- It's a lot less difficult to grasp than the old quad-railed Picatinny handguards, but the surface of an AR-15 handguard with M-LOK® accessory-mounting slots can be a little slippery. It also doesn't always give you good feedback on where your hand is positioned. Relax. Problem solved. Brownells Gun Tech™ Caleb shows us the Forward Controls Design M-LOK® handguard cover. The MCF or "M-LOK Cover, Forward [Controls Design]" is made of tough yet lightweight machined G10 fiberglass composite with a dimpled texture covering the entire surface. Whatever angle you're reaching from, the MCF's dimples are gonna give you plenty of traction, so you can maintain a firm grasp on the handguard for excellent control of your rifle.
The M-LOK® T-nuts are hardened stainless steel, so once you clamp down an MCF on your handguard, it's not going anywhere until you decide to move it. The MCF comes in two sizes: one covers two M-LOK® slots, the other covers three slots. So you have plenty of customizing options. FCD also offers the MCF-A, a machined aluminum version that helps dissipate barrel heat. The PCM is a version of the MCF-A with cable-management provisions for remote switches on lights, laser-sights, and night vision devices.
BONUS: Whether your gun is a budget build or a "super-Gucci" custom rifle, Forward Controls Design M-LOK covers are going to look great on it. After all, dimples ARE cute! - Спорт
What a realistic handguard. Thanks Caleb.
$35 for rail covers?? Slate black is my go too for $16.
and get 3 a pack too for less than 20 bucks. Idk what forward controls is doing charging over 20 for just 1..was it designed by NASA?
@@762x69 Paying for a name like every other thing lol
@@762x69it’s g10 slate black is plastic
The MCF is now being replaced by the MCF-A (aluminum), which were released in March. They aren't making the G10 version anymore.
Too bad, I'd rather have the G10. Doubt I'd replace what I've got now though which is a rubber grip that just pops in.
@@Fauxknight Yeah, I like my G10 RailScales.
Pretty happy with my AT3 tactical rail covers at 3 for 25 bucks.
People showing a lot of hate, but this product has its pros and cons. FR4 and polymer feel quite different in the hands. One has to be cut into shape and another is molded.
Slate Black all the way man
Dimple gang!
So people buy a slim rail just to add rail covers? wouldn't this almost be the same size as a normal pic rail?
Does the FDE color match with Magpul accessories?
About as good as anything else matches. My magpul stuff doesn't even match all my other magpul stuff.
Why would the hardware need to be stainless? If the cover is only subjected to mild pressure, trim a little more weight and make the fasteners from a polymer also.
Good question. Maybe because the company foresaw that they were going to switch to an all aluminum MCF as stated by csxt602 in his comment above?
So do havea question for you. I installed Midwest Handguard (M-Lock) on my AR-308/ Bushmaster and I also purchased MAGPUL ARM17S bipob. Do you know of an adapter to mount it. Greatly appreciate it if you could let me know of one.
I really appreciate any help you can provide.

The mount itself? LaRue Tactical, a wonderful US company with excellent craftmanship and prices, makes the "LaRue Tactical Upgrade LT271". The company A.R.M.S. itself makes a mount "A.R.M.S. 17s Throw Lever". Just buy a solid quality M-LOK Picatinny rail section for the underside of the MW Handguard and use one of the mounts mentioned to attach your bipod to it.
@@lordofentropy I have always trusted LaRue. I have purchased many an item and installed it on my AR platforms and my M21, love their products.
Thanks for the reminder.. Let you know how it all turned out
@@bobpritchard979 Awesome, LaRue is a great one to trust. I have a couple of their triggers for my ARs. I have no doubt their bipod mount would be high-quality as well, though that's just an assumption based off the quality of their triggers.
Ok but why? Air flow vs ?
I don't get either but here is what Forward Control's web site says "Machined in G10, with the AA surface (All Angles, or dimpled) pattern we developed for our bolt catch (ABC/R), forward assist (LDFA), ambidextrous magazine release (EMR-A). The AA concept was not developed for aesthetics, but as a versatile surface that offers equal traction from all angles of approach (thus the AA designation). The AA surface can hardly find a better application than hand guard rail covers, where a user's hand can have multiple angles of approach and hold the hand guard in different ways." I would have to try them but I don't see any real use for them.
I could see a cable management function , but besides that , and since this isn't that , I also don't get it.
VZ has already been making these for so long now.
Inflation or no inflation: Almost ninety euros for three pieces of rubber - that's pretty intense.
So I prefer the parts from Slate Black Tactical.
G10 isn’t rubber or plastic. It’s a totally different material that is light and strong.
How hot do they get is all that matters to me…
Too bad they don't sell these G10s anymore. Their aluminum now

Slate Black Tactical are way better!
Have you tested these?
Who?
And where is FCD made and where is Slate Black made again?
Slate black is in the US
@@brandojaco You got a source for Slate being made in the US?
The exposed metal screws will burn the F out of your hands. Ask me how I know.

was not worth my time. Silly product. There are much better options available already.
Yet you didn't name one
