My take on this fight's ending is...well, I think it's a very respectful way to put Anakin out of his suffering. Offering one final chance to be with his love, away from all the pain and betrayal of his order...it's quite nice conceptually and visually, and I can't even be mad about it. As for would it work or not...as far as I'm aware, Vader's NEVER dealt with a mental attack on the same scale as the Infinite Tsukuyomi. He has mental resistances sure, which explains how he could power through Obito's smaller Genjutsu attack. The Tsukuyomi, though, is far more powerful; I mean, imagine surviving a stick of TNT going off vs an atomic bomb - that's the kind of difference we're talking about. Also, Vader himself is still a very emotional man, and has been suseptible to manipulation/psychological abuse throughout his life.
Vader HAS dealt with mental attacks the same as infinite tsukuyomi. He can resist any of Obito’s high large attack

To answer Dwayne's question, Darth Vader's ability to negate mind attacks can't protect him from massive, planet-spanning abilities that force victims into eternal dreams. Even if he could resist the Tsukuyomi, he wouldn't have enough time to escape before Obito would finish him off due to his comparable speed and various durability-negating abilities.
But the force ISSSS eternal literally throughout the whole universe so it still made no sense especially when they can move objects from other planets...especially if you could predict the future 😅

@@shenkaze4804 It is that easy tho, all he needed was the ten tails and here he had it in it's full power unlike the show where nine tails and eight tails were missing and hence without having to wait to gain enough power for the missing tails, its instant.
@@Satori227 No it’s not that easy. To summon the ten tails. First, you have to have access to the Gedo Statue (which Obito is able to do with his Rinnegan) and the chakra of all 9 tailed beasts. And even then, you have to actually go through the process of sealing the chakra inside the statue to summon it successfully. And becoming the Ten Tails Jinchuriki by sealing it inside you is a whole nother process entirely.
Regardless, I’m not saying that Obito couldn’t beat Vader at all. But what I am saying is that for Obito to beat Vader by simply summoning the Ten Tails and then become its Jinchuriki is circumstantial at best because thats saying this whole battle was purely meant to benefit Obito instead of being realistic and fair by avoiding the entire process that’s required for him to achieve that kind of power. It’s not realistic to say that Obito with just his sharingan and rinnegan can summon the fully manifested ten tails whenever he wants to (and if you are going to let him do that, there should be some context to explain how he was able to do so on his own) and become its Jinchuriki in a matter of seconds. And yes I do know DB’s idea of putting opponents against each other at their strongest forms, I don’t agree with it but it is what it is just like this fight is what it is.

Even though Vader lost this match it wasn’t by much and honestly it really shows how terrifying he is considering that it took the most OP Naruto abilities to take him down.

The Infinite Tsukuyomi could possibly have been broken by a strongly willed Jedi like Obi-Wan, Jasmine, as their mental defences are extremely potent if they can resist temptation. Or they would at least have a slightly better chance.
Sadly, thats exactly what created Vader in the first place. Giving into temptation, whether it be for a lust of power or protecting those he loves, is practically his trademark.
i disagree with this solely because their is a comic where vader goes through basically this... and crushes it and moves on anyway.
The infinite tsukuyomi cannot be broken by anyone even if they have a very strong will they cannot get out of it because characters like Naruto who has a stronger willpower than obi wan can get caught by it and not only that even perfect jinchuriki that have a good connection with their Biju like killer b and Naruto can still get caught by it.
And genjutsu is not a normal mind control or illusions, genjutsu are very different, genjutsu have so many different types of usage.
the first one is normal that can be used by anyone if they have chakra they don't have to be an Uchiha or any can visual prowess clan to use that genjutsu but it cannot effect anything that doesn't have chakra and that's when we get into the second one
The second one which is the visual genjutsu which is a stronger version than normal one and it works on anyone or anything because say if a person who doesn't have chakra the visual genjutsu injects a very small amount of chakra into that person and uses it as tunneling system to attacks the brain and the spirit at the same time where it puts them in a statue like state and the only way to break out of it is by disturbing the chakra connection in that person's body and if they don't know who to do it then someone else who has chakra can break u out by touching u and then using their chakra to connect with urs and disturb it to break u out of it but that visual genjutsu works if you look in their eyes which leads into the third one.
The third one which special mangekyo sharingan genjutsu, which are very powerful genjutsu that you don't need to look in their eyes or even if you are looking in the other direction u would still get caught by it to get caught by them but for some of them if u close ur eyes u won't get effected but some of them can get u even if u close ur eyes genjutsu's like (Itachi's tsukuyomi) or (Shisui's Kotoametsukami) and those genjutsu's have different effects for example (Itachi's tsukuyomi)
(Itachi's tsukuyomi) sends and creates for ur mind and spirit a new universe where time flows differently in their for example in the novels on the night of the Uchiha massacre when Itachi was confronted by the girl that was an Uchiha that both her and Itachi had feelings for each other Itachi had her put in his tsukuyomi where he made a whole different reality for her where she was married to him and had a child with him and had an entire life time with him that she got old in it and died of old age and was happy and all of that life time experience was all in a nanosecond where when she was finished with the genjutsu and came back to reality her brain couldn't handle it and died still dreaming about it.
And (Shisui's Kotoametsukami) is even more busted where it can effect u miles and miles before even getting in contact with Shisui's presence and can effect large amount of people at the same time as stated by Shisui himself when he suggested to the elders and daimeo about his plan of changing the entire Uchiha clans mind with his Kotoametsukami but danzo interfered before that could happen.
and same like Itachi's tsukuyomi u cannot no matter how strong ur will is u cannot get out of it and both of them are not even close to the infinite tsukuyomi where nothing can escape it for all of eternity And only thing that could counter them is a the rinnegan and the otsutsuki clan.
The thing About Infinite Tsukuyomi is that its nothing like Jedi Mind techniques mental resistance doesn't matter its in a tier of its own. Putting aside the fact that Infinite Tsukuyomi is a technique on a whole different scale from anything we saw in Star Wars universe when it comes to mind control. There is no one in the entirety of Narutoverse except characters possessing Six Paths chakra and Ghosts/dead people who can resist it despite the fact that many of those affected characters are Genjustsu specialists themselves and/or are trained to fend off mental attacks.
To be frank it doesn't matter how good Vaders or any Jedi in Star Wars universe mental defenses are if they happen to be on the planet where this technique is activated they will fall under this technique and can do nothing to resist or free themself. This is simply how it works.

