Soaking in a FREE hot spring + waterfalls (Fourmile Falls + Treasure Falls) in Pagosa Springs, CO
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 чер 2024
- We headed 60 miles east of Durango for a day trip to the beautiful town of Pagosa Springs. Pagosa Springs is named by the Southwestern Ute word, "Pagosah" which now translates as, "healing waters,” after the sulfur hot springs in town, including the world’s deepest geothermal hot spring. And during our one full day in the area, we explored as much of the town and the surrounding area as we can, including a free hot spring, waterfalls, and beautiful views!

So, after watching a few of your videos, I decided I needed to come to Colorado. Just pulled into Pagosa Springs this evening. Will be Durango, then a few days in the Silverton and Ouray taking the same hikes you shared, including the Jeep rental. The crazy thing is on my way through the mountains today my Sprinter van wouldn't paddle shift anymore and I noticed I was losing power climbing the hills. I made it to my campsite and when I was talking to my wife this evening, who couldn't make this trip with me, and as I told her what was happening with the van she said "Iwas watching a video this evening of a young couple who took their Sprinter van to the Artic Ocean. While they were traveling, the van had the exact same issue. " She texted me the link to the video. I opened it up and started laughing. It was you guys! I watched Adam deal with the valve issue, and now I know what I'm doing first thing in the morning before I make the hike up to four mile fals. Your videos got me here, and then helped me with my van. Love watching u guys!!!!
Oh how wild! I hope it worked out for you and it’s driving great now! It’s crazy how much it helps
We hope you had fun in Colorado! Thank you for watching!
Been a resident of Pagosa Springs for almost 20 years. Love it and live it every single day.
That is awesome! It’s an amazing place from what we could tell!
I been here for 20 years too. Meet me at the Buck Stop or the Breakroom for a cocktail???
I missed my vacation and fishing there 2010-17. I'm planning to spend 2 weeks there soon.
I really miss Pagosa Springs, Colorado, in 2012-2017 vacation spot. Maybe one day, I'll retire there.
I love this place come here every year 10/10
Aww man, we stayed in Pagosa Springs about a year ago and it is a special place. Those hot springs are healing. Unlike a bathtub, the heat stays constant so it really penetrates deep down to your bones. That valley along 160 leading up to Wolf Creek pass is so lush and beautiful. Looking forward to your Ouray adventure. I went there many years ago and saw wild mountain goats while hiking.
It is soooo soothing to sit in them! Very excited to share more from the drive up to Ouray and Ouray itself. LOVED it up there!
That kind of day is the kind we live to see! The waterfalls and that last view down to the valley...great!
It was such an awesome day! Love us some waterfalls!
As a local of pagosa I Love this video so much thank you for visiting us!!
We love your town! Thanks for the warm welcome!
my dad grew up in pagosa springs and i grew up going here all the time. it's so nostalgic to me and an amazing place to be!!!
I love to watch waterfall, specially in this time of the year; when everything is melting.. love the whole video. The hot spring in cold weather is ❤❤

We are pretty dang grateful!
Can’t wait to go back to Pagosa Springs! We moved to CO almost 4 years ago and it’s exactly how you describe it. Amazing. We don’t get tired of exploring it. It’s a big play yard in your back yard. Enjoy the state!
There is so much to do in CO! Y’all have an amazing backyard!

Great video guys! I loved your time at the Misty Deck, Kathryn your utter joy at the experience, so sweet 😊
Something about being sprayed by a waterfall makes me giggle so much lol!
So fun to see your adventures in Pagosa Springs! Had a buddy who grew up there and spoke fondly of how truly beautiful it is. Hoping to visit some day!

Amazing video. Good views, good hikes, good looking food. That salad looked absolutely amazing!
So glad you enjoyed it Ernie!
I love those little freebie springs outside the main one ! I have always wanted to visit that area too !
They are a great option for those of us who cannot afford the fancy hot springs!
What an awesome day! Excellent vlog as always. Stunning views, beautiful waterfalls, and hot springs. Quite the trifecta.
Pagosa Springs looked like an awesome little town. Sorta what I wished Hot Springs NP was like.
It was definitely the perfect trifecta! It’s a gorgeous area!
Great video! You guys rock, keep doing what you guys do. Just remember haters going to hate, stay positive, that what make you great! Stay safe and healthy. PS great to see more of the pup!!
