May we all have your blessings Father Peter ☦️ 2Peter 3:9, KJV: "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
Thanks be to God for the blessed Saint Tikhon! And may we all remember God and put away the evil of our hearts, as he has counseled us, to the remission of our sins and to life everlasting.
Repentance has been life for me. From death to beginning life! Coming from the secular indoctrination I'm repenting now (after two years of becoming a Catechumen), all day long. I wouldn't be surprised if that never changes! 😅 But I'm hoping when I get baptized that might help. 🤔🙏🕊 But I cannot believe the gift repentance is. Life, life, life x 1000. Glory to our Saints for God!!!
“There really is no more East/West. It’s all been united in the same worldly spirit.” I have been thinking a lot about this topic lately. I live in the United States I'm in a deaconate class right now where a lot of people seem to enjoy looking down on the United States and speaking of "Eastern" countries as if they were a Holy Land to look up to and I fail to understand their point of view. When I visit and meet people from other countries and watch television from Greece and Russia It all seems to have the same issues and problems as the US to me. I understand that the people in my class are somehow looking for an identity, but rather than looking to the church (the saints and the Holy Fathers), they're looking towards other countries which I think is very unfortunate.
There are remnants and there is the deep core of Russian and Greek culture which is Orthodox and identifies as Orthodox and looks in the past, so they may be referring to this ultimately. Popular culture, not church culture, is of course highly influenced by the worldly spirit which is historically grew and developed most robustly in the west.
The unfortunate reality is, that the Gospel of repentance has now come to be considered as "hate speech", and "organised" Christianity as a "hate group".
I bet that one day soon any philosophy or religion that does not have total inclusivity as its highest value will be categorized as a hate group and persecuted.

Father, you say there is no west, east, but we can only serve one of two masters and only one of two spirits! The spirit of God, our lord in his Mystery or of the evil one in his delusions! This would be what we mean by discerning east from west?

SAINT Tikhon of Moscow, please heal me...

Great teaching inspired by Christ our God.
this is so true and sad at the same time! :(

Deeply appreciate the honest and raw truth of Father Peters' words. We need to both hear and practice the truth. God have mercy on all of us.
O Holy Hierarch Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow, pray for us sinners!!☦️🙏

Appreciate the shorter clips
Definitely. Great for sharing - many people do not have the ability to watch a 3hr lecture
