We neglected to mention in the video that the Sigs have the BDX ballistics built in. We don’t love working with that system so it isn’t much good to us, but we should have mentioned it because some people love it.
@@chuckkuang91 that all you got man? "booooooooo"? I wouldn't talk... Your name sounds like your brilliant parents named you by throwing pots down a stairwell... Bet you got made fun of in school a LOT eh?
The Leupold 2800 is what I picked. It has to be hazy to not range out to a mile, and I've ranged barns at 3600 yards. It was around $500 and it's so clear it easily doubles as a replacement for a dedicated monocular. The biggest selling point for me between some of the others was the CR123 battery. I have nothing else that uses a CR2, but I always have CR123s for flashlights, weapons lights, etc.
I meant to say thank you for your time and expense. the head-to-head comparisons are very useful and your evaluations were well done and consistent with my experience.
I purchased a Leupold RX-1400i TBR/W for $200 (November 2021). My owners manual says its waterproof and claims the typical maximum range is 1,400 yds (reflective target), 1200 yds (trees), or 950 (deer sized animals). It ranges instantly.
@@StevenRAssmann-tb7tydid you end up purchasing one? If so which one and how do you like it? Im looking to buy one for my fiancé and am not sure which one to get
I just wanted to thank you guys. After long deliberation mostly with info from your videos and my own research I also choose the Leupold 1600i. I went back and forth with the Ranger mostly because of the warranty. But ultimately better performance won. Thank you
I am watching this video 3 years later, so I realize that new models with more features have come out since that time, but this was a very well done video that serves as a GREAT guide for the average and above average hunting in the field.
I like the Leica as it has the best optics. The Sig 2400BDX has many extra features--it will communicate directly with the BDX scope. it does have applied ballistics.
I splurged a couple years back and got a Nikon Monarch 3000 stabilized rangefinder and it's incredible. The stabilization makes it easy to range one-handed and it ranges as good as any I've tried.
I think you made a good choice. I bet yours did better than this test didn’t it? If it was performing like that you would just have to send it back and they would send a working one.
I got a 1100yd read on a non reflective, but have only had it out once and didn’t really try to get past 1000 shooting that day. Plus the waterproof and warranty. Kind of wish I would have bit the bullet and paid for the razor 4000 though.
Juan Diego Serna Been using mine too. It’s so awesome. Works great. I got it out to 1200+ today on non reflective. White rock actually so not sure if that counts. Sucks paying the bill for it, but when you get it out there you realize how valuable it actually is. Cheers man
The one I didn't see you test was the Hawke brand. I was introduced to them through my little town Sports Shop. I have all Hawke scopes, binoculars and now a range finder. They have three lines mine is the newest it's the Endurance, they have a hunter series and one other. They have great prices and warranties. They are rain, fog and shock proof. I have been using their scopes and binoculars for 3 years now and I have no negative things to say on them, they have preformed great under hot, cold, rain and snow. This will be my first year with the range finder but to this point my testing shows it will be as reliable as the scopes and binoculars. Just thought I would throw it out there as another option for people.
You guys should have mentioned what the Sig Sauer can do paired with the Sierra 3 BDX scope. You guys didn't do the Sig justice. I have a friend and his wife and their sons that have taken more big game than most people dream about and they all use Sig combos. I have the Simmons, Bushnel, Lieca range finders and now I have the Sig Sauer combo coming in. I purchased the SigSauer Sierra 3 with the 2200 BDX LRH. It shipped yesterday, I can hardly wait to program all of my different rifle profiles in the range finder. You can put in 25 different rifle profiles. It is going to be fun.
Just picked up the Nikon Prostaff 1000i Lazer Rangefinder. $196.15 out the door from Sportsman's Warehouse. I needed something waterproof and fogproof with ange compensation that was capable of ranging to 700 yards. About to stretch the legs on my Browning X-Bolt this season, LETS GO!
The Bushnell was so off because it gives you angle range compensation, not line of sight distance. Update: I tested this in the store yesterday at a wide range of distances from 7-100 yards and compared it with the Leupold and Vortex in your video. They all gave the same exact distances +/- 0.2 yards.
