I've been waiting for this video! That is the rifle my wife has been looking to buy. She LOVES shooting her .22 rifle at 100 yds. and she does very well with it. She is shooting an old Remington 511X I bought in the 1960s. It was used when I bought it. I keep telling her that we could get her an even better rifle...but she has been satisfied. Lately a lot of other shooters have been showing up at the range with these newer rifles...the CZ 457 is a popular one. She was impressed by one guy shooting a CZ 457 who was shooting at 10 meter air rifle bullseye targets, the ones that have 12 bullseyes per target, each just over 1" in diameter. 1.19" to be precise. He was consistently grouping well within the 1.19" black bullseye...under 1" groups from 100 yards! So now she is thinking about the new rifle and we have looked at this one. Christmas is coming. One of my grandchildren is just about the size and age to inherit the Remington, which has at least another 50 years of good shooting in it. That is really a nice looking rifle. Thanks Buffalo. My wife will check out this video also.

2021 05 18 How did I miss this one? My dad gifted my mom an H&R Sportsman SAO top break .22LR 9 shot revolver. It was my first firearm experience at age 9. My big brother who inherited it (darn it!) measured the trigger pull at 1-1/4 lbs. My dad often joked that the only reason he didn't mess around was the way my mom would roll a can with all 9 shots. He lied: they were married for 47 years until death did them part. Good goin', Mrs. Buff! Until it was stolen I had my maternal grandfather's Savage M87. It was a tack driver for a semi auto. Tube mag: if you wanted to shoot shorts you would push the cocking lever into the receiver to stop blowback.

I have two CZ's One is the older Varmet 452 and the other is The Trainer 457 that I picked up a few years ago. Both are outstanding rifles, "You can feel the quality" in a true statement my 452 has had the trigger worked with the roller style kit, I have it drop safe at about 15 oz's of there of, I use it for two hundred yard silhouwette comptitshion and do quite well with it, I have cleaned 40x40 many times and if there was any misses, it was about my marksmanship and not the rifle. There are more than a few uses for this caliber, but more importantly is the fact that it’s maybe one out of 2 or 3 calibers actually available right now in this drought!! Beautiful rifle/scope by the way! It’s really nice to see the Mrs’s down on the range, and I’d bet the farm that she’s an incredible shot. After all, she had a good teacher 😉👍🏽

I have a 452 with a 1 or 2 oz trigger . My trigger pull gage isn't accurate that low . I can barely feel the trigger and I have to close the bolt slowly with the rifle held horizontally . I shoot slightly enlarged .22 holes at 25 yds. 10 shot groups with Eley clubs if I do my part , which is most of the time .I love that trigger !
You got that right! I try to keep all the guns up where she can't reach em. That way I get a little bit of warning if I hear her dragging a chair across the floor!!!

I have a range behind my house and and a shooting bench like that so I'm thinking to myself "I'm hangin with ole Buffalo when it comes to the cool stuff", but then you show Old Glory stamped in to the table at the end of the video..... Time to up my game! lol 🇺🇸 😎 Awesome job on your videos, Brother!!!
Nice to see Mrs. Buffalo shooting. Very nice rifle! If you can find them and can afford them Federal Ultra Match will reduce the group size by 50% of anything I put through my Ruger PCR. Thanks for the video Buffalo!!!
Thank you. I saw that those are available. I am not sure if I want one just yet but I will probably change my mind eventually as the drive to get tighter and tighter groups takes hold!
My cz AT-1 came the same way, canted to one side so bad, I sent it back. They loosened the bedding screws and centered the barrel and sent it back. Said it was a shipping issue. I was embarrassed to say the least. You might try the same and see if it doesn’t come to center. My MTR is on the way.👍
Buffalo's Outdoors I only have 25 yards to shoot safely...optics would be superfluous. I use peep sights. I also didn’t want to cut a dovetail into my CZ barrel, so cut one into a 2’” extension to mount the front globe, using the SR threads. I assembled a rear peep from micro-adjusting airgun sights, to which I adapted a variable aperture. I glued a small bubble level to the sight housing. I get to shoot any time, but I use the CCI Quiet .22’s to avoid making the neighbors cranky.
I hope you found it helpful. The only complaint I have with the rifle is the stock is kinda wonky looking as it aligns with the barrel. I show this near the end of the video. Other than that this one seems to be a great rifle. I only have a sample of one so I can't speak for all of them obviously. Thanks for leaving the comment!
Great groups Buffalo! One thing I like about your MTR over my 457 WMR varmint is the thickness of the forestock where it cradles the barrel. The varmint gets pretty skinny in this region.
Do yourself a favor, take the factory trigger spring off, and stop by at a local Ace Hardware store to get a different spring, just like what I did. I cut the aftermarket one down a little short then the factory one, then stressed it a bit. Huge improvement. The factory spring just too stiff, now my trigger pull is 10 oz. If it too light, cut the spring a little longer and don’t stress it out. Basically you can tinkering with the spring to customize your trigger pull. Only costs me around 30 cents for the spring. YoDave spring kit is $15.00. I’m a cheapskate. Lol! Mine is At One version, not MTR. But surprisingly, we have the same set up, Area419 rail, and Sightron SII scope. But I did get the oversize bolt knob from Area419 too, you will have to heat the original one little bit to break the sealant that they used.
I like bolt action 22’s, but I love semi auto 22’s. 😉 I wished I had a nice bench and a quality rest like yours to see what kind of groups I could get. I’m happy with squirrel sized groups. 😆
I almost got this beauty for 400€ second hand when I heard old timers complain at the range that he got rid off his MTR because it wasn’t better than a old Annie 54 super match. But I do like the wood stock and grip. Hm, hesitated too long and the MTR has a new owner. Stupid me. The SK standard + and SK Magazine is great af ammo. RWS rifle match ( and with red S) and the similar Geco Rifle will perform similar. 1 idea: as you are single shot loading, could you use the CZ single shot adapter ( as I use in my CZ452) ? 1 reply asked about your single shot loading. Yes it makes a difference. We made a trial at the range because many have a 452-455-457. The groups were always better with the CZ single shot adapter because the bullit doesn’t touch the chamber
Buff, a really well done nice review of your rifle - didn't miss a trick and no extra B.S. - just content after the wifey intro. 18 minutes, not too long for what you went over. Solid score - wish I can do as well. I am going to ring the bell on your channel! See Ya when I see Ya.

