Toyota doesn't give a flying duck about Glanza when it comes to showroom and service experience. Pretty sure it will have the same fate as the Urban Cruiser (Toyota's Vitara Brezza!)
@@motorinc I remember going on a car test drive spree with a neighbour who wanted to purchase a mid sized SUV. I, being an automobile lover, trust Toyota for its "QDR" and believe Hyryder also carries the Toyota legacy. Going there, we were told that Hyryder has a 20 month waiting. For this neighbour, Maruti is a big No. So I suggested him to check out Glanza once instead of following the unnecessary rat race of having a SUV. Suddenly, the sales team got disappointed in us. 3 Toyota showrooms later it was confirmed that people seeking Glanza are not considered as Toyota's core customer persona. But this neighbour insisted on getting the Glanza, I managed to talk to a Glanza owner (arbitrarily found roadside). He shared a similar cold sales experience for the Glanza combined with very cold service. Similarly, one more Glanza owner in my society confirmed that Toyota service tends to prioritise Fortuner and Innova service first. All this was finally confirmed by a Toyota service guy (unofficially, ofcourse!) that somehow Toyota sales and service believes Glanza to be burden on them. Now either it is a coincidence or the 4 Glanza owners I have talked to till date have the exact same frustration.
Sun roof, wireless charger, Digital instrument cluster and TPMS all are unwanted accessories according to me. I have still not been able to understand the rationale behind this rebadging exercise, whether its Baleno to Glanza or Hycross to Invicto. (Invicto sounds like a Mahindra Car to be honest 😀)
@@motorinc The market seems to be thinking otherwise. For every 20 Balenos, I hardly see 1 Glanza. And this is when Toyata is offering a much better warranty on the same product. My guess is this trend will reverse with the Invicto. For every 20 Hycrosses , we'll see 1 Invicto. Safe to assume, people like to purchase the product from the original manufacturer.
Go for it, if you are not really pulled towards the glanza grill design / interior colors.. (these are the stand out features between the two) then go for baleno

Why doesn't the Glanza have a CVT ? That's such a miss in my opinion. The CVT is very nice to drive for relaxed drivers. The option to have one would have been nice. I wish the manufacturers would at least offer the option for buyers.
Thank you. Last time I talked to Toyota Sales executive of another dealership and told him about my purchase, he said that they would have offered me around 40k-50k discount. Perhaps they ll give even more if you can bargain!
The only thing which bothers is Toyota is known for safe cars and maruti as we all know is poor in safety...this keeps lots of buyer away from Toyota as well...
Hey Abhijit! We understand your concerns - but keep in mind the platform has been upgraded now and packs more safety features too. Also, not all Marutis are poor. For instance the Brezza. Also, the new Alto’s 2 star rating is a solid result; it used to be zero stars. And the current test is a lot more stringent too.
Here is my feedback after 3K Kms and 6months - Other than all the features and pros you mentioned, the car feels less powerful on the steep mountains, and the ground clearance could've been better.
Hey Vikram, super to hear about your experience. It would be great for the MotorInc family to know where you are based - as in how steep are those mountains? Thanks in advance. Also do you have manual or amt?
Certainly, I'm originally from the NCR (National Capital Region) and have been traveling by motorbike and car for the past 12 years. In November, I purchased a manual Glanza, and since then, I've been thoroughly enjoying riding it. However, when I traveled to Pathankot in March, I encountered some issues with ground clearance and power. Over the past 11 years, I've gained driving experience and currently also own a Hyundai Santro, having driven numerous other cars as well. From Pathankot, we proceeded to Dalhousie and Khajjiar, where the mountainous terrain and roads are exceptionally steep. Despite the pleasant weather and not using the air conditioning, I couldn't help but notice the car's lack of power and poor ground clearance. Even with only three average-sized individuals in the car, it seemed to struggle.
Why should we buy it over more safer altroz ? Just for more features it offer? Not to demean toyota or Maruthi, but i just hope they make atleast 3 star rated cars.
Hey VR8264! There are reasons - refinement, performance and reliability. The beauty is we all have different needs and there are options to suit our needs - so Tata suits your mindset - and that’s amazing! We do hop the Glanza/Baleno get tested by GNCAP soon. Ideally we want the best of all worlds. Tata + Maruti + Hyundai in one package. 😄
Hello! For majority highway use - we could recommend Glanza/Baleno - the peppier engine, better suspension will be a big advantage. I20 Sportz CVT would be a convenient pick for city use in that price range.
In my opinion, ditching the CVT for an AMT is a big miss and so is not offering a BoosterJet variant. I mean, Suzuki brought back the BoosterJet in the, weirdly named, *Fronx*, which is based on the same platform as the Baleno/Glanza. All in all, it’s still a car that’s built to appease the “kitna deti hai” crowd, which is fair but not something that I vibe with.
Great content sir with to the point briefing…in process of buying 1st car, but confused btw Honda amaze vx cvt and glanza v amt. have taken test drive of both, amaze felt really smooth, I was happy with glanza also. Please suggest which u go for.
Hey Dilip! Thank you so much! That is a great question! The Amaze has the smoother automatic and the better driving experience because of it. It’s much larger boot will also be a big help for long trips. Aside from that - the Baleno would be a better pick for- the engine (performance and fuel efficiency), the comfort (suspension) and it’s feature list. We do not think the AMT is a deal breaker. Also, the advantage of service and resale. So, what are your needs? Would be happy to answer anything else.
I too had a similar question. The sales of the Balenos have come down post launch of Fronx. I went to look out for the Fronx but the sales team of Nexa were pressurized to push the sales of stagnant Balenos to the customers by offering around 40 to 45k discount on the Balenos. On road price of Baleno Zeta model was 1030000 ₹ and they were offering me to take it on 990000 ₹. Is this a good deal? Considering the resale value of Baleno with 6 airbags alloy wheels I am thinking to go with the Baleno rather going for the compact sedan amaze. Please advise if this is a 2ise decision.
@@Maddyzrhythm I bought Glanza V Amt and really happy with it. Many say G variant is value for money but since being a newbie felt 360 cam would be helpful and it is. which is missing in G variant. You can go for it. A no nonsense car.

