I adopted a 10-year-old cat in 2017 who had been surrendered by the family of its previous owner who died. I didn't know at the time but it was her last day on this earth as she was getting euthanised that night if not sold beforehand. She was in a huge cold dark concrete room - in a tiny wire cage - out the back- by herself. She'd been there for three months. She loves to sit beside me at my desk and watch cat videos.
God bless you. Our local shelter used to be a non kill. Yet the latest director kills many, many cats. If they are scarred, timid, whatever. And they still toot the horn that they have a 98% live adoptable rate. Fast forward Dec. 2019, they now advertise sick animals up for adoption (that need big $, for ongoing medical care). When they killed many, many healthy ones. What is wrong is right, and what ought to be right, is wrong. Just a sign of the times, for those that have eyes to see!
@@CatGale "Thank you for adopting the ca.t" I always find it a bit weird when people thank others like this. It's almost as if they alone care about the cats and the others don't. As if their caring is somehow superior than others' and they have exclusive rights over the cat. A better response would be to say - It's so wonderful you adopted that cat. Just my unsought feedback. (Somehow this applies more to the 'thanks for adopting' comment than the 'thanks for saving their life' one.)
I adopted an all white 11yr old female in the middle of December. She's still very active but she is also a lazy bum who likes to lay by me and relax a lot of the time. I love getting older cats not only because they are much better behaved but because I don't want them to be stuck in a cage or glass room in a shelter for the rest of their life.
I'm gonna get mine from a breeder, my decision. I want a kitten that I can raise, not a cat that has been abandoned, probably even treated badly. Getting them from a shelter is just dumb. If you get one from a shelter, another cat doesn't find a home. Cats from breeders need homes too.
@@maarcoo97 lol your logic comes full circle, did you even watch the video. Shelter cats are sometimes abandoned or mistreated, people like you avoid them so they live out the rest of their lives without a home. Anyone and everyone would take in a kitten, but fewer would shelter cats. Whether or not you want to give a shelter cat a good life is up to you, no one cares.
@@sadisticeggsaladchan2819 I wanna give a "normal" cat a good life. it's funny that he makes this video, that clearly tells you to adopt an older cat, but gets 2 kittens shortly after.
What happens to shop animals if they're not bought? Buying feeds the industry, but I can't help but wonder what they would do if an animal doesn't get bought.
I adopted a 16 year old cat in 2017. Two years later, she's still going strong! She's healthy, playful, and well-behaved. I cherish every moment with her!
Good for you both! I adopted a 17 year old back in 09, we shared 7 more years together. I'd do it again in a heartbeat! I now only take in older cats! Sunny lived to be 24 years old. She let me know when it was time. I kept her happy and healthy... we never know how much time remains. But we live them while we can! They so appreciate being chosen! ❤️
Wauw my kitty turned 7, at times I cry because what if he won’t live long since 7 years is a senior cat. I hope that my kitty reaches that age too. 10 years of more fun.
I adopted my handsome black cat Panther about 18 months ago, directly from his previous person, Bob. Bob was a WWII light-bomber and at 95, had to go into a seniors’ residence. Panther is now about 9 or 10, so has some good years to come. I’m 76 and healthy, so we are well matched. He’s quite the character and I adore him. He’s the 17th cat in my life; at one point, when my husband was still around, we had four cats and a 50-pound dog. They got along very well.
Last year we adopted a 10 YO black kitty, he is great. However, when we first saw him he look bad. He had lost his first forever home and had been in the homeless shelter for 3 Months. He had a lot of stress and had over groomed his fur. He had very little fur on his belly and legs. Also, he had a bad tooth and infection. Yes, he looked bad. But, when I touched his head he purred. We thought we had to adopt him because no one else would and I was pretty sure he was a good boy. We adopted him and took him to our vet. After x=rays, blood work and attending to his abscessed tooth we took him home. It did take him a couple of months to feel at home with our other cats. But he was very much a home with my Wife and I and sleep on our bed ever night. Great CAT.
