I like the sound of the exhaust with both the Magnaflow, and the straight pipe, but I think it was better with the Magna. I'm wanting an aftermarket exhaust for my Camaro with NPP, but think I will definitely stick with a system that utilizes the NPP so I can quiet it down when coming home down my street. While I like to have fun and be loud as much as the next person, I prefer friendly neighbors vs. an always loud exhaust. On another note. I do not understand why car dealers feel the need to spoil the paint of every car that passes through their dealership with permanent adhesive decals - even on brand new $75k+ ZL1, Demons, and Mustang GT350s, GT500s or Shelbys. Removal or attempted removal of the decals always leaves some lasting damage to the paint or clear coat. I understand wanting advertisement for their dealerships, but use a license plate frame. I refuse to purchase a car from any dealer who has applied those decals.
Yes the Magnaflows are kind quiet, but Borla Ataks are loud asf. My son has a Charger Widebody 392. With just a resonator delete. And that’s loud enough, this sounds insane lol.
You took a 3" Stainless exhaust system off just to replace it with a 2.5" alumanized exhaust? Makes absolutely NO sense..All he needed to do to make It louder would have been take the 3" x pipe off of it and weld 3" pipes back in the x pipes place..

Waste of more money the straight pipe it, that Magnaflow system was perfect. Not to loud and not raspy, it had a perfect sound and tone when taking off. But ehh people can do what ever they with their cars and feel like to throw away their money 🤷🏻♂️
First one is better. It’s a quality sound, as opposed to a loud bark. And I’m guessing the truck had its cat cut and stolen, and the guy can’t come to terms with getting a new one. Thieves are low life. 🤙
@@iiroyalty2519 what do think straight piping does? 😂 You’re barking up the wrong tree. And it’s a factory Y-pipe on mine so there’s only one muffler to begin with. I just got rid of the factory one that was the size of a home water heater and put a 14” bullet style.
Still can't beat a Flowmaster 40 series with an h pipe. I dont personally don't think the x pipe was reducing the sound beforehand. I've had many custom exhausts thanks to my childhood friends family owning an exhaust shop..anytime you delete mufflers, resonators or cats it's going to be louder, harsher and raspy sounding..thats why I usually delete cats, add hi flow resonator and either run a high flow baffled muffler or straight pipes. Good thing about the high flow baffled design muffler is it cuts out that drone at cruising speeds but when your young, newbie car guy you want it louder the better. Car sounded great before and after and new exhaust looked well done.
Put both setups on a dyno, and I guarantee the 2.5" straight pipe setup has lost power over the 3.5" magnaflow setup. Pure volume doesn't mean shit if it takes power away
That was interesting. If had a chance at this car I would have simply swapped the X for a 3" H pipe. It likely would have given the classic burble without losing the big pipes. Thanks for the video!
This is what we would do in the old days. We didn't have $4,000 to buy what is essentially straight pipes. How it sounds is completely subjective to the owner and what he likes.
Mistake to take the Magnaflow system off. Don't get me wrong, I love loud. In fact I have a muffler and resonator delete and I'm happy with it, but no way I would take the Magnaflow system off if I had started with that. Both ways sound good to me. No need to swap either way for such a small difference.
I had my camaro straight piped with flowmaster outlaws. I got older n got tired of the drone on the highway. I put a borla atak and its loud when I want it.
I’m generally not even a huge fan of magnaflow especially at 4g, but that sounded great and was loud at rev. Amazing customer didn’t just spend 5-600$ to straight pipe it 1st if there was any questions as to what they wanted😬.

I know people are gonna hate me for this, but I like the True Dual straight pipe. Sounds similar to the 2019+ charger scatpack. Sounds like a racecar, similar to an AMG, C7R or any BMW -50i series engine. Kinda sucks it takes a lil horsepower away, but it gives it a low tone. That's just my honest opinion.
If you ain’t straight pipin a hemi, you ain’t doin it justice. That magnaflow was ok, but that raspy crisp tone added by just sizing the exhaust down really makes the sound pop
But if I had to honestly vote, the Magnaflow set up sounded very nice! The straight piped system sounded just blasting loud! 😆 Didn't sound bad, but I think the Magnaflow won in this comparison. My car is straight piped so, I get it. But with these two comparisons, the Magnaflow, in my opinion, won this sound off!
So you took off a 3-inch MagnaFlow exhaust with an x-pipe which will have much better flow than a two and half inch on such a big engine I think the two and half inch straight pipe sounds terrible but to each his own
Just loud. Sounds like every straight piped pickup in the small town I grew up in. The crackle is just abrasive to the eardrums and doesn't sound good IMO.
So you replaced mandrel bent tubing with crush bent, removed a perfectly good x-pipe crossover and added crappy welds and someone paid you for that??? BTW, you should stop throwing that “straight pipe” naming convention around so much. It’s not straight pipes unless all of the silencing elements (including the converters) are removed.

