A few notes I missed in my excitement:
1 - It says act of faith PER UNIT. So you could drop them all over the place. Triumph allows multiple on ONE unit. Very interesting... I think that while we will be gaining more dice overall (with the battle sisters abilities no doubt) the fact you can burn through them uber fast is something to be warned of.
2 - I didn't realize the blood of the marytrs conferred a +1 to hit/+1 to wound in melee AND shooting. The concept of +1 to wound flamers or meltas is terrifying.
3 - Did not see combi weapons for the main battle sisters squads. Don't know if it will be built in a different way, but I don't think GW will fully remove it. They're doing a "in the box" situation, so perhaps armory card?
4 - Tomorrow is Votann. GW loves me it seems lmao | PREDICTION: Judgement tokens go from auto wound 6/5/4 to 1 token = sustained hits 1 | 2 = lethal hits | 3 = devastating blows when attacking said enemy.
If those three stack, that sounds like it would be even worse than pre-nerf Votan. “Oh, I rolled a 6 to hit? That’s twice the damage in mortal wounds.”
And if they don’t stack it feels like a weird system because any of those three benefits can be better than the others depending on target. Against a horde, replacing Sustained Hits with Lethal Hits is a downgrade, and against a tank replacing Lethal Hits with Devastating Wounds may be a downgrade depending on the weapon’s AP.
I worry "excitement" might not be the correct term to use in this scenario. I'd more describe it as "The Passion" you feel for Sisters. After all, you are quite the "Zealot" for the Sororitas. Perhaps one might even describe your feelings as a "Raging Fervor".
The limit to 1 miracle dice use per phase per unit in 9th means that it was always 1 guarantee die for charging.
The addendum in the miracle die description just clarify this point.
However, with the triumph in the unit. A 12 inch guarantee charge for sacresants or repentia is ONLY now poasible.
Yeah Sisters Look real strong, as soon as i saw that Votann will be next i thought "Bricky is gonna be very happy today"
@@Florkl Two notes.
1) The wound from Lethal Hits is not a Critical Wound, so it does not trigger Devastating Wounds.
2) The additional hit from Sustained Hits 1 is not a Critical Hit, so it would not activate Lethal Hits.
Hey Bricky, the Miracle Dice portion says “before you roll” so you’d have to decide whether to risk using one without knowing if you’d need it
Only time it would apply after seems to be CP rerolls. The main change seems to be you just have a ton more ways to get miracle dice.
Can confirm, this is how Strands (you know, better Miracle Dice) currently work. Interesting that they don't use the same wording as current strands; "Before making a roll of any of the types"
Ngl I'd say that that's an excellent move. If Big E wills it, it matters not what fate (aka Tzeentch that tentacle fuck) had in store
Nah, warhammer's rules are written taking slow rolling as the default. Like the attack sequence ends stuff, you roll to hit, then wound, then they save, then damage. Then you do it for your 9 other bolt guns in that order. So the before you roll means that you can't roll a 1, then be like, Oh i want to substitute that for my 4 here.
So, I may be wrong but I believe it has always been "worded" that way.
The thing is, each individual dice roll is considered a singular roll. If I was firing 8 melta shots, I could roll them 1 at a time and each is a roll. So if I rolled 7 of the melta shots one by one, I could then get to my 8th roll and say "before I roll, I will use a miracle dice"
It's a weird rules thing with fast rolling/miracle dice overall. I've done it and had it done to me at tournaments plenty. Though if there was an FAQ, or if someone with more knowledge on that specific rolling sequence can let me know if I'm mistaken please do.
Now being able to do an act of faith once for EACH unit is damn nutty! Can't wait to try those 10th edition sisters.
I was literally refreshing ytb until this video was on my page, super hyped for sisters in 10ed
For people wondering, Brick is correct about the Miracle Dice. Because each attack is it's own sequence, for example, each hit, wound, and save is it's own individual "dice roll" or in this case "sequence of dice rolls"
So you can still roll all of the fast-rolled saves at the same time, save one and figure out if you want to miracle it, since it's still "before" that roll.