I adopted my cat when she was 16! Her owner had passed away and she was dumped at a shelter. No one wanted a cat so old so I adopted her instead. Two years later, she is still alive and very healthy! She looks just like the cat in this video. Ginger cats are awesome :D
"If you still haven't been convinced that adopting an older cat is a good idea", then just take one long look at gorgeous Gale. Isn't that reason enough...💜 xxx
Yes! Adopt the older kitties. I adopted my cat 3 years ago. He was 15 years old with some age related health issues but they've cleared up. He's 18 now, still gets the zoomies, loves to give me cuddles, but not overwhelm me with them, and purrs, purrs, purrs. We send our ❤ to Gale and your other babies. Thank you for your positive videos!
Catacrypt we had a cat who was going on 19 when she passed away. I also knew a woman who had a cat for 24 years. And I currently have a 15 year old cat, hoping she will reach 18+! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️
@@gaetanodragonetti3942 I adopted a 17 year old and she lived to be 24. My only Sunshine has been gone now for 3 years (as of February 1st of this year), and I miss her so much! At the shelter, others had passed her up because of her age. She'd been there for 2 months when I took her. She was so appreciative at being chosen! After I brought her home, I let her explore on her own while I went to take a nap... She found me in no time, hopped onto my bed layed her head on my arm looking at me purring! Instant love 💖 Thank you for taking in an older kitty.
Catacrypt i have a friend. Hers cat was 21/22 years when he died......but if that cat had been mine, he had not been leaving so long.....beecouse of many health problems, if i been her vets i had say to her, you must let him die, this is not good for him. She was with the cat at her vets ouns a week the last year he was leaving....thats no good i think 🐱🥺
@@kristinmelinamercury8880 It's not always that way with older kitties!! I had a kitty that lived to be 23 years old, and only had one bladder infection and was treated and got better and that was that!! I had a beautiful Ginger kitty who was 21 when he passed, and we had a cancerous tumor that we had removed, and he lived another three happy years with us and died quietly. My last kitty died at 19 and never went to the vet except for his vaccines!! So, there was no unnatural death, etc., etc.!! Maybe the lady was especially attached to her kitty and couldn't bare to have it die!! I've been there!!😿😿✝️⚜️
So beautifully written and oh so true. I only take in older cats, my first being a 17 year old cat from the shelter. I could write a book about her! We shared another 7 years of love before she let me know that it was time to go to the Rainbow Bridge. She was my Sunshine, my Only Sunshine, she was a keeper from the very first hour I had her home... What a joy... I'm in tears as I write, she's been gone for 3 years and I miss her so much! 💔 She'd been dearly loved by her former owner and it showed, and I continued to love her, she was a beautiful ginger, 6 pounds. My best friend... Sunny, I'll always love YOU!
Terri S this proves that you still can spend many years with an older cat. Many people don’t want them because they think they won’t have them for long but you got 7 more years out of a 17 year old cat. People should give older cats a shot.
Gale is such a sweetheart. My 11 year old cat, "Tyge" developed Pancreatitis and spent several days at the veterinarian. Total cost: $2200. He's home now and doing well. He has been thanking us constantly with hugs, purrs, head bumps and meows. Worth every single penny of love. :-)
Mary Clark Thank you so much for spending the money and not just abandoning him at some pet store. People like you are the heroes without capes we all need in this world. 😊
With all due respect, but that's the downside to adult cats. Strong, younger cats (1 to 2 years) are not as expensive as old, 'sick' cats. Some people would say; 'If you can't care for an old cat, don't adopt them' but wouldn't it be sad if a family had the space and the time and the love, but not the money to care for a *very* sick cat? I'd argue that, if the family is committed to a number of vet-appointments and unexpected costs, it's a great opportunity for cats to find a home. Sure, it's an important message to adopt the older cats. But I still very much understand why people would want to develop a bond and not get a cat that has much trouble adjusting to normal life because of former issues. My downstairs neighbour has a cat, that he loves, but he regrets getting a cat from the shelter because one moment he cuddles and the next, he's hissing and peeing on the couch. The cat had been physically abused by the former owner and well..you can't erase that from his mind. His former cats were calm and helped him whenever he was anxious. This one causes worries.