Why do I feel like u r obsessed with Automatics? I see in every video, u r pressing more on automatic. What has manual done to ignore it? Isn’t it driving manual gives u the real feel for driving? I personally don’t feel the “need” for automatic. A good manual with light clutch makes the day. Why do I feel that media hyping so much about the automatics, there might come a generations in future where people don’t know how to drive a manual. Just like an average American 🤔
I am also confused between Automatic and Manual. I like Manual except for those time when Indian City Traffic makes me wait and hold in the signal.
Hola HMB! Quite the opposite actually! We’d love to see more people learn and live with automatics. And super glad to hear you are on the same page!
Hey MB8828! We’d put it like this - roughly - if you travel more than 30-40kms or spend over 2 hours in traffic - only then is auto a must. What do you think?
Bought this as my first Car!!!
Congratulations!!
How’s the service costs..?
Please let us know the mileage
I have a question here...Underneath is the same baleno. Except for the cosmetics, where does the Glanza differ from Baleno?
Hi! Mechanically they are the same! The differences - cosmetics and value are it.
@@motorinc
which one has more value..? What you think..?
So plastic and panels are not thin and cheap as Suzuki??
Baleno has better front profile
♥️
the production of the video so well done
At base level Glanza is 70K more expensive than Baleno.. Plus if you think about its re sale value after 5 years, Baleno is a clear winner.. I booked Baleno over Glanza...

Should i buy Glanza safely ?
I was aligned towards tata initially, but due to after sales and reliability issues i m more interested in glanza.