I hope you are correct. I don't want to have been doing this wrong the whole time
We don't know how attack sequences work yet, so it could very well be different in 10th.
@@kaibe5241 I would be surprised if GW changed it, they've always explicitly described each attack -> damage as it's own sequence. Recently they did start adding notes about fast-rolling as a time-saving device but I don't think they'd make fast-rolling the default, there are still cases where you can't fast-roll
@7:50 "pretty starved of miracle dice" he says, yeaaaah the battle sisters disagree
also, you cant use one per phase, its one per phase PER UNIT
you can miracle dice every unit in your army in a single phase if you have enough, you just cant use 2 on the same unit, exact wording "EACH UNIT from your army with this ability can perform one act of faith per phase"
With sisters gaining miracle dice every time a unit dies, it just increases my desire for repentia and penitent engines with perma overcharged plasma. Just march them up and watch them do a little damage while they blow themselves up, generating some miracle dice in the process.
I want regular old suicide bomber repentia.
@@cousinzeke4888 that too tbh. Could give them explosive spears like the ww2 japanese lunge mine, or just the classic bomb vest, or have one be the anti tank and the other be the anti personel loadout. And also a suicide bomber penitent engine, for those sinners bad enough to be sentinced to a penitent engine but whos sins are only just barely severe enough, so they get used in a method that will be reliably pretty quick, and when the end comes it'll be final so they suffer no more unlike normal penitent engines where the pilot keeps suffering for an extremely prolonged period. Could be like the Japanese Ohka manned missile also from ww2, except probably tank launched from something broadly equivalent to a Guard Manticore instead of deployed via plane. I also love the idea of repentia operating modified vehicles that technically function but are hazardous to their occupants, like a modified shadowsword but with a Titan grade plasma blast gun or melta cannon that's prone to cooking its crew in exchange for anti Titanic firepower. Could have it be followed around by some normal repentia waiting for the crew to die so they can climb in, kick the corpses out of their chairs and take their turn at the control, and some extra repentia with the grisley duty of disposing of expired crew. Would be an interesting way to play up the horror of the Adeptus Sororitas. Bonus points if the vehicle has voice distorting vox speakers so the crew's screams of agony are distorted into singing or battle cries and played to those around the vehicle to steel their nerves and terrify the foe, like the Brazen Bull torture device but also a giant tank with a HUGE gun.
Perfectly flavorful, as all things should be.
@@Bluecho4 thank you! I imagine the repentia working the big vehicles would be penitents who have valuable skills operating heavy vehicles, making them slightly more valuable than common repentia, but not so valuable as to exempt them from potentially being cooked alive by their own machines. Basically the repentia superiors trying to allocate penitents as efficiently as they can, for the God emporer abhors wastefulness. If one's life must be sacrificed in his name, best that it be done to achieve maximum possible impact. I also had an idea of a special version using shells containing living demon hosts packed all around with explosives in an iron maiden, for the most even the horrific sinners can be at least partially redeemed by being used to drag the enemy of the emporer down to the depths of hell as they themselves are cast down.
Note that cherub isn't wargear, its just a standard squad ability
I completely agree about the 9ed codex cover art. It didn't scream "Sisters of Battle" to me the way the 8th art did, and was nowhere near as hard as the 3-4th edition codex Witchhunters. I'm liking what I'm seeing so far and the changes to Morvenn don't really bother me personally because I didn't like taking her...I really don't like the baby carriage mech suits and haven't found a good 3rd party replacement yet.
EDIT: I also see that there is a way to play Sisters in 10th where you will be drowning in Miracle Dice and I'm vibing with it
Agreed, the 8th cover kicks 9ths ass.
I think the only baby carriage that looks bad is the grey knight one. Morvenn has enough of her body encapsulated for me to see the suit in the way it's meant to be taken.
