The fact they made Nadu "only trigger twice each turn"... But then they let each creature trigger twice each turn is ... Nuts. Nadu is nuts
Nadu gets more stupid every time you read it. It passes the vanilla test, has evasion, triggers more than once per turn, does so for every single creature you have, also triggers off abilities and not just spells, is not mythic rare, and has the lands enter the battlefield untapped (as shown at 28:14), not to mention it's in what seems to be exactly the right colours for this format. Getting two of them that late is crazy.
what is the lore-context for it's ability?
Did they only made it as some kind of gamey engine,
or was it inspired by some background lore?
That Nadu hit into forest for the +1 counter spell actually made me throw up

I mean, he literally mentions it as part of the card description. It's simply that he doesn't value it without getting value on the lower effects. It's a turn 7 draw 3 in his mind, and thats conditional. I am not saying I agree, mind you, but I follow the logic that there are games where it will do nothing and that will feel bad. 13:46
Don't forget Kozilek's Unsealing draws you three cards when you cast 7 drops.
Path is really good. Breaker in an Eldrazi deck is a bomb, especially with Echoes.
Careful about having 2 Echoes down with Mirror Box in play. Played a Forsaken Monument made a bunch of copies of it, tapped one colorless land and got a forced draw warning at the same time both our heads exploded

Hydroelectric Specimen is incredible in the right matchups, especially when you are playing the UG eldrazi deck, since it’s very hard to deal with the eldrazi for most decks they usually need to use single target removal and with the spawn it’s very easy to hold up as 1 island will do it, so the idea with that card is if you don’t need the land you just hold onto it and hold it up in case you need it. It obviously gets even better if you have Aether Spike or Unfathomable Truths. I used it to excellent effect in my first 7 win run. I highly recommend not underestimating it.
I was waiting for the close up after seeing Nadu at 4, and was not disappointed. The second one, wtf?
This draft pod was insane. All the lanes were open... I'd have ended up in an abzan counters deck in this seat, but many lanes and options.
Coram as well as a handful of the other cmdr cards have high synergy in limited and play very well.
I’ve now watched vids of MH3 limited, modern, and legacy where Nadu was the best card in the deck. It may be the next Hogaak. Card is grosssssss
Huger Tide rises worked well for me.
Cycled 7 cost eldrazi for stuff. Spank eldrazi spawns and the insects for a 5 or 7 cost card. Suprised some enemies.
I don't care pack 3 or not, ever person who passed the first Nadu kicked themselves when the 2nd came through.
... you would certainly have fetch lands in your pile that you could use to splash just for free.

Hunger tide rises is great with nesting ground. Just keep making chump blockers forever or bank em up for the big eldrazi. A little slow but still solid
How does umbra armor work against -x/-x or exile ? Never played with it before
Doesnt protect against those effects, only "destroy" effects

this looks like a set that my smooth brain would need to draft about 50 times to (kinda) figure out the format.

This format already feels stale with everyone playing/forcing blue green eldrazi...it's like head and shoulders better than every other archetype.
I don't know, energy has also been quite good from what I've seen so far.
Also, if you watched the gameplay, Kenji got absolutely ruined by a golgari adapt deck. So pretty much anything can be viable, but I do agree at least in the early going there seems to be a lot of people trying to force Eldrazi. But it's so fun to play, can you blame them? 😂
technically he got ruined by the shuffler giving him no lands,
and he had to play his only removal as a land
Blue green isn’t even the best eldrazi colors almost all the archetypes are good if open
