My friend...I'm 82 years old and..to use a Yong person's speak...man you nailed this..I' remember such a night when I was just so..under the blankets listening to music from my days... feeling safe, loved and knowing that whatever happened I was safe and huddled, warm and cosy. My mam and paps loved me and all was well with the world. Not so now though, now.. the cold of night awaits all of us. No love left in the world anymore...thank you shar8ng this...thank you young sir.

As a five-year-old, I used to make blanket tents during cold winters, crawl inside with a book to read and a hot water bottle to keep my feet warm (our house was really cold), and I would be the happiest kid! I did it every evening and it was my happy place. I miss doing it sometimes now, but I don't remember how I used to make the blankets hold their tent shape!

Thinking about how my grandma (b. 1944) might have gone to bed hearing something like this this as a little girl makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
I'm imagining it's the mid 30s and my parents are throwing a party. I can almost smell the overpowering smell of cigarette smoke and cheap booze. Everyone is just standing around and talking, with the exception of that man who passed out on the sofa from too many whiskey sodas. Naturally somebody had spilled some wine on the carpet and nobody noticed. The cats went into hiding, and it's getting late.

Reminds me of The Shining 🤕but in a good way. And when I hear the voices in the foreground it really does feel like I’m listening to a room full of people. Kind of comforting.
Just remember that if your daughters don't much like the hotel you're staying in, and are being willful, and ummm, rather "naughty", if I may be so bold, you must "correct" them, and correct your wife if she tries to interfere. They musn't be allowed to bring an outside party into this situation.

There's something so comforting about the oldies:
A simple picture, painting or drawing, an old cartoon movie, music, and styled places send a shiver of comfort and nostalgia down my spine and I wasn't even born in those days!

I don’t know what it is about old school oldies music that makes me feel darn nostalgic (I was born in the mid 90s), but this kind of music is great to listen to🎵

Here recrntly i have found other videos, including your train videos, and i think a unique concept would be to do oldies playing in a speaker at a train station. I was a naughty kid always trying to stop up as late as possible - and yes, there was at least on one occasion that I stuck a flashlight underneath a blanket reading at night and then when my parents came by, I pretended I had fallen asleep and even feigned some snoring! I must have been 5-6 years old. Forever a night owl!
When ‘naughty’ was staying up late to read 🤭many kids now just practically attack their parents when they don’t get their way, children used to be so innocent….
This is me and my two younger sisters when we were kids during the late 90’s, early 2000’s. Parents would go to sleep, sisters would sneak into my bedroom and we’d build a ‘library’ of chairs, bedsheets and pillows, and spend a few hours reading to one another. We had torches we’d attach to the sheets overhead using clothes pegs. It was amazing, and I’d give anything to do that one more time with them.
Oh, so beautiful, it leads to a simpler and smoother time. peace in this fickle and frantic world.
We made a blanket fort
Me and my sis
And shuffling cards
Riffled from the kitchen
While mom and dad
Played their game
And we kids
Did the same
Everything beautiful. It's our duty to make (or help making) this kind of memories for our kids today :) Simple things, love and reading, nothing else is necesary.
I wish there were channels that did this exact thing but with 80's-2000's grunge/rock music. Can't find any like it and it's that perfect childhood memory for a restful night.