Something you failed to mention about the Sig BDX range finders is that you can bond them to the Sig scope. This way when you range a target the dot in the scope moves. This makes it very beneficial for when you are hunting.
My issue with the leupold is the warranty. I had a leupold rx1000 which stopped working at 2.5 years and they wouldn't warranty it. They offered me 30% discount on a new one. That is the only reason I went with the vortex for my recent one.
I have a Leupold RX-1000i TBR. Worked for a couple years, then the display stopped lighting up. Warranty is only 2 years. They won’t repair them, either. If you’re okay buying a new rangefinder every couple of years, then go for it. It’s a nice rangefinder. Just a bit expensive to be completely consumable every 2 years. I’d be interested to see a long-term test on all these rangefinders after 1 year and after 2 years.
I just picked up the RX-1600i on black friday at Cabelas, they had them for $250. I haven't really gotten a chance to try it in the field yet, but just screwing with it at home it's awesome so far. I've been able to get returns without a reflective surface at over 1200 yards.
I purchased my Vortex Ranger 1800 refurbished from A&A Optics for about $200. Still carries the lifetime warranty, was brand new in the box. If memory serves me correctly I ranged green trees on a hot, hazy ,humid south Florida day at over 1,700 yards. Love it and wouldn't buy anything else.
Right into my Leupold rx650 a few years old now its been awesome form me just stepping to further distances now more for setting up targets, just received new rx1400i today stoked as with it, these two should last me til the end.
Have the Sig Kilo 850 and it is fine for me. Got it cheap at Fin Feather and Fur for like $125 on sale. I always treat my glass like fine crystal, protect and keep from abuse. I may not own a Weatherby, but I treat all of my weapons and accoutrements as if they are irreplaceable or made by Weatherby. I still own a Remington 1100 from 1972 that has no cosmetic scratches or rust and has been on numerous hunts through the thickets of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Or my M77 Mark 1 in 30-06 which I used throughout the high desert and mountains of Idaho for Mule Deer. I also hunt slowly and methodically. I do not rush. I'm 62, and I have learned patience. Because of my age, and some questionable shots at Prairie Dogs and Groundhogs, I finally bought the Sig. My average went up by 25% after the purchase. Use all of the tools at your disposal for having a good and successful hunt. Buy the best that you can afford. I always buy new optics. I may buy used weapons. But I buy ONLY well-proven and used equipment by others and their ratings of said equipment. The only purchase I made recently on a whim was a 16 Ga. SXS from Serbia. Zavasta M70, and she is sweet. I'm still learning to shoot a SXS shotgun.
I have the Vortex Ranger 1300 and I ranged a big tree in a field where I hunt at 1276 yards the other day. Checked it with GPS and it was actually 1275 yards. Pretty impressed with it
The sig kilo 2400 BDX also pairs via Bluetooth to a kestrel to read ballistic data with right now weather station data (barometer, altimeter, temp, and applied ballistics calculator with the correct model) major Step over the rest for a long range marksman. Crazy what technology has done over the past 5 years. Sig kilo 2400 ABS is Also another high end product they offer but it’s upward of 1,000$
i am also curious. The night i brought home my Vortex 1800, i was on the front porch and ranged out in the neighbors field on the next ridge and got a reading of 1298 yards within about 8 seconds. Not much for moonlight that night either.
Gentlemen, thank you so much. I’m newer to long range shooting and hunting and I don’t like wasting money on worthless gear. I truly appreciate what you do. I make sure to hit all of your links, least I can do.
Leupold gets my vote have the 1400 it ranges passed a 1000m all day its great for price quality and accuracy i use for hunting and targets increasingly at longer ranges. Love vortex scopes and brand. But the leupold just has never let me down ranging or bird watching its just a great product. Like vortex scopes particularly their tactical line up definitely gonna save for a strike eagle or razor for long range currently just running the diamondback tacticle 4-12x40 and 6-24x50 as budget friendly options. Have two crossfire ii reddots on each of my shot guns. They have been sturdy and reliable optics such that im gonna up grade to their more premium scopes when i have the funds.