You should totally look at the other Death Battles from a few weeks ago. Those are all undoubtedly Absolute Bangers.
Anakin never got over the loss of Padme, so I'm guessing that made it easier for the God Tree illusion to work on him.
Infinite Tsukiyomi gives you what your heart truly desired, if you saw the anime it shows how many of the characters wanted the same thing: a life of love and happiness and for someone who's been manipulated into throwing that all away yeah it's easy for them to jump at a second chance
Obito did was he does best: freeing people from the pain of reality

I remember Vader breaking out of mind control strong enough to affect a galaxy and being completely immune to some of the strongest force wielders and force using creatures mind control but he cant handle a planet sized mind control? No not even planet sized it has to use the moon as a medium to spread it's reach to planet size.
I'm not saying Vader can't lose to Obito but dude has enough feats with mind manipulation that at the very least he isn't going down that way.

This fight is just about perfect for me. They really put some care and somber emotion in the fight. Vader is strong against mind games but for this dream that truly feels real, Anakin would never want to leave.
the episode explains that the Infinite Tsukuyomi works on people with mind resistances, and also that it would be in-character for Vader to hesitate or even fall into temptation even if he actually was able to do something

But madara was able to combine his with the tail beast, remember Uchiha and Senju are literally the descendants of the race that created chakra
Vader was aware of him being in an illusion despite its immense power. The reason he loses is because he would want to stay there. Even if this only buys Obito a few seconds, he was able to kill Vader.

This is a visceral kind of attack I don't see Vader surviving if he isn't aware while it hits him. He also needs his body to continue fighting, yet he can't regenerate any of it lost to the balls during the duel. I won't get into any powerscaling nonsense, however. It's clear neither of these characters are meant to be interpreted as destroying anything beyond continents with their powers, no matter the nature of their non-destructive capabilities (for the same reason that a time-travelling character can't be scaled to the ability to create a multiverse just because of the consequences of their time-travel).

Bro they disrespected darth vader. They're giving Obito a form that required years of planning and a whole war to acquire, yet they didn't give darth vader his form which enabled him to control space and time, plus we have seen him use the force to open a portal to another dimension. And Obito has no way of stopping the force. Darth vader was strong enough to hold literal star ships to the ground.