I too always ask for the cat that nobody wants. Through the years, many cats have gone from being on death row to hitting the jackpot big time! Our Jane has been ruling the house for five years now and going strong. Much love to you and the cats.
I had adopted a 13 year old cat and gave her a happy retirement until she was 17. She was so appreciative when she moved in, happy to have a home again. I would definitely adopt an elderly cat or dog again.
After my beloved cat of 14 yrs passed away this summer, I went to the shelter and adopted the saddest cat I found, even looked similar to my old girl. I was too sad to start over with a kitten and wanted to help a cat who'd normally not have a good chance to be adopted. It was awkward at first, we were both sad and been through a lot but now we had each other. Fast forward 4 months and she looks like a different cat, happy, confident and grooming herself regularly, sometimes the most rewarding thing isn't about what the cat gives you but the impact of what you've given them.
I adopted a older cat from my local shelter. She is such a love. The kitties were calling me, but because I work all day I didn't think it was fair to leave a kitten all day. Not that I want to leave De_De either. But she was in a large room with about 10 other older cats . When I walked in she jumped off a shelf & tried to jump up my legs. Scooped her up. So happy she picked me!
I definitely believe in adopting older cats as their owners may have died or they were turned in for other reasons. I looked for the cat that had been in the shelter the longest. 2 were at foster homes and Blackie 2 years old had been there 11 months. Owner died, husband's job required time away from home. Her sibling got adopted but she was shy and scared. Plus black cats are less likely to be adopted.. Took her home along with Chloe who had been there 5 months with Blackie in the same room. They play together, chase each other, sleep on my bed with me , like attention and pretty much have me trained! Took awhile for Blackie to come out of her shell, and still skittish sometimes but getting better😺😺😺😺😺😺
We ended up with our neighbor's black cat. They were not cat people, had 3 dogs, 3 other cats, a small yard, and she was spending the majority of her days in our yard. She's not a lap cat. She does snuggle with us in bed. And since moving in she uses her litter box just fine. Where she was living, she used to use the bathtub as her litter box.
❤️🐯Thank you for this video encouraging people to adopt older cats!! So many of these blessed animals sit in dark, lonely cages, to be “put down” every year, just waiting to be saved - Each still has so much laughter, companionship, & love to give, without the supervision kittens & younger cats need. And they’re just soooo appreciative.🐯❤️
I’ve adopted both young and old . It’s always depended on what kitties needed homes. Every time that I have adopted an older cat, they are very appreciative and form a strong bond with me!
I usually walk in the shelter and ask which cat is getting euthanized that day. That's how I pick my lovely friends. Its more emotional work to get them humanized (since they are classified as unadoptable by the shelters standards) , but its totally worth it in the end. Once they start showing love... They don't stop, and we're best friends forever
I'm so glad you posted a video about this. There's a real need for it, and there are a lot of pluses in adopting older cats. Rescuing them from the shelter is the main one. What a hell on earth that must be, to be abandoned. And I do believe they are grateful and love you all the more for it.
I am grateful everyday that my grown up feline friend picked me. My local Pet’s Mart holds adoption days for shelter cats. I like to pay the adoption fees for an older cat. Milo has given me so much love I want to give another human an extra incentive to let an adult cat pick them.
Last year I adopted a 14 year old cat whose owner went yo a nursing home and whose children surrendered her to a local cat shelter. I wanted to adopt another kitty after losing my 10 year Cat to liver cancer but was hesitant because I am in my 70s. So I decided that from now on I would adopt old animals from shelter. She turned 15 last June and she is a total sweetheart. I know that I will go through losing them more often, but then thar will be offset by knowing they enjoyed a few more happy years.
