I'm trying delicious desserts/pastries/sweets that originate from all over the mediterranean and are popular in the Arab world.

I’m Greek and we have 3 of those sweets in Greece, they are so delicious , sweets with syrup are the best ❤️🇬🇷

I was born and raised in Turkey. I have Arab roots from my father's side yet I've never tasted any sort of Arab dishes before. But by watching this video I realize how similar our cuisines are because we've been exposed to Islamic/Arabic culture. I don't really know where Baklava originated from but I had been taught it was invented by us. We also have Haleiwa (which we call 'Helva') and Kanafeh (which we call 'Künefe') all the mentioned sweets are super duper yummy. 😍😍

In Jordan, knafeh is usually stuck together it’s like a huge rectangle that is cut into smaller rectangles or squares and we have two types of knafeh one that is called “na3meh” which translates to “soft” or “kheshneh” which translates to “rough”

We do the same thing as you do with the nuts but we do it with sesame seeds in Somalia. We call it Sisin. We have a verision with peanuts but I don't know the name of it and I've only eaten it at weddings. My favorite somali treat is Qumbe though, its like a coconut biscuit. Love the video. Knafeh is amazing.
