Not a lot of people talk about it, but this is one of their best written post fight analysis that they’ve done. Saitama’s potential could be infinite, but his overall power output, even at its maximum, is still finite and measurable. While there’s a high possibility that Saitama could be stronger than Popeye, he didn’t have the means to permanently put him down for good. But also the distinction between an anime and old timey cartoon character are so different.
@@Kingshoutout-lw5gl I don’t think DB does outerversal or hyperversal tiering. Whereas multiversal and omniversal scaling is at least more consistent and even stated in fictional worlds.
@@Kingshoutout-lw5gl That’s not what I was saying. Fictional franchises have at least acknowledged omniversal whereas hyper and outer, to my knowledge, have not been.
@@Kingshoutout-lw5gl An omniverse, in terms of the real world, would be what we consider a 4th spatial dimension. In fiction, its the total collection of universes, multiverses and metaverses. Its hard to explain honestly and I'm not much of a versus debater but I'll try. Outerversal has always been a weird term to me. I know that versus debating is an inherently subjective thing by its very nature but outerversal is one of those terms that alway used to oversell a character's power and potential even if they haven't had accompanying feats to backup destroying their omniverses and beyond. Generally its trying to sell the idea that feats don't matter if they can just be said to that level; wank, to put it bluntly. But for feats of a character exiting into the real world and interacting with it, just sounds really dumb. There's Deadpool getting ready to kill the writer's of Marvel universe, but even with his multiple 4th wall breaks, he's still considered a street tier character. I've seen people consider Celestialsapiens from Ben 10 should be considered outerveral for changing the artstyle of the show, which is strange to me because that is very much contained within the dimensions of the show we see and it tells the audience that within the show, Celestialsapiens are powerful reality warpers. Or 4th wall breaking characters being considered outerversal because they're aware of the real world and have interacted with it. My problem is that it seems really weird to take this as a legit feat since this is still something that happen's within the world of the medium that the character takes place in. So the idea of Popeye beating the shit out of his animator, Bugs Bunny animating a cartoon to screw with Daffy, or Deadpool killing the Marvel writers sounds funny but it doesn't show higher levels of power, it just means they've bested regular humans working a 9-5 job. I don't think universal plus scaling is difficult, its just messy in terms of battlehoarding. Fictional universes that have larger observable universes than the real world's like DC, Marvel, and Dragon Ball, are argued for their universal characters being either multi-universal or multiverses. Then all that's before everyone has different ideas for how dimensional tiering works, which is a whole other thing too.
Saitama being stronger than Popeye is not a high possibility, what are you on? Popeye is aware of the real world, able to threaten his own artist, Rip & fix his own animation page and was not fazed when God turned off all of reality, reality warping, not to mention he has transmutation which is why Popeye turned Saitama into an egg just like how Popeye turned a bunch of villagers into coins, he's a toon force character. Saitama doesn't even come close to Popeyes power. Cartoon OP.
i feel like this episode should have ended with Saitama waking up. He goes back to the store, the little Popeye on the can waves at him and Saitama buys a can of Spinach.
Yah based on their Q and A's, Liam seems to be involved in most of the DC related match ups. And I can't speak for everyone, obviously, but at this point I've forgiven him for the Ben Vs GL (coming as someone who's yet to watch "Ben 10" personally, but is very interested to).
I mean it was clear from the beginning, at the end of the day the toon force, just like Disney toons, has no power limit. You could put Saitama against bugz bunny and he would still lose as toons break any laws of physics/reality, they just cannot be defeated, let alone killed.
Saitama exists in that weird spot where he's a gag character, but simultaneously very grounded. You can't really put him up against other shounen anime protagonists like Naruto or Goku because all feats we have of him are explicitly done to clown on these series and are in no way conclusive. There is no way to actually determine who would win in a fight between Saitama and Goku - which is probably the most requested (and most hotly debated) pairing for him. You'd never hear the end of it, no matter which way it would go, and both sides would have great points. The only thing they could do is acknowledge him as a gag character and find a pairing that would make for an interesting match-up no matter the outcome - which I'd say they've accomplished.