Many years ago one of my friends children came home with this tiny ginger kitten he had found, it was adopted and had reached the age of eight before the family decided to emigrate to Canada and I was asked if I would give him a home. It was probably the best thing, apart from meeting my wife that has ever happened to me, brings a tear to my eye just thinking about him. He would come the instant I called his name, Zappa, and would respond to instruction almost like a dog. He was self aware, something not generally considered possible for a cat, I say this because it was my habit to stand in front of a mirror holding him so he could understand what he was seeing was himself. Self aware? yes, because one day I did it while he had some dirt on his face, the instant I put him down he began grooming that exact spot to remove the dirt he had seen. When I had a stroke several years ago and collapsed at the top of the stairs trying to reach my wife, who was in bed, it was Zappa who alerted my wife to my predicament. She was woken by what she says were the screeches of a Banshee, when she opened the bedroom door she found me laying face down and unconscious with Zappa going crazy, headbutting and literally punching my face with his paws, she describes him as being in a state of acute panic. I was in hospital for the best part of a week and my wife tells me he only left my man cave to eat and poop during the entire time I was away. Sadly Zappa himself had a stoke when he was 22, went blind and deaf overnight, it was humbling to see how he overcame the handicap living quite contentedly to the age of 23 before a cancerous growth meant we had to do the hardest of all things and have him put to sleep. A few years later, 1 year ago, my wife and I decided to give a home to another cat, we actually ended up with two, Davypuss and Skycat, 5 and 12 yo respectively. I hit it off with Davypuss instantly, no problems with him, but Skycat wouldn't let me near him, past experiences with a male I imagine? Still I have persevered and last week he actually came into the man cave and laid down on the couch with me while I was floating away to The Space Ritual. It was quite a special moment and worth waiting for, neither of them will ever replace Zappa, they have to be the most stupid cats on the planet :), but the relationship is building and because of the difficulty communicating with Skycat very rewarding. I recall watching a lecture on You Tube by Walter Veith many years ago during which he postulated the idea that man can achieve far more in harmony with God than we ever can while opposed to him. I understand now what he meant. Our relationship with our animals is very similar, just as we can be more than we are in harmony with God, so animals fulfill their true potential when in harmony with us. I remain awestruck.
We're getting our first cat as a family soon and wanted to get an older cat so we had to worry less about training etc plus we wanted to go to a shelter but I've been worried about getting an older cat and was second guessing our plans... Until now! Thanks for the video!
I figure that kittens are much more adoptable, which is why I always go for adult cats. I just adopted a nine-year-old and am enjoying every minute with her!!
Wow. Through all the close ups of Gale, I was able to see how gorgeous his markings are. That wonderful white of his cheeks is beautiful. Those swirly stripes of his front legs are hypnotizing to watch. Gale is in such good shape. He just looks like a finely chiseled male cat model. And his face....oh that face is just adorable. Anyone who would have the pleasure of being around him in person would instantly fall in love with him. Gale, you are love personified.
I adopted this six month old cat from my aunts house because her son no longer wanted her , I guess because she was no longer a kitten. My son and I love her so much. I still remember the first day I brought her home. She is my second best decision.
I was out driving one evening out in the country to calm my nerves and a cat darted out of a cornfield and went across the street in front of my car. I stopped, got out and stood next to the bushes that he went into. We talked back and forth, until he decided to come out of the bushes. He was the sweetest stray cat and had noticeable issues: cross eyed, malnourished, roundworms, fleas, ticks, scars, and an injury on his leg. I picked him up (he let me) and took him home. I was able to get him inside of my apartment without a kennel. I put him down outside of my front door and let him decide on whether he would come inside or not (he did). He’s now a healthy boy and I named him Jeff! He is such a sweetie and I love him so much! I can’t believe it’s been 6 months already!
I adopted an adult cat for the first and last reasons. When I met my kitty he was in a room with a bunch of other cats and he was running up to anyone that entered the room and begging for attention. Everone else was ignoring him (probably because he is really big and was super needy) and I could see how desperate he was to get out of the shelter so I couldn't just leave him there. He's such a great and loving cat. He knows that he was rescued and is always showing how much he appreciates it.