I had a leupold and loved it, it was loving taken care and had low hour use,but it just didn't last. The led screen went out and was useless.I sent it back to Leupold barely out of the 2 yr. warranty and they said it couldn't be repaired. So the warranty does make a difference.
Same here. My RX1000TBR was great for about 5 years. Then over the next 2 years, the display started to lose portions of the digital read out. Then the display just started to fade away into oblivion. Granted I did use it over a period of 7 years, but I paid almost $500 for it. And now that I have had problems with it, Leupold informs me they can't fix it & they only provide a 2 year warranty on all their electronics. (But we will gladly sell you another) So now if I spend some more hard earned cash with them, I will have another awesome rangefinder for maybe 5 more years and I get to repeat the process. I know hunting gear has a lifespan, but for what Leupold charges for their stuff (name) a 2 year warranty is garbage. Especially on a rangefinder. The average hunter probably puts in less than an hour of actual hands on use with their rangefinder annually. Sorry Leupold, but I think you just helped Vortex earn my dollars.
@@speedfingers1234 dang I ended up with the vortex for 299 at academy haha. I went to the leupold website and it had terrible reviews saying the numbers were fading. I guess everyone can make a few lemons though. I'm sure leupold would make it right
I mainly use the Leupold 1600. I shoot in meters and I got a reading out to 1680 meters (1837 yards) on IPSC targets. I was running my Hunter Training Course in New Mexico and a couple of my students wanted to test out their 6 mm CM. We hit the targets by the way after chasing the wind.
Nice info, I purchased a Leupold RX-IV many years ago cost me around AUS$500. Took it out once, sat at my stand and started playing with my new toy. The box said maximum range 1500m. The furthest object it would range was a hay shed and 583m. Trees, max range I got was 220 meters with most ranging at sub-200meters. Not worth packing, used once. Buyers beware!
Bdx will bond to your scope or app. And app is where you can input your bullistics . It literally tells you yours moa and holdover based on your weather. It is amazing.
Ive actually owned the previous version of that pursuitnfor about 4 years now and love the simplicity of it. Its never failed me, doesnt give bad readings and isnt too "pokey" as yall put it. For the stupid cheap price its well worth it. No the glass isnt GREAT, no its not the fastest, no its not waterproof but it works and ive only needed a battery replacement once
Whaaaaat ???!!! I had a hunt last week with my vortex ranger, off a rock shooting at tree tops I would regularly get over 1350! I couldn’t get 1400 but got 1390’s a few time. 600’s easy in shade and low light. Also built in drop calculator in it as well as inclinometer on the line of sight function, if your a whiz wheel guy or Pythagoras. Maximum range was over 1700 on a street sign and a rock solid rest.
Here's my first ever use of my Vortex Razor HD4000. Result: white building at 4222 yards. it was also the first time I used a phone to shoot though optics. @ I find that this distance measuring capability is good to evaluate distances to travel while out in the field.
Thank you guys so much! Rangefinders are something you can't really get an idea of before you buy. Same thing as scopes. Don't know what you have until you have it. Thank you again
Would pick the vortex ranger for hunting, here in Manitoba Canada hunting season is late in the year and it is dark at 5. And is snowy and cold abs the water proof would be needed
I don't use range finders, but the cheapest level pick was no surprise. I have various Nikon scopes (and a binoc) on rifles and crossbows, and very pleased with their performance and durability.
Wow guys there are so many errors in this video that it’s disturbing. The sig 2400 bdx has a “magnesium case” NOT plastic . “-Compact, lightweight magnesium housing with binocular style eyecup and diopter adjustment “ It it also Ipx4 rated: “Water splashing against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect, utilizing either: a) an oscillating fixture, or b) A spray nozzle with no shield. Test a) is conducted for 10 minutes. Test b) is conducted (without shield) for 5 minutes minimum.” PLENTY for hunting. I rinse mud and dirt off my 2200 after many hunts. Gotta agree with MaxairEngineering. I have the Sig Kilo, tried 10-15 different units from Academy, Basspro, Cabelas, etc.. came back to the Kilo. Adjustable red reticle, super clear optics, angle and true LoS distance capability. Love it. It will be my rangefinder for the last 20 years of my hunting and still get passed on to the nephews. And who doesn't research IPX ratings. ALL of the range finders they tested were waterproof essentially. The "plastic" on the Sig, is a soft rubber coating. It sticks in your hand super well, and the features list is huge. These guys are either biased or just plain Lazy.