I will definitely look for some! Thank you for the suggestion!
Great rifle and it looks like a great shooter.
Thanks Jim!
There's a Yo Dave spring for the 457 trigger that you can install to take the trigger down lower.
Thank you. I saw that those are available. I am not sure if I want one just yet but I will probably change my mind eventually as the drive to get tighter and tighter groups takes hold!
Check out the side shot scope cam. It works with your phone. My phone can record at 900 fps so It is super slo mo footage through the scope.
My cz AT-1 came the same way, canted to one side so bad, I sent it back. They loosened the bedding screws and centered the barrel and sent it back. Said it was a shipping issue. I was embarrassed to say the least. You might try the same and see if it doesn’t come to center. My MTR is on the way.👍
Nice rifle Buffalo
Thank you!
Wow!! That is one sweet set up! Great shooting!
Thank you!
Absolutely love mine...got it with the Boyd’s AT-1 stock.._truly a tack-driver..makes me look good.
Very nice!
Love what you did to your bench. USA!!
Thank you! A friend of mine burned that in there!
@@buffalosoutdoors He did a great job! Now i want to buy that rifle. Add to the collection. LOL
Thing is like a laser beam.
Mrs. Buffalo is a good shot too !
Wow that's a beautiful rig Buffalo
Thank you! We sure do like it! I think the wife is gonna take it away from me though!
Down home fun!
That looks like a good weekend shooter I like this this rival it looks like a competition rifle 🤠
We sure are liking it! Thank you!
I’m so glad you’ve made this video. I’ve been really interested in getting one but reviews have been thin on the ground so far.
A little high that day 😂🤣
I say the dumbest things sometimes. I figure am going to start having a little fun with it. 😂
Buffalo's Outdoors i laughed! Fantastic group, btw! That sounded like the steel tube target your buddy made, was it?
@@NoTimeForThatNow You got some good hearing! Yes that was the target. We put it behind the paper to keep from boring a hole into my backstop.
Fine rifle and, as usual, a nice video.
Thank you!
Great groups Buffalo! One thing I like about your MTR over my 457 WMR varmint is the thickness of the forestock where it cradles the barrel. The varmint gets pretty skinny in this region.
Thanks! I appreciate the comment!
That is a cool rifle!!
Whe I received mine I loosened the front screw and adjusted the gaps so they are even. Love mine great shooter😃
Does the 22LR CZ's in 28 inch barrel tend to have better accuracy?
Thanks for the suggestions I will keep them in mind!
Sweet rifle!
so glad i am subscribed to this channel!
I like bolt action 22’s, but I love semi auto 22’s. 😉 I wished I had a nice bench and a quality rest like yours to see what kind of groups I could get. I’m happy with squirrel sized groups. 😆
"Squirrel sized groups" I might have to borrow that line from ya in future videos! I like it!
Buffalo's Outdoors please do.
I have just purchased a CZ457 match like your s . Hope get similar set up for mine. Thanks for the information and videos.
I see what you mean about the stock forend not being centered equally on both sides of the barrel Buffalo, that would shout at me every time!
I love my cz 457 17hmr. It’s great! Accurate! I’m using cci tnt! headshots on squirrels!!
Awesome!
Beautiful rifle! And excellent shooting, as always!
You should try some of the eley match ammo that the cmp sells. It is bulk match practice ammo that shoots very well.
I will give it a look! Thanks for the suggestion!
