There will be plenty of v8s for years to come. Since your name is 5.0 Coyote I assume you want a mustang or f-150 and I assure you that ford built millions of the coyote engine and with enough money you could build/restore a mustang or f-150.
@That V8 Life Look up the science behind x-pipes. its not just to “even” out the cylinder banks. it helps with a process called “scavenging” removing the x pipe may make it slightly louder but you WILL lose horse power. there are other options if you dont want the factory x pipe you can go with a double x pipe or a h pipe/ double h pipe
Downsizing from the factory 3'' headers to 3'' mids to 2.75'' to the resonator is designed for maximum power by using 2.5'' piping kiils power (should've went 3'' to the tailpipe) also eliminating the x pipe just killed Low end trq 100% X-pipe creates a venturi effect, which helps pull the exhaust gases out of the cylinder faster along with creating back pressue, low end torque, and horsepower. If sound (loud) was the intention go catless and delete the mid muffler which would've added power not take away this car EASILY just lost 20-35 wheel hp. Why 2.5 inch system? I thought all Hellcats (starting in 2015)came with 3 inch piping. It definitely needs 3 inch system for it to take full advantage of all power and sound.
@@reborn9110 most 700hp vehicles would be forced injection. A dual 2.5" exhaust is different when the piping doesn't go past the middle car, compared to when the piping goes all the way to the rear of the car. It’s a thing dude. At the store we sell Magnaflow header flange kits and the most popular version is the 3 inch to 2.5 inch 3 bolt flange collector. There’s cheap knockoff stuff on Amazon, Herman Hedders #21123. I agree it does seem like a restriction and I would personally keep the 3 inch. But there is something to be said about exhaust velocity and escape pressure over pure potential flow volume. Idk he should’ve kept the 3 inch.
Makes more of a difference on diesels I have a 12 valve Cummins 5inch all the way with a 10inch tip sounds deep af but my friends 7.3 power stroke has 2.5 inch pipe all the way sounds like a gasser when it hits rev limiter
Ok so it gets complicated and I am no expert but think about it like this. The diameter of the pipe is determined by how much air flow you want. So in a way yes it is a restriction. But there is more to it than that. There is also air temperature and air density to consider. The science behind all that is complex and becomes really important when you boost a motor. So imagine that we stayed at 3 inch. That would be like drinking out of a 1 inch diameter straw. It would take alot of power to simply take a sip. But sure we could drink the whole thing very fast if we wanted. So the 3 inch pipe is a restriction too. Why dont we go to 4inch? Because the higher the rpms that you are at the more air flow you have and they dont want you going past a certain rpm. So it is determined how much air flow a particular motor has at around the maximum allowable rpm and this gives them the pipe diameter. So an exhaust system is engineered to run best at max rpm. But this is kinda silly because how often are you at maximum rpm? You would have to be running down the highway at 150 mph or whatever and passing cars on the shoulder with your foot smashed to the floor the while time. And in town you would have to be not stopping at lights or stop signs or yielding to traffic. Who does that? Almost nobody. This is the problem with horsepower chasers. They dont understand what they are building their car to do. However if we reduce the pipe size now our motor runs better at lower rpms. Let's say 4,000 or 5,000 is now the optimum rpm but even at 3,000 it will run better because the target air flow rate is closer. In a street hot rod car a smaller diameter pipe can be better because your average driving rpm for the day is closer to that of optimum air flow rate that your exhaust system is tuned to. And to show my point as to why smaller might be better think about trying to take a sip out of a 1 inch diameter straw? You could do it. But it would take more energy than necessary for the task at hand. But yeah if we absolutely had to drink a 1 gallon super size soda as fast as humanly possible, no compromises, than a 1 inch straw will not let you down. Most people yield to traffic, stop at stop signs, stop at red lights, and obey at least 90 percent of traffic laws. All this lowers your average rpm. Stock pipes are balls to wall, flat out, no stopping. This car could probably out perform a stock one driving through town if we said you cant go 20 over the speed limit and you have to okey all other traffic laws.
i legitly dont think ive heard a good sounding car come from this page. everything is just loud with using shitty ass cheap exhaust pipe that will rust out in 2 years. buy a corsa extreme catback with a catless mid and it will be just as loud while sounding good.