Thank you Gale and Thank you MB vids for this beautiful video... there's so much love in ALL cats, but especially in those older adult cats! Just LOOK at Gale's PAWS as he stretches his cute toes in ecstasy as he snuggles up against his human for some scritches! I have dreams of a wondrous paradise in which ALL kitties who need a home could live in & find the joy, play, fun, pleasure, attention, health, stimulation, friendship & LOVE they ALL deserve to SHARE --- each & every one! For there is no deeper spiritual bond of Peace,Serenity & Love than that which fills your heart & soul together... cat & human as Best Friends! Thanks again for sharing this beautiful video & it's LOVE for CATS! GALE is a blessing to the world... and what a CUTE blessing!!! J.
I adopted a sickly 13 year old orange long haired female cat years ago. She spent 3 months in a small cage at a rescue shelter. Nobody wanted her. I took her and gave her the opportunity to be an indoor/outdoor cat using a cat door. One day I was in my office at home doing work and decided to take a break. I went into the hallway and there on the carpet were about 15 white flower buds all lined up in a row from my kitchen to my office. I then looked out my office window to the driveway and there she was with a big white flower bud in her mouth. She saw me and let out a cry which caused the flower bud to drop from her mouth. Some cats bring in dead mice to show their appreciation. My cat brought me flowers!
Thanks for another heartwarming video. All cats have their own personality, just like people! Gale is so cute and happy, I love the part with him laying in the sun flicking his tail!
...and your heart doesn't break when you leave an older cat at the shelter, knowing they're not likely to be adopted. You can do something that'll truly make a difference. 😻 Thank you for making this video!
Totally agree with your video about rescuing an older cat!! I rescued mine on Clear Out The Shelter Day about 3 years ago and he was already named Babyface. My beloved German Shepherd had recently died and I never thought about a cat!! Babyface is without a doubt the most affectionate, loving, friendly cat I ever could have known existed! Adopt or rescue an older cat---you won't regret it!! 😄
OMG that purring is so addictive I love it, over the years we adopted 4 older cats the 5th was a stray just out of kitten-hood our orange cat seemed happy to play papa they became inseparable best of all they had a fellow feline companion
Older Cats, (like any Human) just want to relax and enjoy their winter years. They are our co patriots, a boon companion and our friends. Cats are the friends we do not deserve.🐈

An FYI to prospective cat owners watching this video - I've never, ever regretted adopting an adult cat. My cat (a Maine Coon mix) was approximately two years old and in the shelter for five months before I adopted him. Why no one took him before me (or put him in the shelter in the first place) is beyond my comprehension. The only thing my neighbor and I could figure out is that possibly his original owner got backed into a corner and was forced to give him up. Casey (my cat) came to my home very loving, caring, litter trained and self grooming - just like the video says. And trust me, he knew he had been taken to a new forever home away from the shelter. When I picked him up the first morning after I brought him home, I was delighted to hear him purring as loud as he possibly could. He KNEW he had a new home!! That was nine years ago and he is still a joy. FYI -- Diane.
One of My community cat is also a ginger and getting a little old now. I like how laid back and friendly he is. Enjoys being around with ppl. This video makes me think of him 🥰
I adopted a 7 year old black female cat and she was by far the gentlest, sweetest animal I've ever known, she lived to be 15 despite several chronic health issues. She was also already litter trained & extremely clean.
Very true ..i adopted 3 weeks old kitty motu who lost his family he is 6 month old now we love him soooo much😘😘😘😘..few weeks back again adopted 8 yrs old cat 😌😇
You've got yourself one, very happy cat! What a purr motor cuddle bug! I have 2 ginger girls from the same litter. I adopted them at the shelter, but they were older kittens. They'll be 13 in June and they are very spoiled and loved!
I just lost my cat that looked like this one in August...and another senior black cat in January.....I’m looking for more seniors .....Senior cats are all I need.👍😻
Terrific video pointing out all the good that comes from adopting an older cat. My cat, Pumpkin, adopted me when she was 3 years old, and we spent 12-1/2 very happy years together. She's been gone 5 years now, and I miss her and think about her every single day.
lol I have a 14-year-old who still has the zoomies and plays with my 2 years old just as crazy. I only have one cat Ive had since she was tiny. The rest were adopted as adults (unless you dont count 2 as an adult yet, lol)
Some folks do fall on hard times. It IS the last thing that real cat people wish to do, is give up their cat(s). It is best to first try to find them another home before taking them to a shelter . . .
