I've got a 2007 XKR in Botanical Green (BRG with a gold fleck) and know I'd be exactly the same as yourself should I ever part with it. They are beautiful cars. Okay they have their issues but I never park up without giving it an admiring glance. Thanks for sharing your time with the XKR and good luck in Malaysia.

Lovely colour that Botanical green. You always look back at these cars and always enjoy walking up to them. It’s been a real privilege

I'm feeling your pain. Why don't more people recognise quality when they see it. He's got a Brill car.

Good luck with what ever you are up to
I was born in KL, my Father was in customs and excise. Catching drugs running down the Melacca Straights. Left when they got their independence in 1957. Did a re visit in 2012 and spent a week in Penang. Delightful.

I completely understand and identify. My first Jag was a 3.0ltr petrol V6 premium luxury XF, it was an 08 car, I wanted an early one because I think they look distinctive, also the very early ones the cable under the water pump doesn't lead to the main junction box like in the 2010 ones onward.
I never realised how much they could get under your skin. I paid, like you, £6500 for it about 6 years ago now, I had the interior replaced, all the front and rear suspension poly bushed, and at just over 100,000 miles the gearbox gave out. I had it rebuilt twice and also had new inlet manifold control valves and spark plugs fitted, total for the lot £6000. Spent thousands on servicing, had the gearbox and diff serviced, basically it was very pampered. I ended up selling it for £3,500 about a year ago after just paying the £6000 bill. (I had my XJ by then so it had to go) it went to another enthusiast so it's all good. But you're right, watching it go was hard.