For long range none of the other rangefinders even come close to what the sig kilo does for a long range dumb or a sig smart scope. Just because you don’t know how or like the system doesn’t mean it isn’t great for others. I have friends who took classes on long range shooting and this range finder is the heart of the class. External turrets and this range finder with the bdx makes it so simple anyone can shoot from 555 yards then switch their next shot to 897yrds in one push of a button and feel confident on hitting it. When programmed to your gun nothing else gives you more accurate info in the push of a button. The price is high but when the luepold 1600 came out years ago it was $1000. Its old tech now. I still like your review because it’s yours. Just know that your comparing mustangs, Camaros, corvettes, and challengers to a Bugatti.
I wasn't really sure I needed one or would justify it and I went with the Nikon Prostaff 1000i a few years ago. I hunt woodlots and 90% of the whitetail I have ever shot are under 75 yards. Like many things, now that I have it I am spoiled to liking it; paired with a CDS elevation turret it is just wicked simple and deadly. I have had GREAT luck with Nikon cameras, binoculars, spotting scopes and rifle scopes in the past (the red LED for the compass on my OceanPro binoculars failed and, on a 26 year old pair, Nikon sent a brand new pair rather than mess with the old one). The furthest I have ranged an animal is a 417 yard coyote. And I'm no better of a shot than that so it serves me well. Small and light so I do take it with me all the time in my blaze camo vest pocket.
5 years ago I bought off eBay a bushnell pro 1600. I knew very little about range finders. Well. Was I lucky, it’s good for well over 800 yards or metres is a slope edition which is bloody handy and has pinseeker technology. Paid about £ 60 for it. Keep looking at new ones but I’ll stick with the bushnell! 👍🏴🇬🇧
I have the 2800 Leopold its great. Would highly suggest then and the warranty is absolutely great and way easy to use. I only say that cause I bought a 650 years ago. It didn't range good at all they up graded cause they didn't have anything in the range.
I am into distance shooting, and as such have gone through a few rangefinders trying to find one to fit my needs. I ended up with a Sig kilo, and eventually want to get into the bdx with a paired scope. Not a hospital owner though🤣 so the price tag is a little tough for somebody that is just recreational shooting. I really enjoyed your video thanks so much for the great content fellas.
Boy are there other options !! Am after Warranty, Red readout (having to range and then look up at the sky to find the range does my nut in !), decent range (don't need huge distance, rarely have to know a distance beyond 300 ish), waterproof is very handy !
So I watch this video multiple times and still want with the Vortex. Two reason: 1) Lifetime Warranty 2) Military Pricing. I was able to take it to work (airport) and was able to range a building at 1397yds. Confirmed the distance with Google Earth.
Thanks for your Investments. Very useful. I'll go with the cheapo range finder for woodland hunting and take the Swarovski DS scope for mountain shooting, as that does everything 😀
One thing a bow hunter would want to know is how close these will range. I was a well-known box store and was not able to range stuffed animals with a vortex 1300. I'm beginning to think you need one for rifle hunting and one for bow hunting
I went with the sig kilo 3k, ranging binos. I don't know if they necessarily advertise that it's waterproof, but I dropped them off the hood of my truck, and they sat in rain, snow, and mud for about 6 weeks before I went back and found them, still under about 2ft of slush. Bonus is that it'll talk to my kestrel and give me wind and elevation while I'm ranging.
Always used the Leupold, watched your video for interest sake to see what's available in competition at the moment. Still happy with my decision haha. Really liked this video guys, upfront, straight up honest opinions!!!!
I have a Leopold 1000 go out on me completely with the LED’s. It started going out on me after about 1 a year. The good thing is they’ll fix it. It’s the same as the one that you all were showing except the range on it is 1000 yards.