I love this video so so so so SO much. Not only is it fun to watch this lovely kitty, but you're also doing a great service to the community by dispelling some nasty half truths about adopting adult cats. Thank you so much!
Gale is the coolest! How in the world could anyone NOT love that little hammer-head? Thanks for the video and for supporting older cat adoptions. Give Gale a big hug for me please!
Oh... my gosh... very clever remarks and how necessary ! Thank You for this beautiful video. ❤ And thank You for seeing Gale still coming to You, hugging You and purring. 😊 And fantastic is the moment with Lis combined with Your commentary ! I mean the moment when Lis... to make a couch, hahaha ! Have I already told You that You are wise, a cat's Guardian...? ;) ❤
Thank you so much for this! I think a lot of people are dreaming of a "cute little kitten" - and do not really know how much attention, supervision and "entertainment" the new member of the family needs... I am grateful my ginger senior (13 in May) sleeps after midnight and does not "make biscuits" on me at 4 in the morning or wakes me up with loud "meooooows" when it is still dark outside because HE thinks it is time now for the first food of the day. When he has to leave earth I will for sure adopt another senior from a shelter in his honour...
Very true. I never had regrets adopting an older dog (at the age of 7) and cats (5+). Such a rewarding experience! They will continue learning, developing, and changing even when older-- just like humans. And totally, older animals continue to play -- if given a chance. All it takes is a positive /supportive environment.
Love to hear gale purr like crazy😊😊 and he is one very very Happy cat😊😊 Great people to love him..a true cat paradise 😁👍👍👍 and the 2 young tazmaining devils to keep all laughing with their silly but very entertaining antics😂😂😂😂

I absolutely agree with this vid. Anyway take care all and much love to my fav fam.😘😹😻😹🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾❤💛❤💛
My husband and I adopted an 8.5 year old kitty a few weeks ago, and it was the best decision we ever made. We love her so much and she brings us so much joy. I find myself crying at times because I am so overwhelmed with love for her. Senior cats rock!
My cat was a stray before she arrived at the shelter. No one wanted her because she would hiss at anyone. The shelter thought of putting her down but I took her regardless. Within a week even with hissing I petted her and she immediately started bumping her head on my hand asking for more. All she wanted was a bit of love but she was too scared to ask for it. Now she's a bundle of joy. My husband and I love her unconditionally. although, it takes her a bit to be okay with strangers.
Such a beautiful cat! Seems to love you very much, they won't act like yours does unless there's love!!! You are SOOO lucky to have this wonderful creature!!!
7:30 + The healing sound of a Purr is so wonderful! Little Gara just knew what would happen if she pulled that sofa throw! , but she just had to do it!
Very lovely cat! One other point about adopting cats -- they have a nice soft and sweet-sounding meow! I would never adopt a dog because barking gets on my nerves.
We adopted two old men from the shelter. We didn't have them as long as other felines, but were still deeply enriched by their little lives. There's a lot of satisfaction in adopting the ones that nobody wants.
Older cats truly appreciate the love you give them, I got my tuxedo cat when he was 5 and now that he's 15 he still gets excited for his wet food and the love he didn't get as a kitten. He's the most loyal pet I've ever had!
Purr purr, knead knead, red pillow, blanket, rolling in the floor, cuteness beyond measure = Gale(❤)'s trademarks! (I also loved when the camera switched from the outside to Gale (❤) about to clean himself and he was waiting for the 'Action' command from the director!) Conclusion: Gale(❤) is the best!
We adopted 2 adult cats, as we felt them to be often overlooked. I've never thought that adult cats could develop so much, so become their true selves over the years. It's been amazing journey, with a strong bond from us to the cats and I think they both kinda like us too. We never anticipated them to bond this strongly, but they did. A very rewarding experience.
