Are these robots completely autonomous, or are there people controlling them? And are there any videos expelling how they work? This is awesome, it reminds me of an old Playstation game called Carnage Heart.

There are people controlling the m, but you also need to program them and modify them physically(install a shield for example) to make them stronger. In matches like this, they need to adjust robots between every matches to counter their opponent. It's like league of legend or overwatch, but with hacking being legal.

Im so confused which is the start of this tournament? What do the different groups represent? What does b05 stand for and why is there no b04 or b01?

"BO5" => best of 5 matches :)
Teams are assigned to groups by random draw, and play round robin in their groups to qualify for the elimination tournament.