Glad you got yours fixed, I sent my 1200 in and paid for shipping and they sent back the same unit with a new battery and told me I could buy another similar one at a discount. Why would I want to spend money on something that lasted one hunt. Crazy horrible customer service
Should've included the Leica Rangemater CRF line of rangefinders. Performance blows all of these out of the water. My 1600B ranges to 1948 yards consistently as verified by several extremely high end binocular rangefinders. The whole line is amazing.
Based off this video I ended up getting the Leupold RX-1400i. I could not see the lighted range numbers on a sunny day even after adjusting the Display to the highest power. Did you or anyone else find this issue when testing rangefinders?
Crazy how much range finder tech has improved in just the few years since this video. I bought the new vortex viper for 399 and it'll range out to 3800 yards consistently
I love my old Sig Kilo 2000. And several of my buddies bought the same unit after trying mine out. Its 7 years old now and the display worked great one week and the next could barely see anything. Tried a new battery even though the meter still said full. And in short it got worse and soon was total black. This was over $500 when I bought it. And the electronics warranty is 5 years. Will I replace it with another SIG probably not. I have a few Vortex Diamondback scopes and they are great the warranty is awesome no hassle. The only scope from them I didn’t like was a $150 Crossfire that was blurry the replacement was blurry. They upgraded me to a more expensive unit at no cost. You spend good money and you should be supported by the maker. If i had abused it I wouldn’t be some course. But its never even been dropped in the dirt.
Thanks for the video! I've never come across your channel before, but I have to give you a thumbs up just for putting that much budget into a comparison for us. Happy hunting!
Three months before this video, I got the Sig 2200BDX Kilo on sale at Cabelas for $349. I don't have the BDX scope but the ballistic app is nice and I have no regrets. The only downside is the ballistic app is limited to 800 yds.
Guys, Based on your review I was just getting ready to buy the Leupold 1600 on Black Friday Sale until I read the reviews on Cabela’s. 11 one star ratings that say they fail shortly after the 2 year warranty expires and Leupold only offers a discounted sales price on a replacement. I think I’m buying the Vortex 1800 instead, at least I know I’ll have a working unit for life.
Thanks for the video. It changed my mind from the Ranger to the RX1600 bc of it. I am sure the Ranger will hit 1000 in some terrain but I’ve been pleased with my RX600, so I guess I’ll stick with Leupold.
Jim, it might be time to do another rangefinder review, 4 years is a suitable time for a revisit. In the final review, share your selection for each of archery hunting, rifle hunting, and long-range shooting.
The bdx sigs will link up with the sig bdx scopes and put a dot where you need to aim. You guys did an ok job. You guys missed a lot of info on some of the rangefinders though.
A American Patriot more importantly, if you don’t have a scope that links with the range finder, it still links with your phone for ballistics calculations and displays required MOA or MRad for a long shot. No cheat sheet needed

@@lucasorr4038 That is the huge difference other than just being bigger... Wish they wouldve covered that more. just got my hands on kilo 3000 bdx and they are fantastic.
Great video, I just wonder how the Leica range master 2400-r (500.00-$600.00) would compare to the Sig. Sincere thank you for both the expense and your honest evaluation.
I want a Sig BDX range finder, Kestrel, and Sig BDX scope. Calculate distance, wind direction and speed, altitude, humidity, etc., and then the software automatically calculates your elevation and windage holdovers and sends the data to your scope, which gives you an illuminated dot to place on your target and all you have to do is pull the trigger.
I shoot a Known Yardage Class in the Archery Shooters Association and finding the perfect rangefinders is a must. Leopold don’t work in low light. Need to test all them on 3D Foam Animal Targets from 20-50 yards and give us a report. This would be a hit for not only 3D Archers, but Hunters since the 3D Foam Targets reflects the same as a Deer. Also on black Targets most will range a couple yards further then what they actually are.