I love the idea of adopting older cats. It gives me great satisfaction to know I'm giving an older cat a loving home in it's twilight years and making it's days as happy as possible. Older cats are usually the last to be adopted and this greatly upsets me. They need love too, more in fact. They will show you a lot of love in return and it makes me so warm inside and is so touching to know I'm giving an older cat a better life and lots of love in it's last years.
we got a mama cat and one of her kittens (from her last litter ever). a couple years later, we got another kitten. the two little ones are bonkers, and mama occasionally joins in their craziness, but mostly she lays on surfaces looking critical of everything. i love them all so much.
I have two 9-year-old cats that I’ve had since they were kittens, and I can confirm that they have so much love to give and they still play like kittens sometimes. They love to cuddle with you and sleep all day. I’d totally adopt an adult cat if I didn’t already have some.
Thank you for adopting the cat.
You saved a life.. amazing!
Thank you for saving the kitty's life.

Truer words cannot be said. Adopt don't shop.
Especially considering that you can find the cat that looks exactly like breed you want in shelter.
I wish every older cat in the world could be cherished and treated like this one
That would spread happiness all over the world

@Brookes_Drawings thank the Lord for pet adopters like you. And older cats thank you too
I adopted a 16 year old cat in 2017. Two years later, she's still going strong! She's healthy, playful, and well-behaved. I cherish every moment with her!
wow...
Hey how is she doing now? ❤️
Is she still alive and okay? 😊
Yay! Happy for you and panther :)
Great CAT.
This man, without a word spoken, demonstrates Humanity's most profound communication; compassion and love.
As soon as I get my house with a garden, I’m heading straight to the shelter and getting the oldest 2 cats in there. Can’t wait! 😻😻
Dollie I don’t know you but I love you already
Yeah I decided to get some older cats after buying my own place as well. Can't have cats now because my family won't let me.
I adopted my cat when she was 16! Her owner had passed away and she was dumped at a shelter. No one wanted a cat so old so I adopted her instead. Two years later, she is still alive and very healthy! She looks just like the cat in this video. Ginger cats are awesome :D

Cory Palmer I’m glad you adopted your older baby, bless you and your kitty forever! 🙏🏼❤️
Instant love 💖
Thank you for taking in an older kitty.
😭 Hugs...
You therefore must be a beautiful person yourself.
WOW! 24 years old, what an amazing life! glad you had so many years with her god bless!
Dr. Seuss said, "Don't cry because it's over - smile because it happened".
Cost to bring him home healthy: $2200
The time you get from the sweet boy: Priceless
Mary Clark Thank you for loving your boy so much!!😻
He clearly appreciated what you did for him. Bless you for your love and care of him!
7 reasons: cute and fluffy
#1 unconditional love #2 unconditional love #3 unconditional love.... Did I mention unconditional love 😻😻😻
Thank you for taking care of those elder kitties. You must have a heart of gold.
Susan Landreth you're very kind and a beautiful human being inside and outside ❤
Most prefer kittens because they are cute. Those who adopt older pets know the true value.
And that last sentence shows what a huge and unselfish heart you have :)
God bless you and your kind soul ❤️
If you sound like a can opener the kitty will always come.
So beautifully written! What an amazing story.
This was such a great story thanks for sharing
You got it wrong. Your cat is the god figure, not you.
i cried reading this honestly
We're getting our first cat as a family soon and wanted to get an older cat so we had to worry less about training etc plus we wanted to go to a shelter but I've been worried about getting an older cat and was second guessing our plans... Until now! Thanks for the video!
If you like a cuddly animal, an older cat is perfect.
If I got a cat like this I'm gonna name him Jupiter. Because how you described the patterns reminds me of jupiter haha
My cat was two years old when I adopted him, now he's 15.
I’m adopting a 2 year old cat this week! I don’t understand why people think they’re too old they’re still so young
Such a beautiful kitty.🐈🐾🐾❤😊🐱

TigerEyes That is for sure.
Oh wow, how sweet 😊 💗

Totally agree with your video about rescuing an older cat!! I rescued mine on Clear Out The Shelter Day about 3 years ago and he was already named Babyface. My beloved German Shepherd had recently died and I never thought about a cat!! Babyface is without a doubt the most affectionate, loving, friendly cat I ever could have known existed! Adopt or rescue an older cat---you won't regret it!! 😄

Adopted Miss Doug last year. She is 14 years young. Love my senior kitty!

