This show had such great writing. Even as a kid I could remember finding myself drawn to the language they used. Whoever plays Sam & Max had great chemistry, too. Shame it was cancelled so soon.
One thing I know is that Max is voiced by Robert Tinkler, who voiced the Beyblade character Gingka Hagane and Fish on The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That.
frothydawg41 you know the network wanted to make Max a girl. I’m repulsed, but simultaneously curious as to what a female Max would have been like. Only if they kept His personality.
I love how the instrumental that keeps playing is almost identical to the first few bars of "The End" by The Doors. It's little touches like that that really sell this episode.
Gotta love the fact that they not only reference Apocalypse now , but the making-of documentary ; Hearts of darkness with that classic Brando outtake : " echhk . . . I swallowed a bug . . . "
@@GreenTeaTheTea Ugh, I keep telling these people Sam and Max aren’t gay. The Lord of the Park is an obvious reference to Brando, specifically his role in Francis Ford Coppola’s war classic Apocalypse Now (which this episode obviously is spoofing to some degree). Heck, the line ’I swallowed a bug’ is taken directly from the documentary about the making of that movie.

Why'd this show have to go?
Because the TV Executives keep getting dumber and dumber, and we get crap like Teen Titans Go, Sonic Boom, and the Nick Turtles Show.
It was 1997, "not-necessarily-kids" cartoons weren't mainstream back then.
Phoebe LaRose Not everyone will agree

Kid shows can still say it. They just choose to play it safe so that way there's no chance of them getting in trouble. Disney does it all the time.