That 8th edition limited edition art 😍😍😍
2nd edition SoB codex artwork is still the best, but the 3rd-4th ed Witchunters and 8th ed was great as well
Bricky every day for the rest of the month: "Oh Boy, 6 AM!"
Just in case you didn't refresh the article Bricky, the faction focus for tomorrow is Leagues of Votann. Prepare to be judged
I find the indirect fire on the Exorcist conflaguration rockets funny. The indirect give them a cover save, buth the rockets ignore cover anyway
Man, this is gonna be a STRONG comeback army. I am kinda digging the way 10th is handling your armies “boss” model and how it makes them feel so special. I am hoping they restrict these massive buff characters to you get 1 and only 1. It seems to be based off the Keeper being more akin to a Daemon Tank than a Daemon General but I’m surprised they went with the Triumph over Celestine as your big army boss. Maybe she will just be a massively powerful bruiser character
What I like about this is that they basically also confirm how characters such as The Silent King will work
been watching all of these as a new player who's building Genestealer Cults as her first army, mostly because I know with GSC you gotta know what your opponent is doing in order to outplay them. So basically what i gather from this is "don't assume the sisters player is gonna roll bad because they can always just decide to roll good"
This is accurate
32:27 "And 3 other melters will come your way"
Aw poor bricky, he really believes Retributors will be able to take the 2 melters that aren't in the box
The CSM Bolter is probably with Bolter Discipline/Malicious Volleys rolled in, except you just always get 2 shots instead of having to stay still to get rapid fire at max range.
Yeah makes sense to be a fluff of training. The marine is able to accurately burst at longer range
"I think we might potentially lose Miracle Dice". Oh boy, you are in for a treat!
Sisters creating a soft catch 22 where you either kill the unit and give them a miracle die or hurt the unit a lot and buff it.
So you are boned no matter what you do XD
hurt the unit and have rejoice the fallen activated to hurt you back. My question is if you rejoice the fallen and are at that half strenght do you get the bonus for being under durring yrou rejoice he fallen retaliation attack?
Love how Bricky his anticipation and reaction to Miracle Dice were the exact same as mine❤
I didn't realize that CSM boltguns aren't rapid-fire but just have 2 attacks.
*Mr incredible uncanny music*
I love that they have made Battle Sisters a really important part of the army. I love the classic BS squads and it was sad that for a long time they were just seen as a points tax and people ran the absolute bare minimum of them.
I dont play the tabletop game, but ive really enjoyed all of these thumbnail edits of Bricky as the different factions.
Lets go!!! These always get uploaded right in time for me going on lunch, amazing
I'm happy you're happy about miracle dice. Don't know anything about the tabletop but Miracle Dice sounds fun.
I'm loving the thumbnails on these videos
It's been said before, but I'll repeat it: Each of your units can do 1 Act of Faith per phase. Meaning at any time you can blow through all your miracle dice. With the Triumph it's even easier plus you should still be able to make any Charge possible, especially if you want multiple charges to go through.
Lmao I never knew the Exorcist wasn't an artillery piece, that's hilarious. Like how did the missile work before? One of those cruise missiles that are launched straight upwards, do a 90° turn and then head off?
No option for the combi weapon on the BSS squad was weird. I was looking forward to seeing what the condemnor bolt gun did :(
I couldn't agree more with you on the cover art for the Sisters codex. 8th Edition art was perfect!
For the battle sisters bolt gun being different to the marines bolt gun my guess is that they folded in bolter discipline for the marines data sheet and left it the same for everybody that doesn’t have a version of that
it's almost like the new way of listing weapon profiles lets them customize units without taking up extra space for rules that need to be looked up.
Indirect fire sounds pretty good for guard. Especially paired with heavy and take aim. We might see basilisks hitting on 3s.
Love waking up to some Bricky looking at rules
Every time one of the faction focuses come out it makes me want to start another army. Why are they all so cool?
Still waiting on to see either my mains Orks or Death Guards turn for the spotlight, but cool seeing all these armies getting a nice tweak in tenth edition.
