The same day that I got obsessed with this song, I was watching a completely unrelated Mavis Staples interview in which Sam Cooke is mentioned. This got me interested in Cooke, and I was reading about his death when I discovered that he was shot in a place called the Hacienda Motel. Complete musical mindfuck, out of pure chance. It's a sign of something... Pickwick rocks!
One of my fav concerts was with about 10 - 15 others in attendance watching in awe as Pickwick put on an insane set. I bought their shirt and got it signed by the whole band. So fucking cool
1st heard this on Jams and Cams on a Philly Cable channel had no idea who they were but heard it again on XPN in Philly a couple weeks later and found out the name of the band and immediately downloaded the whole album. Tremendous
this is such an awesome recording, i've listened to it dozens of times and went to their site and bought it. I've only known about these guys for a few weeks but goddamn. the singer is strait soulfull. you can tell his heart is in his work, and the rhythms are groovy as fuck.
I have to be honest with you! You are the best youtube "user" that have ever exist! I'm from Denmark, so I don't know the most of those bands - also because a lot of those bands arent famous I guess?... Anyways, you kexpradio give me the oppotunity for listening to such awesome and amazing music and different bands! it's unbeliveble! Keep going - there are so fucking many underrated bands out there - kexpradio get them! Keep rockin' and working as always! Thanks! Greetings from Denmark
I saw these guys live in Boise, ID--they're really this good or better in real life. His voice is very much so like the Cold War Kids singer, but technically and aesthetically, I think this guy is more skilled.
It's funny that you say that when this is the one track that they are all singing backups on. This track and "Window Sill" it seems everyone gets a mic.
I heard no voice that was off. There were clashing notes, making that beautiful harmony! Just groovy!! AAHHHHHH!! If anyone was off during this performance, it was me singing with them!
agreed, but it's someone from the other band they have accompanying them. I have seen them live quite a few times and twice with campfire ok, it's only been off when I saw them perform it with the other band. Not sure who it is, but it distracts from an otherwise amazing performance.
@thazzchair Oh fuck. I just watched the Arctic Monkeys performance in the related videos, and the host said it had a bit of a Sam Cooke vibe to it. Is he everywhere now?

KEXP gets so much great musical talent in the studio.
I just stumbled upon these guys randomly. Holy shit these guys can play. Made a fan out of me!
One of my fav concerts was with about 10 - 15 others in attendance watching in awe as Pickwick put on an insane set. I bought their shirt and got it signed by the whole band. So fucking cool
Why these guys are not yet famous and touring the world I will never know.
I love that for this song the band is like 3/4 tambourines.
So glad stations like KEXP are still around. This is great.
Can seriously not get enough of theses guys.
...And the Seattle Sound keeps rolling on...Amen for that!
This video made me come to the realization that we're living in an amazing musical era.
My jaw dropped when the vocalist opened the song up. Amazing.
3 Months this song has been in my head,,, and then I find this version, BETTER than the album. DAMN YOU PICKWICK! All I do is hum this album.
Yeah it drives me crazy. I wish KEXP could sell the live recording.
this song is brilliant!

I saw these guys live in Boise, ID--they're really this good or better in real life. His voice is very much so like the Cold War Kids singer, but technically and aesthetically, I think this guy is more skilled.
I'm blaming the guy on the keys, it's the face that does it for me.
@dweebcentric I believe that is Brad Stemke you are talking about, you see him in a lot of Seattle-area bands.
What's annoying is the most liked comment. This is great.
that guy's got some pipes ...
Exactly what I was thinking
beast
It's funny that you say that when this is the one track that they are all singing backups on. This track and "Window Sill" it seems everyone gets a mic.
How do I become one of the 9 tambourine players? These guys are great.
Anybody know the chords to this?
I heard no voice that was off. There were clashing notes, making that beautiful harmony! Just groovy!! AAHHHHHH!! If anyone was off during this performance, it was me singing with them!
Fresh.
good stuff¡¡¡¡

The KEXP recordings sound better than the album versions.
Split tambourines. I can dig it.

Interesting song!

@dweebcentric Is he the bassist for the Budos Band? He looks kinda like that guy.
awesome song!! they sound a lot like Cold War Kids
You should see them a cappella! (Search Pickwick Suzzallo)
You can definitely hear some Cold War Kids in their style.
fun! makes me wanna move my head :D
I barely understan english...can someone put the lyrics on the video or on a comment please?

@agek94 RIGHT!?
@dweebcentric dude i think he's a backup singer in cloud control.. not for sure though but he looks a lot like him
i hear hang me up to dry completely
i have to take my comment back i only hear it the first time lol
Could you sing this well live on a radio station?
haha yea you have ears my friend the rest of this is sooo good tho! im adding them to my ipod
@Capriciou5 I think he sounds like the Cold War Kids singer
Lol I Agree! I thought I was the only one
Oh cool you're in a band. What instrument do you play... *cough* tambourine *cough*
Jokes aside. Totally love this song and their style.
This sounds like a passable cover of Hang me up to dry.
Que saudade da Oi fm
