We did a side by side of the Patriot View Point and Iris Vision at the Edith Bishel Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired. The viewpoint won hands down. The biggest difference is the ease in plugging in the charger, turning the device off and on and the OCR! We have had several different wearable video magnifier in our store and we scraped them all when we found the Patriot View Point. Our local users are so happy with this device!
Just wanted to let you know that I did receive the Iris Vision in the mail. I have been using it every day, I also got a battery pack go with it so I can use it a lot longer without having to charge it constantly. I love this thanks so much.
An eSight vs Iris Vision vs Patriot vs NuEyes sounds really beneficial. Hoping to see that soon. I’m considering the Patriot. I tried it myself and it is extremely impressive. My personal favorite.
That would be pretty cool unfortunately I don’t think I can get my hands on all of those at the same time! Especially centsnueyes isn’t returning my calls!
You can have a similar device with the $100 Samsung Gear VR glasses and a Free app called Relumino( you have to google it I dont think its in the app store), minus the OCR.
Just want to shout out that you can now also talk to them with voice command! The Patriot ViewPoint assists your vision, listens to you, and reads aloud to You! Prior clients may send in their unit for free upgrade!
John Palmer got one of these in early 2019 and it worked ok for a while I guess but then it started taking pictures on its own and Changing color to hc mode by it Self and a couple months ago, I was watching a dvd with my sister when it beeped and cut off completely so I plugged it up and it said 47% battery I was confused a couple weeks later I was trying to look at pictures with my grandmother and granddad and it kept taking pictures by itself again and I can’t change the color anymore either Any clue what’s going on with my device?
I am a musician who needs to turn pages quickly and without any focussing problems. I presently use an IPad Pro but now need more magnification than putting it in landscape mode. (Macular Degeneration) Would I be able to capture images of, say 5 pages of music and then seamlessly move from one page to the next? Thank you for your expertise. Margi
Where's the verses video? Will NuEyes2 and the MagVR app also be taken into consideration? Would love a comparison against MagVR, which is a free app to use on your phone and Cardboard VR. I like to consider these mobile CCTV's.
Hi Sam my name is Charlie I have the RP eye condition and my counselor was purchase for me the nu eye but is not work for me because the magnify screen is not big enough for me so I saw you review the iris vision and patriot view point on your UA-cam channel I like to ask you that which one could be best for me thanks
They both use the same hardware so, theoretically, will have the same results with the digital magnification. So you will need to look at the extra features to see which one will fit your needs the best. Iris vision can take pictures and watch UA-cam videos, while the patriots has more color filter options.
They both use the same hardware so have a very similar magnification. Although the patriot seems to handle high magnification better giving a cleaner image. Other than that, it just comes down to the extra features and what you’re looking for.
I would just like to say, thank you so much for your video on the iris vision. You inspired me to try different devices, and the iris vision was the best. I have already paid for it and waiting for it to be delivered in the mail. Again thank you so much for introducing this wonderful piece of technology to me.
I think this is so great that sounds video you inspired you to try the wearable assistive technology I tried all five of them and patriot viewpoint work for me. I have two pair is the battery on less about three hours on them but they are life-changing and I will let you know that you found a device that works for you. The best advice I can give anyone would be if say I rescission does not work for you try another device there about five on the market you have to try them off to find one that works best for you and patriot viewpoint work for me. I am truly inspired reading the stories
They’re both using the same hardware so you could argue that the digital magnification results are the same. However, some of the features they have are different so that’s where you need to make a decision of which will work best for you.
Hello Sam, Have you been able to geta sample of NuEyes E2 to review? I am sure that we all want to know how it compares to Iris Vision and Patriot Viewpoint, before investing 3 grand. F. B. Bauer MD
Hi Sam My opthalmologist advised me to minimize screen time to essential as LED screens can worsen Stargardts. I was wondering if that's the case then would using such devices do more harm than good as you would have a led screen strapped in front of your eyes What's do you reckon

