He will most definitely be haunted. Wondering what if he had gotten there sooner, because if he even had to question whether to call police before opening because it "might be nothing" tells me there was not a smell yet. He was probably killed from neglect or abuse by his parents or caretakers and they hid his body in the woods to hide what they did so they wouldn't get in trouble. Obviously, since no one has reported him missing, the ones who were supposed to be caring for him had something to do with it.

For instance, the luggage he was found in is limited and in some states only sold in discount stores like Ross, Burkes and TJ Maxx. This is very heartbreaking. This is eerily similar to the kid that was found dead inside a box in the woods of Philadelphia back in the 1950s. A guy was out in the woods checking for his muskrat trap when he discovered the kid. No one ever reported a missing child or claimed him, so the kid never been identify since. I hope this doesn't be the same for this poor soul.
There also wasn't 23 and me back then. Once toxicology comes back, maybe they can start tracking through DNA. The fact no one has reported a child missing fitting that description, is hauntingly telling that it was probably his parents.

It was very likely his parents had him at home and never reported his birth to the state. They were also the ones who likely killed him or sold him to the person who did.

"That little feller." He has so much compassion as if it was his own grandson. He reminds me of my late grandpa whose greatest source of happiness were his 7 grandchildren. This man probably feels the same.
Oh bless this man's heart he is such a kind, compassionate, good-hearted soul. He's traumatized already and that is evident because he is already "avoiding" revisiting the site where he found the suitcase that contained the child's body. That is one of the first tell-tale signs of trauma (and not being able to unsee what he saw). I hope to goodness he doesn't develop secondary PTSD from this experience. His subconscious brain told him to call the cops, but his "conscious" brain told him it would be embarrassing if he called and it was nothing in the suitcase. The subconscious brain ALWAYS knows when something is "off"...but sometimes our conscious brain tells it that it knows better. I hope they can find out to whom this little one belongs. One has to wonder if his own parents did this to him, or a family friend or relative. Did anyone even report him as missing? Sending Mr. Meredith gratitude and compassion. You can see he is shaken, heartbroken, and grieving for this young child he never knew. "Help me!" is what he "felt" from this little one. Sends chills up your body.
There is new treatment for PTSD that can help. Also, EMDR can be used if you can find a therapist who is trained. I agree. His man has developed PTSD and should get treatment asap. I feel for him and I pray that the child is identified and justice is served.

It'll begin to fade with time. I speak from experience. One day even random triggers will cease to bring this babies face up in his mind. Hell never forget but he will eventually have days where he doesn't see it at all. Just takes time and therapy. Loads of therapy.

Sometimes, I see stories like this and I get suspicious of the person who found the body. Not this man. You can tell how sincere he is, how horrified he is by this. Someone will recognize that suitcase. It’s way too distinctive.
That suitcase screams "I want to be found out". Whoever put that wild colored suitcase in the woods was not hiding it; that person is showing off his kill. A killer wanting to hide a body would try to have it blend in with the surroundings. A brightly colored suitcase does not blend in with the woods, it stands out.

As a father I'm broken from hearing this and makes me want to hold kids more than ever. Knowing there are kids out there right now who are suffering and being abused as we live and breathe and go about our lives.
You can do something about it, by adopting an unwanted child. Particularly an older one. Unfortunately, the teens have a very low adoption rate, and usually just become statistics, when they age out of the system at 18.
You can’t watch this without being deeply moved and saddened. That poor man having to live with this for the rest of this life. You can see and hear how upset he is about this. Having found my brother in law passed away in not a good way and the emotional turmoil it has caused me I cant even begin to imagine how absolutely hollow and sad this man must feel finding a child. Investigators know the child was five years old, Black, thin, around 4 feet tall, with a short haircut, but nothing about who he is or where he came from.

Over 3,000 children in USA go missing every year and are never found and neither are the people who stole them away abused them and murdered them

This is very heartbreaking. This is eerily similar to the kid that was found dead inside a box in the woods of Philadelphia back in the 1950s. A guy was out in the woods checking for his muskrat trap when he discovered the kid. No one ever reported a missing child or claimed him, so the kid never been identify since. I hope this doesn't be the same for this poor soul.
There also wasn't 23 and me back then. Once toxicology comes back, maybe they can start tracking through DNA. The fact no one has reported a child missing fitting that description, is hauntingly telling that it was probably his parents.

It was very likely his parents had him at home and never reported his birth to the state. They were also the ones who likely killed him or sold him to the person who did.

Oh bless this man's heart he is such a kind, compassionate, good-hearted soul. He's traumatized already and that is evident because he is already "avoiding" revisiting the site where he found the suitcase that contained the child's body. That is one of the first tell-tale signs of trauma (and not being able to unsee what he saw). I hope to goodness he doesn't develop secondary PTSD from this experience. His subconscious brain told him to call the cops, but his "conscious" brain told him it would be embarrassing if he called and it was nothing in the suitcase. The subconscious brain ALWAYS knows when something is "off"...but sometimes our conscious brain tells it that it knows better.
I hope they can find out to whom this little one belongs. One has to wonder if his own parents did this to him, or a family friend or relative. Did anyone even report him as missing?
Sending Mr. Meredith gratitude and compassion. You can see he is shaken, heartbroken, and grieving for this young child he never knew. "Help me!" is what he "felt" from this little one. Sends chills up your body.
There is new treatment for PTSD that can help. Also, EMDR can be used if you can find a therapist who is trained. I agree. His man has developed PTSD and should get treatment asap. I feel for him and I pray that the child is identified and justice is served.

It'll begin to fade with time. I speak from experience. One day even random triggers will cease to bring this babies face up in his mind. Hell never forget but he will eventually have days where he doesn't see it at all. Just takes time and therapy. Loads of therapy.

Sometimes, I see stories like this and I get suspicious of the person who found the body. Not this man. You can tell how sincere he is, how horrified he is by this. Someone will recognize that suitcase. It’s way too distinctive.
That suitcase screams "I want to be found out". Whoever put that wild colored suitcase in the woods was not hiding it; that person is showing off his kill. A killer wanting to hide a body would try to have it blend in with the surroundings. A brightly colored suitcase does not blend in with the woods, it stands out.

Having found my brother in law passed away in not a good way and the emotional turmoil it has caused me I cant even begin to imagine how absolutely hollow and sad this man must feel finding a child. My brother in law was in his 50s and we almost expected it. I knew what I was probably walking into I cant imagine seeing a child in such in unexpected situation like this.