Thanks Mark! Trying to focus on the great people, not the mean ones! Haha and Kona is very happy to get to join more adventures in CO!
You guys are making us wish we added Colorado to our stops on our way back to Florida! Love this waterfalls 💙💙
It has been incredible here! Loving every second!
Love all your videos! Beautiful area!
It's stunning down in Southern CO! Thank you for watching!
We ventured through Pagosa Springs last summer but only got a glimpse of the hot springs because of our one night stay. We're in Colorado Springs for the summer, so we'll definitely have to head back there. Thanks for sharing those hikes. You're absolutely right, you can't beat the smells or the sites here in Colorado. It's fun to find snow in May, too.
We need to spend more time in Colorado Springs! Sooo much to see and do here in CO!
That is awesome ! What a sweet hack !
🙌🏼🙌🏼
I thought that scenery was gorgeous, and then I saw that salad. HELLO!
Hahaha no joke, Adam is making it right now for dinner. 😂
Especially enjoyed Treasure Falls and Wolf Creek Pass. Y'all are doing an amazing job with your vlogs, and I really do appreciate them.
Thank you so much Eric, we appreciate it!
Oooh . Lovely scenery. Can't wait to hear what you have to say about the million dollar highway. That drive scared the crap out of me!!!
We are happy to report we have now survived driving it 5 times! Haha! LOVE IT!
Loved Pagosa Springs…breathtakingly beautiful and the hot spring looked so cozy and warm (even if it was a bit smelly 🤣)! Root House was adorable…so glad you were able to stop in (too bad Amy’s sister wasn’t there!). I always love to see Kona Bear appearances and the bloopers at the end! Kathryn, your air guitar was on spot and I think you can join Adam on tour!
It's a gorgeous area, even if it stinks a little bit! Makes it feel more like authentic hot springs! And we hope to take you to Root House sometime and maybe Amy will even be there for you 😉
Awesome video you guys! I now NEED to go to Colorado! thank you for sharing! 😘
Go go go!!! 💗
Love that you made it to Pagosa! Our whole family loves this place. Glad you go to the Mother ship (er, um, I mean the Mother spring). Will have to try some of those shops & trails the next time we are back. Keep the adventures coming 🏔🧘🏼♀️🚴🪂
We love it there so much! So glad your family does too!
I’ve hiked that trail to the first waterfall before when I lived in Colorado! While playing around at the falls, we got hit with a pretty big hailstorm. We took cover under the shelf for the worst of it, then hiked back to the car as it tapered off. That was an awesome day, a crazy adventure, and incredibly beautiful views! This video makes me miss Colorado so much!! I’m glad you were able to experience it!
Next summer you should go hike up Mount Wheeler in New Mexico! That was, hands down, the most beautiful views I have ever seen. Definitely take some time to sit for a while about halfway up and admire the view with your eyes! A camera doesn’t do it justice!
Oh wow! That’s crazy! Glad y’all stayed safe!
We did Wheeler Peak back in June 2020! We have a video from it and it’s still one of the hardest hikes we have ever done.
A waterfall treasure trove!! I love this part of Colorado!! We love Ridgeway. I haven't visited this area ,so this has been a real learning experience. As usual, you guys are the best 👌 ❤
We will be hiking near Ridgway this weekend (fingers crossed)!
I think you will really like it . A sweet small town.
Stunning video! Hot springs looked amazing as well as those waterfalls! Loved the air guitar! 🤣~Cara
Hahaha thanks y'all!
You guys have a really fun adventurous spirit - I’ll check out more of your videos but the Pagosa one was great!
Thank you! We had a great time in SW Colorado last year! Thanks for watching!
Living vicariously through your travels is delighting a and k!
Trying to live vicariously through y'alls abs are much harder!
Must work out more :)
Hahahahaha
The hot springs probably feel pretty good on an achy back. The waterfalls really cool..
We need to find more hot springs after long hikes, sooo soothing!
Hello Adventurers😊😊😊, those hot springs looked VERY inviting. I sure wish I was there. My son and I spent 4 days in Miami with day trip to Key West...and got drenched from torrential downpours but made the most of it by checking out cool places in the Keys and it was nice and sunny, and we aren't done as we are headed to the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. I have done the Million Dollar Hwy and Ouray is a cool town. It definitely looks like the "Switzerland of the USA". The ride is absolutely SPECTACULAR!! Great video👍👍👍👍👍!
