Speaking of QC issues. I own 4 GM knives. 3 made in Italy and my Nazca that's made by Bestech. I've had to send in 2 of the ones made in Italy for QC issues🤔
Chinese companies know they're under intense scrutiny for being 'China', unlike other companies that slap their country's flag on the blade and billboarding everywhere to let you know where it's made, so the average person can more readily excuse QC issues.
My CF S90v Bugout and mini Bugout have just a cartridge around the lock so I think they could have pulled it off without liners.
Prolly only giantmouse I would own after tribeca warranty issues I've had. Sent back 3 times for lock rock returns with lockrock lol I trust chinese oems more bestech and reate.
I definitely tend to gravitate towards reate oem’d knives over bestech. Just had great experiences with reate every time.
Giant Mouse must have some good knives. A lot of the custom makers i know carry GM.

GM is having a hard time selling the Nazca eh? lol Influencers to the rescue! Also, Lionsteel an Italian manufacturer heat treats Magnacut up to at least 63hrc and has been tested and proven. I’ve yet to see anyone test Bestech. And the Nazca is 62 as per GM website. Also, Reate any day every day over Bestech. And about their QC at least the Italians can sharpen a knife. I’ve had Bestech knives come to me dull af from the factory. You shouldn’t mislead people. You call it honesty I call you misinformed and misinforming people. Typical influencer……
I asked them about 5 times to check one out, they finally budged, so nah. No idea how its selling.
I only have one Italian knife and I like it a lot, an MKM Isanzo.
I purchased GM over $200 I bought into hype only find out made China 😮

Had one of these had it hole punched really liked it moved on from it sadly was too small for my hand kept cutting my palm great knife really nice green micarta

You can see on their website they list oems. Nazca, Riv framelock, sonona and v2, the little one.
We edge a little closer to a Divo crossbar lock.

I picked one of those up on Black Friday sale last year. I have numerous crossbar locks in my collection, and I gotta say the GM has the best action hands down

I've been trying to figure out how manufacturers produce "machine satin." Do you happen to know? Best answer I've gotten so far is that they're probably using Scotchbrite belts or the equivalent, as opposed to a 240 - 600 grit belt?
I don’t think they use a belt at all. I believe its done on cnc. Some oems call it CNC satin
@@LeftyEDC That's definitely true for some of them, but there's a difference when viewed under a (USB) microscope. The ones I'm sure are CNC, like Spyderco's, have perfectly even lines that run the length of the bevel. Others, like Civivi's, have shorter, more random lines, like some kind of abrasive was applied. But I suppose it could just be a different CNC process.
@@BladeLabMiamiyes not sure. Qsp calls it cnc satin. So does kubey. I think the point is, its not done by hand so no belt i assume. This is what makes it easier and much cheaper