Fun fact. Okay, pointless fact : The image of spinach being such an amazing superfood came from a study that came out around the time Popeye started gaining popularity; due to a misplaced decimal point in the documentation, for a brief time, people thought Spinach had several times more iron than any other food in existence. Originally, in the comics predating the pre-movie animated shorts, Popeye got his strength from petting a 'Wiffle Hen'. A magic chicken. It was, of course, later changed to eating spinach.
I use to watch you guys about two years ago and I came back to check and see how you guys are doing , you haven’t changed a bit ! you guys are my comfort characters in a way keep it up I love you guys ❤️

Yes, Popeye had his own videogame in the 1980s. Robin Williams played Popeye in the Popeye movie. Lots of stars cameo'd in it. The battle broke reality, hence the changing of the graphics to 8 bit and 3D. In outer space, Popeye punched Saitama into Mars, blowing it up. The blue-green planet was Uranus. When Saitama lands on Pluto and Popeye on the Sun, they fly past the remaining planets and meet around Jupiter.

To make things a lot simpler, Popeye can punch the very artist that drew him while Saitama is (possibly) limited to his own universe/reality. This alone should've explained everything.
Funnily enough, Saitama can in fact also be severely limited by something that would make it a funnier fight. For example, Saitama has before, completely failed to beat a regular mosquito - because it’s funny. The strongest guy on earth still gets angry and can’t manage to get rid of that one annoying fly we all know. So Popeye would likely beat him in his own manga as well.

This was honestly a bad matchup. People keep thinking One-Punch Man's unrivaled strength is supposed to be an equivalent to Toonforce, when it's really not. The story of One-Punch Man isn't as rule-breaking as people make it out to be, the show has legit feats that are supposed to be taken seriously, despite it being satire.
Is it though? Saitama was overwhelmly outmatched here and would be against Supes or Goku as well. Heck, Krillin is more than enough to take down Saitama if they only put Saitama at planetary+ 🤷🏾♂️ Saitama is just overhyped when he’s fairly weak compared to other verses. Heck, DBZ verse is fairly weak compared to other verses as well
The problem with this fight is that people think toon force by itself means he wins. When that's not the point. He has canonical FIGHTING feats that can be compared to and exceeds Saitama's. It's not like they put him again Bugs Bunny and says Bugs wins because he could come out of the cartoon and erase him or something. And while I agree with the fight, I'm not sitting here thinking it's a total misrepresentation of the medium like the Ben 10 one was. Why do people take this one so seriously? And why do people act like Saitama is the End-all Be-all of fighters? I couldn't tell you exactly.
No he hasn’t. The manga proves death battles point. Saitama can potentially become limitless but he has to be able to reach that point . Cosmic Garou can also do this and he still lost why? Because he wasn’t able to grow more powerful fast enough. That same thing would happen to Saitama
@@batayou6819 some suggest that saitama already surpassed cosmic fear garou in the beginning before the fight started another words he didn't grow at all he more so withdraw more power to just subdue garou considering his aim was just to wore him down because of Tareo's favor. There's evidence suggesting he actually is limitless according to the dialogue with Dr genus with zombieman, garou even stated that he is limitlessly strong when he was getting beaten up pretty badly, even the fight with boros in which he couldn't sense a limit to his energy. There's also an audiobook which was about genos training simulation in which the simulation could make someone challenge any character in opm and there was a point were saitama fought yesterday saitama and still managed to one punch his yesterday's self which is strong evidence that he really is limitless.