I use bushnell golf rangefinders. The ones for golfing are made way more durable and weather resistant. Think about you will use a hunting/shooting range finder not that often but a golf one is used multiple times per hole. They have slope technology built in to help with elevation. All you need a yardage after all. Buy a Bushnell tour v5 or Pro XE. It will outperform all of these.
Thanks for thr video u just saved me alot of trouble on trying to find a good Rangefinder I truly appreciate it . So what that being said im going with the leupold
Elliott Mazur I have that same one, can’t range anything past 750. Have a line of sight concrete silo and a metal roof at 1500 yard and it wouldn’t read it. Went thru 4 of them from Sig and dumped it for a vortex hd
We neglected to mention in the video that the Sigs have the BDX ballistics built in. We don’t love working with that system so it isn’t much good to us, but we should have mentioned it because some people love it.
Backfire yes I was thinking about that. Because if you get the sig 2200 non bdx the price is way lower than that 800 900 dollar mark.

I’ve had 2 leupold products and disliked both so much I used them 1 time and got rid of them. The rings I didn’t even use, garbage
Smart to buy a non disposable throw away rangefinder with a real lifetime warranty even on their electronics.
Right into my Leupold rx650 a few years old now its been awesome form me just stepping to further distances now more for setting up targets, just received new rx1400i today stoked as with it, these two should last me til the end.
I think the tripod socket on the vortex is an awesome feature, I wish my Leupold had that
Lots of good quality range finders! I bought a Maven and a Leica 1600. Both give very close readings when I tested them against each other.
Pretty impressed with it
What you use to check with gps

The sig kilo 2400 BDX also pairs via Bluetooth to a kestrel to read ballistic data with right now weather station data (barometer, altimeter, temp, and applied ballistics calculator with the correct model) major Step over the rest for a long range marksman. Crazy what technology has done over the past 5 years. Sig kilo 2400 ABS is Also another high end product they offer but it’s upward of 1,000$
After watching this I bought the vortex ranger 1300 and diamondback hd 10x42 and I love them both thanks for the great content
At timestamp 11:39, was the max distance on the Leupold RX-1600i in low light really only 1 yard?
i am also curious. The night i brought home my Vortex 1800, i was on the front porch and ranged out in the neighbors field on the next ridge and got a reading of 1298 yards within about 8 seconds. Not much for moonlight that night either.
I figured that would be a big downfall that they would mention if it wasn’t a typo. Lol
Gentlemen, thank you so much. I’m newer to long range shooting and hunting and I don’t like wasting money on worthless gear. I truly appreciate what you do. I make sure to hit all of your links, least I can do.
I've had a Monarch 3000 Stabilized since 2018. It has never let me down.
I had same issue as you. They only offered me a discount on a new one. I'll probably switch to Vortex just for the warranty part.
Just an FYI Leupold RX-1600i TBR/W is completely waterproof as well!
Yes -- www.leupold.com/rangefinders/hunting-rangefinders/rx-1600i-tbr-w-with-dna-laser-rangefinder
Its also 450 on Amazon not 350
Yeah not sure how they missed that one hahaha
@@speedfingers1234 dang I ended up with the vortex for 299 at academy haha.
I went to the leupold website and it had terrible reviews saying the numbers were fading. I guess everyone can make a few lemons though. I'm sure leupold would make it right
@@RockinRack Nice bro!
Great as always you guys have definitely become one of my favorite channels 👍keep up great work
Just ordered the new Leupold RX 1400x TBR. Hope it performs like the 1600. Thanks for the review!
Here's my first ever use of my Vortex Razor HD4000. Result: white building at 4222 yards. it was also the first time I used a phone to shoot though optics.
@
I find that this distance measuring capability is good to evaluate distances to travel while out in the field.
My vortex ranges out farther than that. Also I love the track function for moving critters with the ranger.
I bought the 1600 leupold range finder and I love it
Thank you guys so much!
“-Compact, lightweight magnesium housing with binocular style eyecup and diopter adjustment “
It it also Ipx4 rated: “Water splashing against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect, utilizing either: a) an oscillating fixture, or b) A spray nozzle with no shield.
