You can guard against it to guarantee success if you know it’s coming, or you can find lucky coins to double or triple your success rate. At it’s base though it is 50/50 which is scary.
I find it interesting that the Guard said that it was born from r-word(or something akin to that, cannot remember the exact words) so maybe a child from r-word that resulted into pregnancy (at least inside the dungeon) is cursed/something happens to them that they mutate and turn into a guard later in life?
