Sawtooth Mountains Widow Maker Pass

- The Sawtooth Mountain Widow Maker Pass trail is south of Casa Grande near Arizona City. This beautiful trail winds through the remote Sawtooth Mountain Range, part of the 129,000-acre Ironwood Forest National Monument established in 2000 by presidential proclamation.
The trail begins at the steel gate just past the intersection of West Harmon and South Lamb Roads. Shortly down the trail is a cattle gate. Please close it after passing at the request of the rancher. The trail crosses Greene Wash. Use caution after rain as this area floods and quickly turns to deep mud. You will also find one of the original 267 concrete Corona Satellite calibration markers just down the trail.
As you wind through the foothills and into the mountains, there are many opportunities to capture photos of the Sonoran Desert landscape. From the crest of Widow Maker Pass, there are great views of farm fields, Picacho Peak, the Santa Catalina Mountains, and Mount Lemon in the distance.
That's in my neck of the woods. I'm definitely going to save this video for when I get back into a rig. Thanks for another great piece!

Did this very route yesterday. It was awesome. Did you guys notice the memorial marker for "John W" at the saddle before the big drop coming out of the pass? We're trying to find the story behind it.
I don’t remember seeing that at the time. Be interesting to know what happened.
@@Trail89Adventures As you are about to make the last drop (27 degrees one) sitting atop the saddle, there is a "parking area" to the right and about 25-30 yards away is a cross that reads "John W." 2020.

Is this from last week Todd? or did you get it this muddy again? LOL.... also could you camp in this area? I dont know if I would want to do that rocky part. Im not a fan of hitting the side of my head on the driver side window! HAHA
Mike that was 2 weeks ago. I actually hate mud. It took forever to get all that off and from undercarriage.
There are a few good camping spots back there but not a ton of them.
