see you back in the saddle again. One thing that broke my heart thought.... seeing a Cleveland Brothers sticker instead of a Milton Cat sticker on the excavator.
I would love one but, the price tag is way out of my range.
Thank you for the video and information.
I don't really have anywhere to put one. Mowers take up too much room!
5 million

They had the 5130 and 5230. Not as big as the Rh300 but still quite large

Yep...
Take care my friend.
Thats a sweet machine. Great video!
So this machine is pretty much the same size as the 1466 Koehring correct? Just less horsepower.
Another great machine covered in safety rails. Don't want to break a nail..........

I love how on the larger excavators the engine housings are more like small rooms. This model weighs ~150t, correct?
I know and it's one of the reasons it's my favorite part of a machine to show! And yes, 154 tons
Can you or did you ever drive any of the machines just wondering? And by the way excellent video as always 👍👍👍

Why did cat drop the cab riser when moving from the 5110 to the 6015?
Those are meant more for front shovels and don't really serve a purpose on a hoe. However, l believe it is still an optional feature.

How much money are we talking about in owning one of these Bad Boys ?
Ive got another question, why is it they dont run an conveyor belt systems ?
It would have to be built for this size of machine, but I know it can be done
A 6015 is around $2.5M