And here i am working on cleaning up that slapping exhaust sound and clearing it up. Lol crazy that there are some people that like that noise
You took a 3" Stainless exhaust system off just to replace it with a 2.5" alumanized exhaust? Makes absolutely NO sense..All he needed to do to make It louder would have been take the 3" x pipe off of it and weld 3" pipes back in the x pipes place..
I've nevr heard of someone saying 3" cuts sound or anything like that. I'm just shocked they did this.
@@169abr I have NEVER seen a 3" exhaust system be quieter than a 2.5" system unless it has a WAY bigger muffler, more mufflers or more converters than the 2.5" system.Theres NO WAY I would have taken that stainless system off that car.. It's like going from a Lambo to a Buick Regal..smh
Some people don't deserve to have nice things
I think the little white pick-em-up truck sounded the best 🤣
Wow the straight pipe sounds terrible compared to the magnaflow. Not to mention the HP loss from stepping down to 2.5 inch pipes
It went from sounding good to sounding rice.
The Magnaflow was all it needed, it sounds sloppy now.
The magnaflow sound matched the speed it was going. Maybe could e just changed the X pipe
I just watched the end of this to see who spends this kind money on exhaust and I was right but hey, I’m happy for him if it makes him happy.
😂
My 2010 F-150 hits 115 dB at only 3500-4000RPM(rev limiter when in park) and it’s bone stock except for an $80 muffler and K&N filter.
😂
Thats because your 80$ "muffler" does nothing you deleted your mufflers of course its louder
@@iiroyalty2519 what do think straight piping does? 😂
You’re barking up the wrong tree.
And it’s a factory Y-pipe on mine so there’s only one muffler to begin with. I just got rid of the factory one that was the size of a home water heater and put a 14” bullet style.
I like both of them, but the first one sounded better. The second one sounds a lot raspy.
Straight pipe,that's the way I have mine.🤘👍💪
The sound on the first one with was a better sound, the 2nd one was kind of distorted
Yall cut off a perfectly good exhaust to lose power and make it sound worse? Aight
the straight pipe sounds like every hood scat pack I swear
I like how the other challenger came up with him it looked like a 5.7 hemi
4:03 350z in the background lol
That magna flow sounded way better.
The magnaflow was great wtf. Dude just likes blowing money I guess.
That was interesting. If had a chance at this car I would have simply swapped the X for a 3" H pipe. It likely would have given the classic burble without losing the big pipes. Thanks for the video!
That owner for sure had some regrets sounds like it’s taking a shit instead of an actual growl ..
This is what we would do in the old days. We didn't have $4,000 to buy what is essentially straight pipes. How it sounds is completely subjective to the owner and what he likes.
MAGNAFLOW sounds way better than the straight pipe set-up! ANd I can see mostly everyone concurs.
I thought boss was tripping but customer made it worse and made it slower and sounds like terrible should kept exhaust and did cat deletes
I’m generally not even a huge fan of magnaflow especially at 4g, but that sounded great and was loud at rev. Amazing customer didn’t just spend 5-600$ to straight pipe it 1st if there was any questions as to what they wanted😬.
Both those cars are super sick! The individual that cut that magnaflow is an idiot but his preference.
Bro just install some stainless works or american racing long tube headers with catless or hi flow cats with no muffler and will sound extreamly loud and absolutely amazing. Then cam it if you have the money and will sound so so mean and good
Ranger wins 🎉 clean custom work too.
Right on
You can take the driver out of the rice but you can’t take the rice out of the driver ;)
That's just my honest opinion.
i just realized that there are houses up the hill, the people that live there gotta get so annoyed sometimes with all the noise lmao, tough
Sounded way better with the magnaflow. But hey it's his car.
$4,000 for an exhaust is outrageous. I would never spend that much on a damn exhaust system.
You just let that Ranger National treasure ride like that? 😆 cmon give em some duals
Magnaflow sounds way better imo
All these experts in the comments…. Thr man wanted it straight piped. Show some love.
Them scatpack owners be doing the most
So you took off a 3-inch MagnaFlow exhaust with an x-pipe which will have much better flow than a two and half inch on such a big engine I think the two and half inch straight pipe sounds terrible but to each his own
That color is awesome too
Just loud. Sounds like every straight piped pickup in the small town I grew up in. The crackle is just abrasive to the eardrums and doesn't sound good IMO.
I need that straight pipe setup on my SP let's make it happen.
He should’ve left the magnaflow system on. It sounds much better with it on
Sell that man with the ranger a thrush welded muffler!
Louder doesn’t mean better, the magna flows sounded better.
I surprised nobody's built a 6 wheel Challenger yet. Give it another Axle in the back 😉 just a idea
On the straight pipe exhaust where the valves where at, am I able to tuck them away on my 22 scat pack?
Yes you
Can
Only idiots like straight pipe exhaust on a street car.
Hook up the poor guy who got his cat stolen a free pipe!
Y’all should fix that white truck just cause. That would make his day.