Yeah, I don't even know what Sororitas used to do, and they were never going to be my cup of tea, but it's cool to see the factions being introduced.
Sort of like I'm starting for the first time.
Got to see something for my Nids, also waiting on Deathguard
Past Bricky, pre-read: "Miracle Dice are probably gone."
Me, post-read: "Oh ye of little faith."
I have the sneaking suspicion that Celestine is going to be greater daemon level of power, based on the hints.
What hints?
Been waiting all morning for NUNDAM ACTION
Next up?
ROCK AND STONE!!!
One of the funniest combos is having a Dialogus lead a Retributor squad, then have them hang out near the Triumph on Ebon Chalice mode. Dump any number of miracle dice into auto-6 meltas and laugh like a maniac
for the boltgun I think I can rationalize it with the space marines taking the recoil more easily so they have more shot in the right direction than a sister at long range
its the Bolter Discipline (SM version) and Malicious Volleys (CSM version) ability but always turned on instead of conditional
"Sisters, I need your blood!"
I didn't hear it mentioned, but acts of faith are no longer restricted to one per phase, rather once per unit per phase.
It seems the cherub's ability to regenerate a miracle dice could be used by basic sisters as a sort if miracle dice reroll.
You might have missed this, but in 10th Acts of faith are 1 per unit, per phase. Not only 1 unit per phase, as in 9th. So now everyone can Act of faith in every phase.
my sisters are gonna be on the board so much more next edition. been on that quin grind, but i have always loved my sob more than my other armies... for 40k at least.
Oh I was SOOOOO looking forward to this video
They really love Bricky. Now LoV next. Only Custodes is missing, and every army from Bricky is covered
I think the triumph being a Leader is supposed to be the other unit acting as escorts
I love how Bricky gushes over Sisters the same way I gush about Necrons
he changed his shirt im so proud
"I'm a little worried" "I hope miracle dice stay but I don't think they will" oh boy it was the complete opposite. Full lean into miracles
Leagues of Votaan are next! im so excited and curious to see if they keep the judgement token system
bricky, would you be willing to do these promethium side chats more often? like not even just about warhammer stats but a personal chat about something you're passionate about that might not fit into a video?
I have been literally waiting to eat breakfast for this
I like that they're moving miracle dice to be primarily from your units dying, rather than killing the enemy. The old rewarded snowballing, the new one encourages comebacks, so I like it from a general design theory standpoint alone.
With all the MD farming from Battle Sisters Squads, it also encourages pushing for objectives and killing enemies.
Our boy has been eatin good this week.
The only thing missing is a reveal of what we can do with low value miracle dice. Just because now we can't use them for morale rolls. It would just be nice to confirm that even if i whiff all my miracle dice rolls I could still do something with them. I'm sure there will be rules like that, just would have been nice to see it.
That thumbnail makes me worried that you're about to ask to speak to the Manager
Bricky at this point you are faster than Auspex Tactics with these
I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and guess tomorrow is orks
Yeah..... I smell a quick FAQ with a hard cap for miracle dice earned per battle round.
Does miracle dice work roughly the same as the Screaming Bell rolls for Skaven? Roll 1D6, and the number represents the outcome?
@Bricky, have you read any of the Sororitas books and any you recommend as solid stories?
So Kasket Kathy has a retinue and is a leader. Leaders can join units, like repentia. She is also infantry, which can go in transports. Kathy, repentia superior, and repentia squad popping out of the holy hearse.
I’m guessing CSM boltguns are different because they have the strength to maintain that extra shot out to 24”.
Heya, newbie here looking to venture into the sisters as my first army and i have a question regarding sisters-
i want to color my sisters based on their theme and i'm unsure if the sub-factions remain (bloody rose, ebon chalice, etc) or should i just throw worry out of the window and color the sisters however i want as it's uncertain that 9th ed themes are gonna carry over?
I like that if Celestine loses her bodyguards she's +1 to hit/wound... so good.
also, if a character is a leader in a half strength unit do they get the +1/+1?
