Flex, Rocks, Skid Plate Abuse - Yankee Hill in the Bronco!

- July 2nd Team Red Rubicon (which is no longer all Red Rubicons lol) went up Cumberland Gulch to access Yankee Hill outside of Idaho Springs, Colorado.
I was FINALLY able to get the bronco on some challenging terrain and not just "fire roads" that are close to my house. I knew going into this that I'd be into the bottom of the Bronco quite a bit, and I sure was.
It has extremely similar ground clearance to the Jeep JL I traded in, but it for sure needs to be a little taller. That will be a "this coming winter" project if funds allow.

Looks like it was a fun day!
Amazing Videos Justin, keep it up, thanks
not jealous of your trails. nope. maybe a little. nice video.
Lol
Miners gulch 1 trail off from yankee hill is killer to go down or up.
Like one with the duck. A friend of mine has a jeep and he talks about getting and leaving rubber ducks on his vehicle. Looks like you found where they keep the rocks in CO.
We got a lot of weird looks hahaha
We have a Yankee Hill , here in California, nothing like yours though : )
What Bronco is that you got ?? Great footage. Awesome camera work . Do you still have your Jeep ??
It's the badlands. No I traded the jeep in.
Seems like a little bit more ground clearance is needed on the bronco not much just a little, I just don’t know if they’ve come out with a proven lift system on those yet that are strong enough little more lift and a little bit taller tire would probably be perfect, it looks like it really floats over the rough stuff nicely
It is a quite impressive machine but yes it needs to be just a little taller. I'm going to run it as is the rest of this season and get serious about putting it on 37s. That was my end goal all along.
Overall it’s a nice vehicle I just recently did a long trip on my new jeep 392 I tow a teardrop trailer that’s modified for off-road & the trip was awesome the jeep was great but the drive home wore me out, I actually was thinking of a bronco raptor since I have a 392 but my dealer that has one wants $130,000 that’s totally insane that’s over 40,000 over invoice I do feel the bronco would be better for long trips to trail heads, I love jeeps I’ve had 14 of them so I’m definitely a jeep guy and the 392 is so much fun to drive and of course I’ve modified mine I went with Rockrawler lift kit originally I put 4 1/2 inch lift on it but their kit does not work with the front pinion angles I destroyed 4 drive shafts so we had to lower it to the 3 1/2 inch lift I wasn’t very happy about that but overall it’s a lot of fun I wanted to test drive the bronco raptor but with their price and they don’t budge is absolutely ridiculous, Seems all the dealers in my area are just taking advantage for something that’s in high demand. enjoy your bronco you got a nice one and I am a bit jealous of the comfort you have now👍
@@jonluchessi1643 the bronco corners like a sports car in the mountains, and handles the trails just fine! impressive flex for an IFS rig.
Is that the factory front mudflap on your Bronco?
No I had to add those.
See you have sourced "mud flaps" for your rig... which is very similar to mine sans door count. Would you share what you installed?
These are just weather tech flaps
Hi would you like to review free 7inch led headlights?
what tire pressure did you run in this video?
It was around 12 ish. Kept changing with the temps and elevation gain/loss.
