Man, when he said, 'If I do [catch a Halibut], this one's for you, dad', and silently paused staring off into the distant water, that really hit home and got me emotional. My dad passed away 10 years ago just after I finished High School. He loved eating fish and seafood, I always wished that we could have gone fishing together but we never got that chance to share that experience together before he passed away. I'm glad you shared that fishing connection with your dad and could share that experience with him. I hope to one day go fishing with my future kids and share that connection and experience with them. RIP your father, brother.

Great video. Been a subscriber for a little while. Not a really long time. But awhile. I lost my dad on December 7th 2019 from sudden cardiac arrest. He was amazing. He taught me how to fish (grew up in WA) and go crabbing. I live in TX now (since 1994) and would go back every summer to visit. He and I would go fishing and crabbing. When I had my daughter, she started going. And then my husband, who grew up in Texas, my dad taught him and his daughter how to fish. I miss my dad with every breath I take. Every time I head to the water out here to fish, I take something of his with me. I know he is in heaven. It just makes me feel better. Love your channel. Stay safe and God bless.

With my Dad gone at a young age my Mom was the one to take me and my 3 siblings fishing and camping all along the East Coast. She taught us priceless other things, but most of all the unconditional love of a parent. My husbands parents are like my own parents so I'm very lucky.
You'll always miss your Dad Matts, but I know he'd be proud of you and all that you've accomplished.

My Mom and Dad took me fishing nearly every weekend during the summer and fall when I was a kid. They gave me a love of fishing and the outdoors. I miss them so much and wish they were still around to see my kids enjoy fishing and the outdoors. You and I still have good memories of good loving parents sowing good seeds into our lives.

Thanks for sharing something so personal with all of us. I lost my mother on 01/01/2020. It definitely hasn't been easy, and I can empathize with the healing you've been going through. I'm finally starting to feel the slightest bit of normalcy returning to my life, and I'm glad to see you're making progress in your own healing. You're accomplishing great things and we all know he'd be fucking proud. Thanks for all the content (it's helped me a ton these last few months). You're the man.

Youre one of my favorite youtubers because of the wholesome humble content. You inspire and teach others to do so much more than we believe were capable of doing! Keep going guy!