The story of One-Punch Man isn't as rule-breaking as people make it out to be, the show has legit feats that are supposed to be taken seriously, despite it being satire.
Well it's still better than Saitama VS Goku/Superman.
@@captainvalkyrie999 true lmao🤣
Is it though? Saitama was overwhelmly outmatched here and would be against Supes or Goku as well. Heck, Krillin is more than enough to take down Saitama if they only put Saitama at planetary+ 🤷🏾♂️ Saitama is just overhyped when he’s fairly weak compared to other verses. Heck, DBZ verse is fairly weak compared to other verses as well
Popeye is 2d saitama is 3d.
@@mrkmoney1234 You cant call a character weak if you haven't even seen him being weak.
The only two out right now are Jonx Vs Harley Quinn and the most recent is Scarlet Witch Vs Zatanna
For those wondering popeye turned those native Americans into buffalo nickles
Harley Quinn VS Jinx (DC VS League of Legends) is already out
Hey remember he did punch a whale into an oil rig. That's residual income right there
About time to see you guys react to this balderdash fight!
Thank you now do
Harley Quinn vs Jinx and Scarlet Witch vs Zatanna
Don't forget 'Harley Quinn vs Jinx'!
This was probably my second favorite DB with the animation changes.
He took a big gamble, but now he is scrambled! I'm Popeye the Sailorman! (toot toot!)
I wonder how this fight would go now Saitama has more or less transcended anime power scales and seemingly entered cartoon territory.
No he hasn’t. The manga proves death battles point. Saitama can potentially become limitless but he has to be able to reach that point . Cosmic Garou can also do this and he still lost why? Because he wasn’t able to grow more powerful fast enough. That same thing would happen to Saitama
@@batayou6819 Saitama farted his way across the solar system in seconds and you don't think he has entered cartoon territory?
@@DreJr no because the universe itself still takes itself somewhat seriously
14:01 it's actually not that bad either plus Popeyes played by Robin Williams
Dwayne, the great Robin Williams played Popeye in the 1980 movie.
ITS FINALLY HERE
I knew Popeye would win this Death Battle because he's nothing without his spinach
🔥🔥🔥☠☠☠
Ouch, probably should have watched the video first
@@dogegang7743 damn lol
@@dogegang7743 bruh. The battle has been out for 3 months
@@rmdza7926 Okay, that's on me, I admit, but, better late then never never 😌👍👌😎😏
Remember his feats *without* spinach.
Popeye's tv show was a brilliant way to get kids to eat their spinach. It made all of us wanna eat spinach as kids, but then quickly change our minds after trying it. Lmao 🥦🤢🤮
I love spinach 😂 not as much as popeye
Yes, finally! I was starting to get worried youd just stopped doing death battles!
These new death battle episodes have been far more high quality (for the most part) than most old episodes.
14:32 I just realized not only is that not expensive it is really really cheap >.15$ at the yen's highest value in the lass 5 years.
14:02 EH, Thats Robin Williams Show some respect!!!
Interesting fact, Popeye's design is based on a real person named Frank 'Rocky' Fiegel and he was called Popeye because he used to get into a lot of fights which messed up his eye
Can we all agree that 3D Popeye saying "I eats me spinach" is pure nightmare fuel?
I don’t since I seen way scarier things on rule 34
What is rule 34?
0:20 Lol you predicted what Boomstick said
Please do Death Battle Scarlet Witch vs Zatanna.
Im just sad that they did not play Popeyes theme when he ate his spinach.... sad day.
BTW HUGE fane of you 2!!! keep up the good work!!!
Can you guys react to Pokémon vs digimon death battle?
By the time I heard Boomstick say Popeye survived the universe being turned off I knew that Saitama was doomed to fail.
Please react to Scarlet Witch vs Zatanna death battle
Ive been wanting you guys to do this for so long
Popeye was my dude as a kid. I must admit the ending did make me smile! One punch man should’ve won but I wasn’t unhappy at all!
No he shouldn’t have, Popeye is on the next level of cartoon BS. His victory was correct.
Saitama is a planet buster very weak in other verses
@@MadMax-ii8gq Like I said though, I wasn’t upset at all. In fact the kid in me actually smiled when Popeye won!
Saitama is not nearly even on the same level as Popeye. Popeye is on Bugs Bunny BS, Saitama gets absolutely clapped.
@@MadMax-ii8gq the ending is great. Saitama finally finds a match where he can go all out.
Since season 9 is out now, I think you two should watch harley quinn vs jinx and scarlet witch vs zatanna
Please react to Scarlet Witch vs Zatanna
FINALLY!! What took y'all so long?!