Just go for it, I've owned for a year now and nothing feels like this car.
Is sunroof really needed here in India bro???... This sheep mentality of getting things and showing off is very silly especially when u don't know the use of what feature u r buying and why... Atleast u don't promote the totally SHIT & USELESS sunroofs.🙏🏻
Great video as always guys! Just wanted to ask, do you have any upcoming videos covering sedans? The virtus/slavia/city against the new verna? Would love to hear kartikeya speak about sedans!
Hey Sankalp! Thanks for the suggestion! Is there a question you have in mind? Would love to answer it for you.
Thats 100% true and well said !!! Superior service thats 1000% true
❤️❤️❤️
its the same car with a different body kit and no isn't a Toyota and yes suzukis are reliable too as they are Japanese too so don't worry too much
Not arguing with that!
Buy a baleno and change the logo.. now u have glanza less than 20-30k... 😁
🤣
Only amt? 😢 That is sad.
Agreed!
Instead of this I'll buy kiger turbo for same money or safer altroz diesel
♥️
Is there any change in performance with the RDE compliant engine
Is it safer than Baleno? If yes, how safe? Or same? Have seen some baleno pictures crashed at mild speed, looks pretty bad! Really bad!!
It's basically the same car with the same chassis, both are equally unsafe
@@biraj8018 hmm, its a no for me then. Dont care about mileage or gizmos. IMO, govt should charge higher tax to the companies/car models selling unsafe cars for the same price where other companies sell safer cars. If it is dirt cheap, then its better than a two wheeler anyways. So no extra tax. But only that, it must be cheap AF.
Same car with different logo design.😂
Hey Raj! It will be the same. But keep in mind this is the new gen that hasn’t been crash tested. The previous gen missed out on ESP, ISOFIX as standard which also affected safety ratings. These are standard now. Also the platform has been upgraded. Let’s see when GNCAP tests one of these.
@@Cla55icG00se You can't decide on the safety yet brother. The new Baleno is yet to be tested. According to suzuki's claims the new Baleno is safer than the old one. Idk how much we can trust suzuki on this though.
There's a 50K price gap between the Top models ... the real question is , is it worth it ?
I heard that baleno's service cost and service time is higher than glanzas despite both being the same vehicles
Will buy Baleno
Glanza is a costly Baleno.Toyota dealer Harsha mKe it more costly.better go Baleno
Toyota doesn't give a flying duck about Glanza when it comes to showroom and service experience. Pretty sure it will have the same fate as the Urban Cruiser (Toyota's Vitara Brezza!)
Hey Vardhan! Was this your experience? Would be glad to hear more.
Wow! That's very sad. Thanks for sharing with us. Let's see how we can help change this
Sun roof, wireless charger, Digital instrument cluster and TPMS all are unwanted accessories according to me. They do not cause any wow factor but prove to be a fly in the ointment at some point of time. Smoothness of engine and transmission systems and improved mileage are the factors which would really wow you in the course of time.
With recent price cuts in Ignis and now that Maruti has added a few safety features as standard does it makes sense to buy the Ignis Sigma variant? Pls do let me know your thoughts asking for a dear friend who is planning to book one tomorrow
We think the Ignis is a great pick - very practical! But for Rs 50k more the Delta is a much better option than the Sigma. All the best! Do let us know how it goes.
@@motorinc Maruti guys called him earlier this morning they are giving it for 6.2L on road that's a big savings.he has booked the vehicle
Ignis is selling for 6 lakhs. Such inflation
@@scienceByV it is but cars will only get expensive if you look at Macro trends and with the current situation of the US economy banks will keep increasing rates the only way US can control it's debt is my reducing consumption and for the next few years expect cars to slowly and steadily climb price, the future is not EV the future is public transport and 2 wheelers if things keep going at this rate.
Update: that friend of mine ended up buying the Ignis. 4cyl global product spacious easy to maintain it is a good car driven at 70kmph max I still don't trust Maruti
Is toyota making the same engine ? Or they just buying from Suzuki?
What's the expected NCAP rating for this?
Amazing content, voice, videos, transitions! Loving your stuff motorinc. Will you guys be reviewing fronx soon? ✌️

