Jennifer, I love that you showed your apple slices recipe. My grandma made something by that name and so similar. I can never get her crust recipe to work (egg yolks in it?), either she doubled it and never noted it or had a much smaller pan than me. Plus hers had crushed cornflakes sprinkled over the apples and on the top crust the egg whites are beaten first then spread on. They make a fluffy, crunchy topping. (Glaze too!) You sure brought back happy memories. Maria's zinnias are lovely. I grow them too to send brighten my MIL's room in her care center. Can't believe your early cranberry harvest will soon be here. Thank you for the gracious visit with your family.

You dinner looked delicious! The apple dessert looks so good. Apples are in here. Honeycrisp season is in full swing! Usually, the deer eat most of mine. That’s okay… I miss having chickens! So nice to be able recycle chicken scraps and old bread and cereal, etc. loved seeing the ducks !

Hi Jennifer. I've gotta tell you when that Crisco/lard totally flew by the measuring cup and plopped on the countertop, I cracked up. I have done that so many times. I can't tell you. The apple dessert was so beautiful with its rustic look.

Hi Jennifer! Hoping this day finds you and the family well and happy. I really enjoy watching how you and the family spend your days doing ordinary things. There’s something so grounding and peaceful about it. I really want to try the hug and kiss soup! I’ve been wanting to for a while now, but honestly completely forget. I actually went to Costco last night, but forgot celery and carrots , so I’ll try to pick them up this week. (As if I didn’t spend enough lol). Warren and the kids are such good people albeit they never complain about anything you cook. My family seems to think I’m running a diner. Everyone wants different things. I miss the way I grew up. I ate what my parents made, never, ever complaining about it or questioning it. Im guessing it’s a New York thing because supply is in abundance and so is being spoiled. I think I’ll move to where you live one day. Much more pleasant.😊
I've read that placing bars of Irish Spring soap around an area will keep mice at bay. At very least, it'll smell good :-)
The entire supper looks absolutely delicious!! One of the things that I especially enjoy is watching you roll out pie crust. I think it’s because you take the time to make sure it’s done right 😊

Can you take all homeschool supplies off your taxes, I’m just curious? Warren didn’t want chili, that’s a shocker. I get Northern Spy apples they don’t fit in any of the corers/slicers. Bread looks beautiful.
No, homeschool supplies are not tax deductible, at least not in WI.

Jennifer thanks for another video. My elementary school experience was at a Catholic school. The nuns excelled in grammar, literature & cursive handwriting. I had to transfer to public school at 7th grade & never liked it as much. I was ahead in literature which I loved.
I would fail math every thing is so different. I would get the same answer but do it wrong. Old school.