Yes, as John said, you can use it to see the small detail of all sorts of things. One thing to remember though, when looking at a computer screen using any sort of device that magnifies, you’ll only be seeing a small section of the screen so you may need to move your head around in order to see the entire screen.
I recently tried both the Patriot and an Irish vision at a live vision clinic. I found out that the Irish vision was a older version, but from what I was seeing the Irish vision at highest magnification had very thin almost thready font , or as the Patriot had clear and easy to read text at its highest magnification, even though the magnification was slightly less. It may be improved and the new version but I think I have heard that the Patriot still gives the better picture.. Irish vision has other features but I don't know that that would outweigh the Use Christmas of text for me.
i Bought a used s8 plus and a new samsung vr hedset for about 400. I will be installing the software by samsung later today : Relumino: i will see if it holds up or not, also samsung is or has anoused new glass at CES this year bast on the same technology.
Prior E-Sight clients have all told me that the Patriot ViewPoint has been way superior than their E-Sight - in fact you can speak to them direct just call us for their name and number and they’ll be happy to share their experience - triple the field of view, $7000 less expensive and over 7000 times better was what a client told us the other day. We commend all manufacturers that strive to service the vision impaired - You the client is who we serve! But as always judge for yourself, always!
I can only give you my opinion on the matter but I would say, absolutely yes! I’ve tried every version of eSighr and none of them work for me. The patriot viewpoint works phenomenally! And has more features and functionality! And as John said, it’s a lot less expensive!
This is a wonderful device. But, justifying it to VR and or being able to afford it yourself is simply unrealistic. I do understand that technology isn't cheap. But, I sure wish something like this was more affordable for the visually impaired general public that could benifit form something like this the most. It's still a wonderful device. If you can afford it.
Well the eSight was the first device that came out. Their device was $10k. There have been others that came out since at a much lower price point because they also felt this technology should be accessible. Once people can buy IrisVision through insurance, that will be the big game changer.
Ask oneself this, do I walk when I’m using my computer, enjoying a play, watching tv, seated at the theatre, enjoying a concert, traveling on a safari, at the stadium watching sports, enjoying your kids soccer game, on a park bench seated watching the birds, and on the cruise ship zoned in on the humpback whales? ESight , if used fit walking, is still a major obstruction for mobility. With Patriot ViewPoint you see the widest field of view and brightest clearest image, in fact triple the field of view as compared to ESight.
the problem i have with all these things are would you wear them out in public . why cant they put all this stuff in a nice pair of sunglasses like nueyes does or did .
Yes, I actually wear mine out in public quite often. We went out yesterday through the neighborhood looking at yard decorations and I wore the Iris vision. I would much rather enjoy seeing what I want to instead of worrying what people thought of how I looked.

At $2995 it's $2000 more than I am prepared to pay!
The field of view looks to be the best out of all current wearable eyewear, I'm definitely going to try it out!
pduffy83usa If, after you try it out, could you let us know what you think of it?
I certainly will, I'm trying it later next week!
Good luck, I hope you like it!
Have you got a chance to try it? The NuEyes e2 has a similar field of view.

Are there more compact devices in 2022? I'm mostly looking for something that could boost brightness when walking my dog in the evening.
Are the iris vision still your favorite? I too have Star guards.. not going to bother with spell check lol
Can you do video compare the iris vision and patriot view point? Thanks
Would you recommend getting this device Sam or should I get the Iris Vision

The Blind Life a video comparing the NuEyes e2 and the Patriot will be amazing. That’s my delinks right now. Any luck yet?

Sorry Sarah but unfortunately I don’t have the patriot anymore. Had did send it back.

Could this device be used to magnify things on a computer? Thanks Sam
Steven Zhunio-Hoffman yes absolutely you can wear and see your computers tablets etc

vera lipa Looks like it’s $2,995.00 from their site
I just went to the website. It is $2,995.00.

when you say it use when you say it uses the power of samsung does that mean you have to have one so the thing can work
No, it comes with the device.
This is really awesome. I think it'd actually work for me. Unfortunately I don't have the right phone. I have an iPhone.
What kind of phone you have makes no difference as the device doesn't use your phone to work, it uses the samsung one inside the device itself.

It is a VR headset with a phone running a specialized app but it’s proprietary, you can’t put it on your own phone and use it. Not this app anyway.
