    Jason this is another area you stand out. I like facts and not bull sh** for dollars. This is the Kayak I am buying before Spring "if I can get my hands on the 136 in the blue and black". My son will be home for good from the Marines and he wants to spend time fishing from a Kayak. My other two sons are going to do the same so I am pumped as you can imagine. I heard you mention Amped I believe as the battery Mfg. I was looking at Dakota but have also heard Alex from down in Florida mention those. Sounds like a 100 amp 12 volt would be good for long trips and heavy use. That was helpful. 54 amp sounds like it may be pushing it so 100 it is. I really don't think there is a better set up out there right now and for a first time Kayak I am certain I will be happy with it. I know to get a PDF that sits low under the arms as well. Thanks for all the tips and thourough walk through.

    So i gotta old tarpon back from the 90s early 2000s. Im curious, it doesnt have the side rail (or room for them) but it does have a considerable flat area just behind the seat, could i just drill a 2 by 4 across that and mount rod holders from there? Not catching 60 pounders but would like a stable rod holder system. Let me know what you think @kayakcatfish

    Justin I know you touched on the battery life a little bit. I am not familiar with the area you fish, but where I am located, I would have to dead head up to 3 miles both ways to get to where I would fish. Would you be comfortable with that battery and setup given that scenario? Thanks for any input you have.

    • @KayakCatfish
      @KayakCatfish  4 роки тому +1

      I probably wouldn’t run full speed for the entire 6 miles but if you cut back on the throttle a little bit, you should be able to get there and back and spot lock for your trip without issue.

    • @KayakCatfish
      @KayakCatfish  4 роки тому +2

      You can’t reach the area by hand due to the limited access. I drilled my holes and dropped fishing line down into them. I then used some yak attack rigging billets to snake the backing plate into place. Yak attack has some old videos on UA-cam that are very helpful with installing backing plates into places you can’t reach.
