- This is my first game ever of the Men Who Would be Kings. This battle report is also part one of a 2 part comparison experiment between The Men Who Would be Kings and Rebels and Patriots. The second of those two games will be starting this afternoon! I hope you are all doing well and are having a pleasant weekend!
Col. Hezekiah Stumpfnagel. Six toes on left foot and dyspeptic. Leadership 8.
I heard that. What a bunch of misfits. I can't wait to replace 2 guys from each side and see how that affects the next battle! Have a great week 👍
Only 7 minutes in and I'm already thinking , Damn ! If only the Case brothers were here ! Captain Ed Case ( an aggressively psychotic individual ) and his brother Captain Justin Case ( a mild mannered and cautious man tasked by his parents to keep an eye on Ed ) 😅.
The cast of characters in that battle reminded me more of a dysfunctional family reunion than a combat engagement 🤣. I hope you enjoyed it my friend. Have a fantastic week!
Good game. I sense a little frustration with the rules ;) when troops run, they run! Have a great Sunday mate
I really enjoyed the rules. The way MWWBKs accomplishes command friction is so completely different than anything else I have tried caught me off guard. I can't wait to compare it to Rebels and Patriots. Have a great week my friend 👍
YT keep removing my comments which is p*ssing me off. If this one gets through, I really enjoyed that one ;)
Got it Rob! Thanks for being persistent. I appreciate that my friend 👍
That was good. How would you compare Men Who Would Be Kings to Sharp Practice?
Thanks, Doug! They are similar, but the methods they use to create command friction are, of course, command friction are entirely different. In MWWBK it is highly more likely to win by killing every single enemy soldier compared to SP where Force Morale and Breaking the Enemy's Spirit is much more common.
The Random Leader Traits in MWWBK's was fantastic. Unfortunately for the Confederates, they had a lot more Combat Ineffectives commanding key units.
I am looking forward to my next game of it! I hope you had a good weekend my friend 👍
Great battle report really enjoy your videos keep up the good work I don't worry if you got bits wrong we all do🤠🤠🤠🏆🏆🏆
Thanks so much! I really wanted to go into that battle flying by the seat of my pants so you guys could learn right along with me. The Rebel and Patriots game, I'm sure, will be the same way. I hope you have a fantastic week my friend! I appreciate your feedback!
Great battle, and good to see you use many different rule sets and try them out always an enjoyable watch mate 😊
Thanks Darrin! I always appreciate hearing from you Sir! I hope you had a great weekend 👍 I just started the Rebels and Patriots battle last night. Have a great week!
Outstanding my main Man...Most Epic!!!
Love it! Have a great day! Thanks for the feedback 😀
Great game with the swinging back and forth on the battlefield. I remember visiting the Perryville battlefield back in 1995 while stationed at Ft Knox.
Keep up the hard work
Thanks, my friend! I wasn't sure who was going to win that till the very end! I'm glad we both enjoyed it. Have a fantastic week my friend 👍
Good game. Gives a good sense of the rules and the leader personality feature is something I'd like to add to Sharp Practice. Lucky both sides started off with sizeable forces otherwise they would've massacred each other in 10 minutes.
Thanks my friend. Some of those traits can be completely paralyzing. Great idea to integrate with Sharp Practice. Have a fantastic weekend 👍
@@basement1908 Yes, I won't have so many drunks and hope to vary the types of leader, with a few more positive traits.
@@duncanrichardson5306 excellent
9 day's now, locked and loaded patiently waiting for next engagement. Sit Rep please Steve
I was thinking that too. The game is halfway done on the basement table. I just finalized a huge project at work, so life should return to normal tomorrow! Can't wait to finish the battle
@@basement1908 All good Steve, just happy to know all is ok with you.
Even better the second time! Excellent!
Thanks again!
Great battle report 😂
Thank you so much! Have an outstanding weekend 😎
Good video.
Thanks, Fred! I appreciate that. Have a fantastic weekend 👍
Very nice battle report. I am not sure if I like this ruleset. I guess the leader personality traits can be tweaked but my goodness, both armies are full of misfits. I do like traits for leaders though. It brings personality to the game.
Well done! I look forward to seeing Rebels and Patriots.
I'm totally with you! This system uses an entirely different mechanism to create command friction. It really caught me by surprise. You definitely struggle with some of these Combat Ineffectives to accomplish strategic goals. Have a fantastic week 👍
Outstanding! Thank you for sharing!
Glad you liked it! You are awesome! Have a fantastic week