We really want to visit the Keys! Have a great time at the New River Gorge, we really loved it there, has a remote, natural feeling still. And we LOVED the drive and Ouray! Such a gorgeous area!
Beautiful...🥰❣️👣🌻🌷💓🌿🌏🌄✌️
I loved the bloopers and Kate's outro at the end of the video.
Ready to rock 'n roll! 🎸🎸🎸
@@AdventuresofAplusK that was a pleasant surprise
So glad you liked it! Haha!
That hike looked beautiful! And your food sounds good!
It is such a beautiful area out there!
awesome! glad i found you guys! great content for people that love nature and want to travel to special places. the hot springs look relaxing. i did a lot of that many years ago when i built trails in Yellowstone Park right out of high school......nothing like relaxing in a hot spring in the middle of the wilderness at night with a full moon and sky full of stars....doesn't get any better than that. keep up the great work!
Oh I bet the hot springs out there are amazing! We only have been to the ones you see there, not soak in!
On my way! See ya soon!😘🎉❤
Your videos are awesome!!! I've been binging on your videos because my hubby and I are planning to visit Colorado in early August and I can't decide where we should go! Every place in Colorado look amazing
The San Juan’s are the BEST! Our favorite area of Colorado for sure!
Ah Katherine i see your tripod shread game is strong 💪💪 and Adam appeared to be channelling the snow ball Matrix. 🤣🤣🤣
Hahahaha 😂 😂 😂 Just full of talents over here!
Went to Pagosa last summer and loved the area. The free hot springs are cool I didn’t know about that but treasure falls was a cool but easy hike for sure
Treasure Falls is such a great, accessible option for those wanting to see a waterfall!
Love the content!
Thanks Brian!
and again a nice vid and trip - have fun you two. My hometown "Aachen" has also been known for its hot sulfur springs since the romans came here
Very cool! We will have to check that out when we make it there someday!
Love your videos! We are heading to Pagosa in May and enjoyed seeing where you went while you were there!
Thank you and thanks for watching! You’ll love it there!
I’m so proud to live in colorado
Awesome Video.
Thank you so much!
I have never been to Switzerland, but in my mind, your hiking adventure looked like a trip to Switzerland...beautiful!!!
We are actually going to have a video from the "Switzerland of America" soon!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Awesome! (Your meal looked great too!)
We had it again tonight! 😂
So fun! We were in pagosa in April! Love it!
It's such a gorgeous area!
LMAO! Those bloopers are the best!
😂😂😂😂
I was just there last week. It’s awesome
It's one of our favorite places!
Thank you for this video! I've been thinking about moving to Pagosa Springs- this video was so informative!
We are so glad you enjoyed it! It seems like an incredible place to live with lots to do nearby!
Wow! Beautiful hike! So much greenery (and snow! and water!) which would be super welcome here with this week of temps we're having. 😅 Interesting fact about the Austin/Root House connection. Lived in Austin almost 14 years but had no idea!
Oh man, we got stuck in 100 degrees this week a bit north of here. BRUTAL! So we feel ya on that. Currently on our way to find cooler temps again.
@@AdventuresofAplusK If you find those temps, send them down here. Supposed to be 116 today. 😂
I've been in 46 state Colorado is my favorite.
It’s one of our favorites as well!
Looks so nice there, Kona had fun too
She had a blast! She loves water and snow!
Love your videos. We're passing through southern Colorado in a week and are staying a couple nights near Pagosa Springs. We plan to stop at Treasure Falls and do the Four-Mile Falls hike. Seeing your footage of the hike was a teaser for the beauty to come. Keep up the good work.
Yay! So happy you get to experience these spots for yourself!
Dooood. We missed this when we came through Durango on the way to Santa Fe from Mesa Verde. We were there in October a couple of years ago. This would have been perfect.
Oooo October would be a great time to visit too with the aspens! You'll just have to go back! 😉
Oooohhhhh that salad looked really good. The Hot Springs look awesome! I am always finding myself saving all the you guys go to in Google maps. Cheers from California!
It's our go-to and we ate it again last night lol!
