      I feel the same. Everytime we get ready to go out I hope on UA-cam for some ideas and no one has a good video. This is nice! Plenty of organizing videos but not a lot of meal ideas, prep and all that.
      Again, nice to see someone made a video about it!

    Hey guys, Loving your videos.
    I'm a long time camper. 70 years old Gramma now. All ladies camping trip once or twice a year. There is always something new to learn. So here's a heads up for you. I live in the mountains. I go camping on an island up in the Adirondack mountains. And it always amazes me the mistakes that unexperience campers and even experience campers make. I wish I had a picture to share with you. If I did I guarantee you would never store your cook pan in your vehicle again. And no, it was not my vehicle left on the mainland. Well you had mentioned is exactly what one person had done up here. You would not believe his dismay when he had discovered a nice big bear smelled something good that he thought would be safe to put in his vehicle.
    So here's your opportunity to learn in case nobody else had said anything. As you would not store any such thing in your tent or outside your camper, Do not store it in your vehicle.

    • @GloriousDayAdventures
      @GloriousDayAdventures  3 роки тому +2

      Hi! Good information. Thank you for sharing. Are your experiences with black bears or grizzly's? We only have black bear here in Florida. The state parks here tell you to put your food in the vehicle because they don't have bear boxes.

    • @caroljeanscholl7370

      @@GloriousDayAdventures
      Here in Northern New York it's Black Bear..
      What a beautiful silky animal. But a terrible dangerous animal here. And one of our mountain tourist towns black bear gnawed right through the outer wall of a building of a candy store lol. Where I like to camp there's only been a bear on the island that I know of once. It swam across the narrow channel because it smelled food. A camper put some of his food trash in the backseat of his truck. Terrible terrible mistake.
      I burn everything. I can't burn I wash it. And nice big tip about your coolers. Bears know what coolers look like. If you're cool as you're on your campsite, at the end of the night before you go to bed put your coolers as far away as you can and cover them with a dark green tarp. In such a way that nothing resembles a cooler.
      Gosh I love camping. Even winter camping. But that's getting a little rough for this old girl lol..

    One tip for *you* when camping in bear country- dump out that water from your cooking as far away from camp as possible. The smell of food *will* attract critters!
    Also, when hiking in bear country, wear a little bell on your clothes, carry pepper spray and keep an eye out for bear poop. You'll know if it is 🐻💩 because it smells like pepper and will have little bells in it! 😂

    We enjoy your videos, especially those in Florida/Georgia State Parks, as we are from the Tampa Bay area. We curious which model of Runaway you had. We have been looking at slightly used models, and were curious if you did the cool camp, or larger model. Thank you!

      @GloriousDayAdventures  3 роки тому +1

      Hi! We have the smaller 4x8 Cool Camp. It’s the older wood model from 2019. Sometimes I wish we had the larger model but then I remind myself that we only need it for sleeping and it fits best in the garage.

      @@GloriousDayAdventures yup and much cheaper than the boxes of precooked bacon. The reheat process is the same as if you were using a box of precooked bacon.
      At first it was hard for me to want to precook stuff for camping because I love outdoor cooking but I also think it would make the experience less enjoyable if I had to cook everything from its raw state. Prepping and cooking everything outdoors also means much more clean up which is harder and not fun when you’re camping. I’d rather be spending my time enjoying the great outdoors 😀

    Also the fire disc tools are well worth the added expense. I bought the one with holes in it for getting stuff out of the frying oil and the other one is like a freaking shovel so getting the peas out of the cooker is super easy!!

    • @GloriousDayAdventures
      @GloriousDayAdventures  3 роки тому +1

      We actually have both of them as well! We love the shovel but it's loud when camping so we haven't been using it as often. That would make getting the peas out easier though!

    • @GloriousDayAdventures

      We haven't tried Chinese 5 spice. I will have to do that. We actually bring a single cup Keurig with us for coffee. Not roughing it too bad I guess! :)

    If you have a Costco business around you, they usually sell the condiments packages. The con is that they come in huge boxes so itll take a while to go through them

    Do you think the bears can smell the stuff you scraped onto the ground. After a few meals I would think it would attract raccoons, bears etc.

    just to pass on a tip i leaned from my dad he would take bricks and put them in the old chest freezer and freeze them and then load them in the small refrigerator of truck camper to pre cool it and them unload them put next to the wood shed till the next road trip and go to the ice house and get a 5 lb block of ice that was use to cool the refrigerator , o the time stamp is 1967 and the old ways still work today just saying

      No, we haven't but I don't see why you couldn't. We usually just use K-Cups or individual instant packs (for primitive) since it's just Joel drinking it. Easy and less mess.