Older cats are gentle, peaceful, loving and cuddly. And don't abandon your older cats because they need you most.
Some folks do fall on hard times. It IS the last thing that real cat people wish to do, is give up their cat(s). It is best to first try to find them another home before taking them to a shelter . . .
I love you so much, Gale! You are the sweetest, dearest little creature. 💖💖💖

Number 7, the purring says it all. I love your cat.💞
Love to hear gale purr like crazy😊😊
and he is one very very Happy cat😊😊
Great people to love him..a true cat paradise 😁👍👍👍
and the 2 young tazmaining devils to keep all laughing with their silly but very entertaining antics😂😂😂😂
Gale you awesome most gorgeous lil man in all the land your cuteness has convinced me older is most definitely better. My cat is an older cat I rescued from my neighborhood. Gale you are the best possible kittie to present this video. The love u give ur Daddy is amazing!!! I see lil bad butt Gara had to make an appearance!!! I love the vid and Gale the star!!! I absolutely agree with this vid. Anyway take care all and much love to my fav fam.😘😹😻😹🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾❤💛❤💛

😊🐱
My husband and I adopted an 8.5 year old kitty a few weeks ago, and it was the best decision we ever made. We love her so much and she brings us so much joy. I find myself crying at times because I am so overwhelmed with love for her. Senior cats rock!
Very informative and I pray it helps older cat they need love too. ❤ 🐱🐈
I adopt my sweetiepie when she was 15! My sweetheart!:Xxxxx
Thank you! Bless you!
Such a relaxing and pleasing shots of cats 😍
Senior cats are the best. They're so loving and adorable. The love is endless with them and they make sure you know it every chance they get!
I wish I had a property I could make into a cat sanctuary and then I'd take in all the homeless kitties, young and old. : )
Lynn V I'm with you. God bless you! 😇
You just described heaven.
Id also put some cows and chickens who were saved from the holocaust/slaughter house.
The ginger kitty at the first, makes me want to trim her/his due claws. I promise to be gentle🧡
Older cats truly appreciate the love you give them, I got my tuxedo cat when he was 5 and now that he's 15 he still gets excited for his wet food and the love he didn't get as a kitten. He's the most loyal pet I've ever had!
Always rescued older cats or cats with issues they were all wonderful.
Purr purr, knead knead, red pillow, blanket, rolling in the floor, cuteness beyond measure = Gale(❤)'s trademarks!
(I also loved when the camera switched from the outside to Gale (❤) about to clean himself and he was waiting for the 'Action' command from the director!)
Conclusion: Gale(❤) is the best!
YES! I would love to adopt an older cat. Thanks for this video.
I adopted a 4 1/2 month old kitten, she is super good, a little feisty sometimes but a real sweetheart.
What a great intro to older cats. Boy I miss mine! 18 years of fun.
We always had cats from the animal shelter and it was the best decision ever
I love the idea of adopting older cats. It gives me great satisfaction to know I'm giving an older cat a loving home in it's twilight years and making it's days as happy as possible.
Older cats are usually the last to be adopted and this greatly upsets me. They need love too, more in fact. They will show you a lot of love in return and it makes me so warm inside and is so touching to know I'm giving an older cat a better life and lots of love in it's last years.
we got a mama cat and one of her kittens (from her last litter ever). a couple years later, we got another kitten. the two little ones are bonkers, and mama occasionally joins in their craziness, but mostly she lays on surfaces looking critical of everything. i love them all so much.
i don't think I needed this video to convince me but right now I'm just desperately in need of an older cat
I have two 9-year-old cats that I’ve had since they were kittens, and I can confirm that they have so much love to give and they still play like kittens sometimes. They love to cuddle with you and sleep all day. I’d totally adopt an adult cat if I didn’t already have some.
Agree with all that was stated.Older cats are very settled in their ways & calming.
What a magnificent magestic kitty. 💜