Test a) is conducted for 10 minutes. Test b) is conducted (without shield) for 5 minutes minimum.” PLENTY for hunting. I rinse mud and dirt off my 2200 after many hunts.

MaxairEngineering says the guy that works at sig...
Ian right facts
wisetow10 ha! Nice try.
I’m pretty happy with my Sig. 1200 and scopes. It will link to several scopes.
The feature I like on the Nikon Range Finders is Distant Target Priority. In the Woods, it's priceless!
I know Vortex is generally well regarded, but my Bushnell prime out performs my stepsons Vortex 850. Both were within $30 of each other.
I own the Leupold. Love it. And it is also waterproof.
Have a sign kilo 2000. Have ranged cliffs across a lake at 2860. Have ben very happy with it. Will do trees on most days at 1500
I like watching videos with the two of you. thanks for a great video.
What’s a good low budget rangefinder that can also mount on to a picatinny rail for rifles?
Should've included the Leica Rangemater CRF line of rangefinders. Performance blows all of these out of the water. My 1600B ranges to 1948 yards consistently as verified by several extremely high end binocular rangefinders. The whole line is amazing.
Based off this video I ended up getting the Leupold RX-1400i. I could not see the lighted range numbers on a sunny day even after adjusting the Display to the highest power. Did you or anyone else find this issue when testing rangefinders?
Would be awesome to get a updated range finder video!!!
Crazy how much range finder tech has improved in just the few years since this video. I bought the new vortex viper for 399 and it'll range out to 3800 yards consistently
This was so awesome. Very thorough. Thank you for taking the time to put this together
I haven't watched the video yet, but for your investment up front, you get my thumbs up! Now off to watch the gravy!
Thanks for the video! I've never come across your channel before, but I have to give you a thumbs up just for putting that much budget into a comparison for us. Happy hunting!
I have tested all of these and find that my Leica 3500 is by far the best blows the Leupold away especially glass quality.
No shit at $1000
@@michaelflowers5688 lol
no Lieca???
I like the 7x magnification and tiny box reticle on those Leicas. Don't like the price.
No lika, ah
Not a ton of retailers sold them until very recently and they generally arent in the budget of most people.
Another great review. Found your channel about 2 weeks ago and I'm glad I subscribed.
Sit 2400 is in a separate class. You need to compare that to the Leupold 2800 and the Nikon 4k, vortex ,4k and lieca... Others I can't name off hand
Thanks for the video. It changed my mind from the Ranger to the RX1600 bc of it. I am sure the Ranger will hit 1000 in some terrain but I’ve been pleased with my RX600, so I guess I’ll stick with Leupold.
Man the guy on the left reminds me of the son when he was two years old. They grow up so fast.
Jim, it might be time to do another rangefinder review, 4 years is a suitable time for a revisit.
In the final review, share your selection for each of archery hunting, rifle hunting, and long-range shooting.
Revic br4 is what I just ordered, upgrading from my Leica 2700-b.
Thank you gentleman, I appreciate all the money and time you put into this!
11:40 Leupold low light 1 yrd, but they didn't even mention it, a bit strange...
I think that may have been a typo. Maybe in low light max distance was 1000 yards. 🤷♂️
@@lucasorr4038 and it connects via bluetooth to a kestrel 5700 elite for full blown Applied Ballistics software drop and wind data, not to mention it has Applied Ballistics ultralight onboard. They definitely didn't do thier homework 🤣
Vortex 1800 rangefinder is my choice as a hunter.
My five year old Leupold RX-1200 outperforms it. Not a good choice compared to what's available.
Could you guys review the new leupold RX-1400i ??
Yeah when ur hunting it is useful to range terrain also... so long range capability is beneficial.
I've used my Kilo2200MR to ping road signs 4,000yds+ in the mountains east of Whitehall, MT, near Mulligan Canyon.
Elliott Mazur I have that same one, can’t range anything past 750. Have a line of sight concrete silo and a metal roof at 1500 yard and it wouldn’t read it. Went thru 4 of them from Sig and dumped it for a vortex hd
I just bought the sig, my 1st rangefinder and fit my budget and like the options. So far I love it.