Meaning it's fair game since it's his tools to dispose of. If they used dark dimension Vader he would require outside help however Obito planned this and the death battle is using the war arc version so he has probably done everything prior to the death battle of course
Even individuals who were aware that they were in the infinite tsukuyomi: Tenten and other genjutsu users, even a weaker version that was shown with Sakura earlier in the series. Can know it is an illusion, but they want it to be real. It is an urge, a need to be real. Sakura met Naruto's parents in the test illusion, and let me tell you, it got a lot of details right. Like an alternate reality where people didn't die, and then a lot of different details that she couldn't believe.
Vader may have training, infact he could have rejected the illusion for a long time making himself tortured by what he sees and eventually powerful enough to escape it. BUT, that is possibly if he had the time to. Remember, a trained expert genjutsu user, itachi for example, was able to keep an individual trapped for days and weeks for an instant in an illusion. Infact, he made an illusion so powerful it was a full lifetime of peace and love for his love interest that ended up with her dying within a fraction of a second in the real world.
Vader could have had broken out of it eventually. But time passing in the genjutsu is up to the user, and considering this is the INFINTE TSUKUYOMI which is capable of being the perfect illusion in universe of the Naruto Series, I would say it is a defeat for Vader. Because his body is exposed to the many techniques that can destroy him physically and spiritually.
Honestly Vader should’ve won they nerfed him HARD.
Vader can cut through dimensions, he overpowered the Daughter and the Son, the literal embodiments of good and evil. Some of the abilities Obito had were ones he never used on his own and some others took time to actually activate. Plus it says the ten tails has almost infinite, so he’d run out eventually.
There is also the fact that they ignored the research from Obi wan vs Kakashi, that force users can potentially move black holes and that Anakin moved dreadnaughts. They also for got to mention full potential Vader dude was pretty much a god. In that vid they made a clear difference between external force and internal chakra. Plus force users have higher resistance to mental attacks and Obi wan broke out of Kakashi’s.

You really need to go back and watch the episodes you missed. Kilua VS Misaka, Rocket VS Stitch, Phoenix VS Raven... DAMN they're good episodes.

The basic Sharingan mind trick, Vader easily shrugged off, you saw it earlier when he saw Padme's face beneath the mask. But the actual Tree Moon Illusion is much more powerful and directly imprints upon the brain itself, bypassing the Chakra itself to directly drag in the brain.
Vader himself is also weak in the regard of temptation, he wants power, he wants revenge, he wants his life back. So there's a part of him that doesn't want to escape such an illusion, which would cause it to last a little longer than if his mind was immune to such temptations.
But to Vader's credit, the Sharingan Genjutsu basic level was something he could deal with in under 2 seconds, the same type of attack that kept Kakashi in an illusion for several days.

I don’t like this ending, because the force helps them not get trapped in allusions. If you watch the Kashi versus Obi-Wan fight, he did the same thing with the Genjutsu, but he was able to wheel it off with the force.
How are they going to give Obito the whole ass 10 tail form but Vader doesn't get his Dark Dimension form? And yeah you're right Vader should've been able to resist that mind trick.

Infinite Tsukuyomi traps anyone regardless except dead people or spirits
and probably robots (since IIRC Mecha Naruto being affected by Genjutsu is non-canon).
If Vader can survive until the light from the infinite tsukiyomi stops shinning then he could break it but until then he is trapped. If he breaks the genjutsu then 0.00001 seconds later he is back in it.

I feel like they kinda contradicted the force. Like in the Kakashi vs Obi wan fight didn’t they say something like the force is limitless and could hold/destroy planets or something like that, but the Jedi limit themselves so that they don’t cause stuff like that to happen? Well Vader’s a Sith so why would he limit himself like that? I don’t think he’d care. Granted I don’t think Vader’s able to destroy a planet anyway but like why change how the force works here?? I also felt like Obito would win but how he won just kinda felt… off. Like I don’t think making him see Padme would work all that much since in a comic he basically choked her out again in his head while considering joining her in death.

This fight was weird cus Obito can't reach 10 Tails mode on his own and they gave it to him, but Vader went to another dimension(canon) and killed the whole Council including Yoda and Mace after going into a "Godkiller mode" where his full potential was unleashed and yet they didn't include that form.
Another thing I think is weird is that people say he would succumb to the Tsukiyomi, but it takes way too much time to activate and Vader doesn't think of himself as Anakin or even hesitate unless it's actual family(Ahsoka/Luke) speaking to him. He treats Anakin's wants and desires as that of another person.
People like Thrawn and ObiWan have tried to pull it out of him and while his words may be viewed to have deeper meaning in some subconscious form, he's never meant them as anything other than disdain or taunting. "You are delusional to think your actions have had ANY consequences(he wants to show you that you're useless in every way that he can)...."I am not your failure," he's referring to Anakin as a failure, he's not accepting that his pain wasn't ObiWan's doing, as ObiWan interprets it. He's speaking literally, but ObiWan interprets it as he needs in order to let go of his guilt. And Vader requires the opposite in order to keep going. He doesn't take responsibility because he doesn't see himself in the wrong. He's had years of brainwashing to cement his hatreds). You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker, I did." He may have questionable moments, but until Luke enters into his life, his former memories, even of Padme are that of another person.
When Sidious gifts him Padme's ship, Vader burns it to match his own skin. When Ahsoka sees him he offers her a seat as an Inquisitor and then death once she learns that it's him. He attempts to pervert and destroy everything having to do with his old life. Showing him what he craved most as Anakin would only infuriate him into destroying everything. Especially if it's later in a fight when he knows he's being manipulated.
Honestly, it makes sense on why someone like Obi-Wan could escape a genjutsu while Darth Vader couldn’t because people overlook their mindset and ties to their respective sides of the force. Obi-Wan was trained to be a true Jedi, which he was, and one of the teachings of a Jedi is to look pass your own desires and emotions so as not to be consumed by them, to the point where even your loved ones, past or present, and what happens to them should not take precedent over the Way of the Jedi. Anakin gave into all of that which turned him into the Dark Side’s greatest warrior, which makes it more likely for him to accept an illusion of something or someone he lost and wishes to have back despite knowing it is impossible. Plus, Vader is super screwed up in the head. Between losing his wife, thinking his children had died with her, forced to kill younglings to have a chance at saving his family, fighting his Jedi master, being bathed in lava, put into an obsolete mechanized suit design to drive you mad for the rest of your waking days, and all the hell Palpatine put him through with everything said in his breakdown… it’s honestly not that hard to believe that Vader gave into that final illusion Obito put on him.