Cool video, such a beautiful area! We just came back from tent camping at the east fork dispersed camping area off 160 just north of Pagosa (the week of Memorial Day). It l was beautiful weather! Thanks for sharing!
Ah very nice! It’s stunning out there!
Colorado is so beautiful 😍! Looking forward to visiting my cousin who lives there 😃🌲🏔️!
Definitely taking note of those trails 🤓😊🙌!!
We are absolutely loving it here! Have a great time if you do visit!
We loved Pagosa Springs! Good thing y'all did the soak early in that spot, later in the day it's crowded! Your channel is fantastic! Thanks for sharing! (just subbed 😎)...and that salad looks delish!
Oh we bet! Being right off the sidewalk, I am sure it gets super busy! Thanks so much for watching and subbing!
Just found your channel by my interest in the hot springs, love the waterfall slow mo shots. Subbed
Thanks and thanks for watching!
I am so glad you got to experience Pagosa- I went to high school there! How lucky am I?! (Those springs is stinky!!😁)
VERY lucky!
Colorado is a beautiful state but this area has a little of everything that makes Colorado so nice. I like the waterfalls but the alpine meadows were special
We looove the meadows!
QUÉ HERMOSAS CASCADAS!!!!!!! your Spanish class of the day! LOL. You are so much fun guys! I was totally distracted watching your video and didn't realize a deer was walking by me... being in nature under the pine trees makes you so relaxed deers don't even care about your presence. Going to visit a couple of cascadas west of Deadwood or Spearfish today myself.
Congratulations on avoiding the snow balls, great technique!!!!! Jajaja (Spanish laughter) thank you for another great video! 👍
Nos encanta el español! (if that is wrong, blame Google translate haha) We love seeing deers in the wild! We hope you enjoy those awesome SD waterfalls!
@@AdventuresofAplusK muy bien dicho!!! LOL 😆
Wish we knew about the free hot springs there! We did the resort and treasure falls. Pagosa springs is great 🙂
The resort looked super nice!
really cool, you guys are about 50 miles from where both my parents were born and raised. Del Norte, Monte vista.
Ahh amazing! We have camped out there before!
I have not seen any of your Vlogs since Christmas time, sorry, so to fix that I made sure to put notifications on. Thank you for the great content very enjoyable
Hi Justin! No worries, glad to have you back! 💗
@@AdventuresofAplusK I'm glad I could be back, cant wait to continue the journey with you both
Great video. Very well done and informative. Subbed.
Thanks a bunch! ❤️
Those hikes looked awesome. I would be driving up to hike at the cooler elevations in Colorado if my pets were more portable (but they're very non-portable and difficult for others to care for).
The cooler temps higher up have been saving us a bit, as it is getting pretty hot down low (we know you know the feeling!)
Awesome seeing that part of Colorado...don't know much about that area. And can I formally put in a request for an all blooper video? Just a 40 min compilation of all of them. Guaranteed the UA-cam algorithm will love it.
Hahaha we may just have to do that someday!
if ya'll make it further into San Juan mountains, Creede is an old mining town that has some great little places to shop and eat.
Creede looks super cool!
Wow. You guys are so awesome and cute.
I've heard that million dollar highway is scary, be careful.
We have now driven it 5 times I think haha, it is AWESOME! Some drop offs, but the speed limit is so low, so you have to be careful.
PLEASE, more ice cream. :)
Hahahah on it! 😜Don't have to twist our arm!
I absolutely love your videos! One question though, on hikes that are outside of national parks have you considered not giving the name of hikes? I'm a native to Colorado and am all for tourism but we've had so many trails including ice lakes, hanging lakes, etc. that are overwhelmed with foot traffic, and the trails are quite literally getting ruined. Happy you enjoyed the falls! Looking forward to see where else you go to in Colorado!
We totally understand the concern and have experienced it living in Washington as well. However, our goal is to help others travel (and do so responsibly. We put LNT principles on every guide on our site, try to lead by example, etc), not just show off our own adventures. And by gatekeeping trails, our channel becomes more of a "look at what WE get to do" and less of our goal of "look what YOU can do too!" and makes our videos way less helpful and informative and takes away the entire purpose of Adventures of A+K. It's a very tricky subject for travel bloggers like us, who make their income by sharing places to visit and helping people travel, and one that we are conflicted on, but we're doing the best we can.