The thumbnail game is on point
The difference in boltgun was probably adapting Bolter Discipline
Hey bricky,
just a thought, but CSM had hateful volleys which let them rapid fire at any range if they didn't move before. It looks like GW is just baking Bolter Discipline / Hateful Volleys into space marine boltgun stat lines.
could you have the Kathrine group in 6 inches of a sisters units on a point to be generating 6 MD every turn by holding a point? Also with Juneith granting you one additional cp every turn could you realistically be using rejoice the fallen every turn for free for relationation attacks?
I read the article before the video came out, and when I saw what all was being previewed, I KNEW Bricky was going to be giddier than a school girl getting a note from their crush. Acts of Faith, Triumph preview, the Indirect on the artillery tank, I was like "Yup. Brick man will need a change of pants after this."
The difference in the csm boltgun and this boltgun is probably because of bolter discipline. That would be alota words to use up on out 1 page rules so they likely baked it in
It comes our right around 6:20 PST
I think he said Martyrdom, but the way Bricky pronounced it it sounded like Martyr-Dom, and I think the latter is a very different kind of sister, but might also be Brick approved XD.
I’m just here for the thumbnails now
The indirect stuff makes me really hopefully they'll make Biovores cool again.
If anyone was wondering, Vottan is tomorrow
Que bricky gaming montage of sisters while listening to "girls just wanna have fun" plus if anyone is curious they stated that votann was next
When the weapon has Indirect Fire and Ignores cover 👀..
I like these thumbnails a lot
The way he says "miracle" as "marigold" is both funny and infuriating
Brickyard may be talking about Sisters but he’s feeling Slaanesh.
So with the new battle shock does that mean 1s for miracle dice won't be used now?
There will probably be mechanics that let you discard two low dice for another effect.
Bricky eating good these last few days.
HERE WE GO
Ah yes the army of ongo gablogian! I kitbashed a league unit with a sisters unit for that meme
Seems I didnt choose wrongly... started building and painting last month
It would be cool if you could drop Vahl in with a Pargon Warsuit Unit.
Whenever the auras say any friendly [Faction] unit within 6" of this unit gets this buff, it means that friendly unit that is within 6" of the model emitting the aura gets the buff not the model giving off the aura.
Units always count as being within range of their own aura, so unless it requires specific keywords or other criteria, it absolutely does mean the unit with the aura.
@@AtomDragon12 Ok, I was going strictly by the grammar of what was in each aura rule. The way it is written implies that the character model emits an aura that applies a buff to any friendly units with whatever faction specified with the 6" range. That said and upon a little research as I am more knowledgeable of 40k lore rather than the tabletop rules, since the model emitting the aura is also of the faction stated in the description, it does make sense that it can cast a buff on itself and friendly units surrounding itself within a 6" range.
Bricky: YESSSSS YYYYYEEEEESSSSSSS
in this faction focus: Bricky creams his jorts, and apparently plays WoW while reviewing the changes
I think the CSM boltgun and space marines bolt rifle isn't rapid because of a built-in bolter discipline while the sisters boltgun is rapid fire 1 becuase they don't have a "bolter discipline"
Watching Brickys vids instead of Auspexs. The one and only source of Information
Imagine if you have like 8 miracle dice between 3-6,
With the triumph of saint Catherine, use any amount of miracle dice, 2 retributor squads with 4 multi-meltas each having them auto hit and wound.
8 melta shots go brrr
When your in a ‘simp for Sisters of Battle’ competition and your opponent is Bricky ‘The Brick’ Taylor. 😢😢😢
This is the faction I've been waiting for and this article told me basically nothing. They're tweaking a few numbers but no big changes, at least not yet.
G'morning Bricky, I was looking forward to this one, I know sod all about Sisters, wanted to get your expert opinion!
If only they'd brought back templates. Indirect fire templates were a blast (hehe) to play with or against. Hell, still are in Horus Heresy, even after artillery got nerfed in 2.0.
Leagues of Votann tomorrow