They did the same thing with Madara and gave him a form he can't achieve on his own against Aizen...Vader also controlled and forced both the Light and Dark Gods of the Force to kneel before him when he was Anakin and then he also used the Force to OPEN A DOOR TO ANOTHER DIMENSION! And then they give Obito the Ten Tails Form which takes Time and Perp to do but dont give Vader his god form which can literally control space and time!? And all of this is indeed Canon! DB really be cherry picking these fights sometimes...
He doesn't have a god form; its an infinitely more situational thing he did using a portal to look into the timestream. That form is just what he looks like while travelling.

your wrong about that, obito was preping to get the 10 tails into its original state, he already had the ability to summon the 10 tails. if youve seen naruto you would know that hagoromo split the 10 tails power into 9 different beasts however obito kept the body of the 10 tails that had no life as again hagoromo took all its power out its body. once the 10 tails is in its original state it stays in its original state permanently, its not temporary which was why they gave obito the 10 tails. obito permanently had access to its power without outside help, the same goes for madara as he also had permanent access to the beast.
the only thing needed to summon the 10 tails was a RINNEGAN, thats all you needed, and both obito and madara had those. At this point you should just watch naruto. death battle wasnt cherry picking anything there, if you had seen the show naruto you would know this. its the same reason they gave aizen the hogyoku even though it wasnt his. aizen stole the hogyoku and merged it with him and so it permanently became his, obito is the same he stole his rinnegan and it became his permanently.
17:00 two things, first. Anakin never mastered his jedi arts, only became a knight. So skills that Yoda or Luke have alligned with hedi arts like force mind protection are beyond him.

Genjutsu only works on those with the chakra network so no Vader wouldn’t be affected by it. Everyone in Naruto has the chakra network; Hagoromo only taught them how to mold chakra. Chakra only flows in the chakra network so he wouldn’t be able to give them chakra if they didn’t already have the chakra network in their bodies. We also see other species have the chakra network such as dogs, hawks, and such who have no ties to Hagoromo.
For Dwayne the reason why Darth Vader didnt break free form Infinite Tsyukomi is not because He WASN'T able to but RATHER he doesnt want to remember Infinite Tsukuyomi is a tailor made illusion to the person after all would Vader really break free form an illusion where he reunited with Padme
Hey everyone to better explain the potency of the infinite Tsukuyomi look at Killer bee and Sasuke. Killer Bee broke outta Sasuke’s gen justsu bc of the eight tails but even he got caught in the infinite Tsukuyomi as for Sasuke he even knew he would be caught in it he had is brother’s eyes as well he had but it was not going to prevent the effects of the Tsukuyomi

He knows how to protect himself from these attacks, and he has experience with The Force directly giving him delusions. So I'm going to say Vader has the tool kit to bust out of this thing if he realizes it's not real.
@@RequiemPoete there are levels to illusions in Naruto and with the infinite tsukuyomi specifically only a rinnegan can resist. Sasuke and Kakashi confirm this

So let's compare Vader's handling of Illusions. He once tapped into the Force Nexus on Mustafar while bleeding his Kybar Crystal, and The Force itself showed him an illusion of him returning to the Light and challenging Palpatine Vader saw through it to successfully bleed his crystal. So I'd say being shown an Illusion by the thing that permeates and binds all living things in the Universe and still seeing through it probably equals Obito's trick. So again, IF Vader could see through the illusion, he could bust out of it. I'm not even mad Vader lost, and the fight is just for show, so how he loses in it doesn't matter. Just pointing out Vader has dealt with God tier illusions before.

Genjutsu normaly woildnt work, but vader is so dang emotionally tied to padme, it works on him. Obi wan broke out cuz he has no attachments and more intunned to the force, it didnt work on him

Yeah, Vader could more than probably be able to bust out of Infinite Tsukuyomi (IT) if he wanted to. But that's the point. Wanting to, the reason IT is dangerous is that it puts you in your subconsciously perfect reality. You will not want to get out. Is a matter of want, not of could.