In my point sun roof is no use in any car , because you can't drive in mid summer opening sun roof and rainy season apart from this even I safety aspect also sun roof is negative thing
Toyota now rebadging Maruti cars, yep staying away from it.
Sub compact SUVs are more practical now a days, baleno and glanza doesnt make much sense considering prices..
I am waiting for Toyota to rebadge the Alto :-).
@motorinc please make a video on altroz
Can do!
I have still not been able to understand the rationale behind this rebadging exercise, whether its Baleno to Glanza or Hycross to Invicto. (Invicto sounds like a Mahindra Car to be honest 😀)
At the very basic level, if it's on sale in two places, then maybe we'll sell 1.5 times the numbers? 🤣
We didn't say the rationale works!
@@motorinc Yes ofcourse... Got it. 👍🏼
🙂🙂
My second comment perhaps did not come out as I had intended. Opps... 😀
Amt? In this day and age come on Toyota 😂atleast a CVT like the Baleno
Can any user give recent feedback for Glanza? Was planning to buy Baleno. Just r ad this review. Confusion!
Go for it, if you are not really pulled towards the glanza grill design / interior colors.. (these are the stand out features between the two) then go for baleno
4:52 Wow! The presenter nailed how to do a great presentation :)
Thank you so much Ansel!
He surpassed a best auto sales person, hats off bro🤘
U wouldve just kept a Baleno by it's side ...while saying the same things .
U know ...just time saving ...and cost cutting (in video making) .
ओरु पत्थर पर दो आम😂😂😂
Baleno.. Glanza.. Baleno.. Glanza.. Balenza!
why does he sound like a bond villain lol..
Why doesn't the Glanza have a CVT ? That's such a miss in my opinion. The CVT is very nice to drive for relaxed drivers.
The option to have one would have been nice. I wish the manufacturers would at least offer the option for buyers.
Just pay extra money for color wow factor is over the roof🤦
Always saw Baleno in rash driving and accident cases never saw Glanza is the build quality same or different?
Toyota glanza looks like suzuki baleno cars are in my mind forever
Bro, I would love to buy glanza..But what if the glanza gets discontinued in future?.. what if the collaberation of maruti& toyota gets collapsed?
Going for Glanza over Baleno FYI Toyota is also offering ₹25k discount
Congratulations! We are also planning for the same if i get decent discount we will choose glanza else baleno
Thank you. Last time I talked to Toyota Sales executive of another dealership and told him about my purchase, he said that they would have offered me around 40k-50k discount. Perhaps they ll give even more if you can bargain!

Heya! Kartikeya has been with MotorInc now since last November! Glad to have you join us here!
Isnt this the exact same car as the Baleno? Same engine and body ? And no CVT to boot.
Why bother considering this ?
Different style, different interior colours and the Toyota service experience.
nice hair
😄
Glanza should launch ctv
Okay! Thanks for letting us know Vikram! Much appreciated!
@@vikramnegi9421how’s the service costs…?

Why should we buy it over more safer altroz ? Just for more features it offer? Not to demean toyota or Maruthi, but i just hope they make atleast 3 star rated cars.
Hey VR8264! There are reasons - refinement, performance and reliability. The beauty is we all have different needs and there are options to suit our needs - so Tata suits your mindset - and that’s amazing! We do hop the Glanza/Baleno get tested by GNCAP soon. Ideally we want the best of all worlds. Tata + Maruti + Hyundai in one package. 😄
Glanza is beautiful
sir pls do a review of the hyryder mild hybrid variant! Please?
Presentation is dope❤️

At least im expecting Toyota engine reliability...
💯
Where does i20 stand in this comparison? For 12 lakhs budget, 70% highway travel, reliability & after sales service. Thanks.
Hello! For majority highway use - we could recommend Glanza/Baleno - the peppier engine, better suspension will be a big advantage. I20 Sportz CVT would be a convenient pick for city use in that price range.
@motorinc Thanks for the suggestion & one more Q. ...do you recommend CNG...if Yes...how much running shud be threshold?? Thanks.
Man! Loved the way you did this video. Cheers!
Thanks Bhargav!
Glanza & Baleno is like Vivo & One plus 😂
😂
Balemo Delta or Glanza s better option?
You guys have left powerdrift
Kartikeya and Shumi have been with us MotorInc since August 2022!
I really wish Toyota brings the corolla hatchback to India. Hell, something which they can vouch for that’s made by
… made by them?
Great content sir with to the point briefing…in process of buying 1st car, but confused btw Honda amaze vx cvt and glanza v amt. have taken test drive of both, amaze felt really smooth, I was happy with glanza also. Please suggest which u go for.
Additionally Honda amaze has many missing features which are available in glanza, like 360 cam, heads up display, idle start stop etc.

Hey RS7!! 😃A DCT isn’t A must but a more sophisticated transmission, surely is. Yep easy swap!
That two punch was personal.
Is it sharing the suzuki's engine or toyota is using its own engine? For this and hyrider?
It’s the same engine as the Baleno. On the Hyryder - the 1.5L mild hybrid engine is from Maruti. The 1.5L strong hybrid engine is from Toyota. So, both companies have looked their resources together.
