I always thought there would be some way to rush to the Rescue Staff by Turn 5 and actually use it on Zephiel, but since no one ever brought it up, I just figured I was being an ambitious piece of shit.
Luigiofthegods lol the first few times I tried this level on hector mode. he literally died at turn 4-5 because jaffar couldn't survive for 2 turns which allowed the enemy units quickly advance up and Kill him.
Yeah, as soon as I saw the Rescue Spell in WLE12, I immediately thought of that strategy. Definitely helps a lot. On a side note, I do think your Patreon could use some work. Not to hate on you or anything, but right now, nobody has any real reason to be one of your Patreons besides loyalty and the $500 milestone. If you're not going to take suggestions/requests, my suggestion would be to let Patreons who donate more money (I think $5 should be plenty) get a sneak preview of your latest videos. Again, I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just making some suggestions, and I hope you take them into consideration.
Things like this chapter are the reasons I abuse save (State) scumming in the GBA Fire Emblem games. I feel no shame for that. Also because I have the obsession to level up everyone in my party to promoted units. Yes, even the lvl 1 girl in the desert chapter (I don't remember her name) in The Binding Blade. By the way Git, will you make a video about the newest FE games? Just curious.
Well, as I said I have zero problem using savestates. I just fed her some deaths (She gains 50 exp with each one) and by the time the chapter ended she was a dozen levels higher and surprisingly competent. I tend to not use already promoted units and instead focus on the units with more room for leveling. Which sadly makes said already promoted units not named Jaffar kind of useless in the late game for me. No loads in my army! Also it is really satisfying to see these weaklings turn into powerful champions.
+Boarbaque I did, actually. 25 turns are more than enough. It helps I finished off two of the bosses (One of the berserkers and the final boss) with her. To be fair I haven't played it on hard mode.
What about that one fight from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon where you had to fight Darkrai's crew without letting a stupidly weak Cresselia die? It's essentially the exact same as the chapter mentioned in this video.
Blizzaria is best Yo-Kai If you fill your whole inventory with reviver seeds, there's no way you can lose. You can grind reviver seeds right before going in the dark crater, it's just tedious.
Maybe this is just nostalgia talking, but I actually think that part's actually well designed (going on the assumption that it's *supposed* to be stupidly hard). To me, it seems like the challenge is supposed to come from a constant disadvantage that you are supposed to overcome by using every resource you have available, along with the knowledge of when and how to properly use those resources. Then again, I do seem to be the only one who bothers with the exclusive-items and gummis. Which I don't really understand, considering how broken most of those things are. I mean, an *infinite light screen* for Vulpix and Ninetails just for having an item in your inventory? Who thought *that* would be balanced? I'm also the guy who thinks Primal Dialga is the most overrated boss in existence because of it's cheapass "Roar of Time" and the fact that it's a "Party v. One kinda stronger enemy" fight, which, in my opinion, doesn't really work that well for the MD series. Yet Chunspike seems to keep doing that in non-"Shiren the Wanderer" MD games for some reason... I mean, they kinda did it with EMD's final boss, but they made the actual main boss sit in one place and not even attack for about 5/8ths or so of the fight. And even when they do attack, they only use regular attacks and an attack that's about as strong as their regular attack.
Nothing against her voice actress per se, at least from what I remember of the trailers, I haven't played Heroes, but I always pictured her sounding more like a femme fatale
The side chapter after this one has been the bane of my existence for over a year as even on the normal setting for Eliwood I can't beat it due to the stupid bolting users
I literally just played this level on Eliwood normal mode, only one casualty first try. The only thing that got me was that Ursula was on the left instead of the right, also when I saved Jaffar his killing edge had 1 more use lol. rip Legault you will be missed
I hated this level on hector mode. idk why but stupid RNG always made jaffar die at turn 2 and the prince died like at turn 4 or 5 which gave me no chance to even get close (and it was on normal mode) and it gets even worst as this little prince is the villain of Fe6 and the one who killed lord hector ;(
My strategy for Battle Before Dawn (and the reason I love it so much) is to send Lyn, Priscilla and someone else to the right, and send everyone else to the left, as the most dangerous enemies are on the left. I also bring Pent and Louise since, at base, Pent can reach the throne room with a Physic staff (once, I had Zephiel actually be smart and move into the one spot where I could save his sorry ass). Lyn, Priscilla and whoever else I send are usually able to recruit Nino at around turn 3 or 4, then I have Nino, Priscilla and Lyn meet up with the rest of my party, and send the other unit to kill Ursula. I have Nino kill the pre-promotes (after giving her Afa's Drops) with her Elfire (I make absolutely sure that she is out of range of anything, or swap to a Fire or Thunder tome). The rest of the party just dispatch with everything else and I make sure to get the Delphi Shield (the rest of the items I could care less about).
I am halfway through the game, and just as I was starting to worry about this chapter, you publish this video. THANK YOU. BTW: how do you recruit Pent?
well my strategy isn't particularly special, I just divide my party into 2 groups and try to keep the same kind of units in each one, for example: Kent to the left, Sain to the right, Erk to the left, Canas to the right, etc. As for the chests I send Matthew/Legault towards one side whilst someone else goes with some chest keys to the other, obviously Hector to the right to get to Nino asap, and that's it, Jaffar can survive since he has elixirs and Ursula is in the other corner in HHM so...yeah. And Zephiel starts to get attacked by the time I reach him so I usually don't have problems. Recruiting Jaffar in Eliwood's tale is kinda harder since Ursula is pretty close to him in my opinion.
Exactly. This is also the kind of strategy I use for this particular chapter, regardless of which story/mode. Extra tip, built support among characters as early as possible. Those supports are really helpful. Tbh, this chapter isn't that worse. Imo there are other chapter far more worse than this one, like that Sophia desert chapter in Binding Blade. I say that one is a total nightmare (unless you don't care about getting true ending).

You know what I think is the worst level in FE7? The tutorial you can't skip when you're playing it for first time. NO STRATEGY OF ANY KIND CAN MAKE IT BETTER!
it isn't if you've never played FE before.Like you'd not learn about the weapon triangle, about certain units and about many other things like trading, rescuing etc.If you knew nothing about this you'd probably just get frustrated and move on to a different game.
The thing is that this was the first FE outside of japan, and so noone had played it before.Besides the story is decent,it's a nice setup for the next part and altough it's basically scripted, you still do get to play through the chapters yourself.
Mr. Git, Shouldn't you also mention that Bolting only has five uses. Just send someone with high resistance (Canas, for instance, since he has an magic triangle advantage) into her Bolting range. Alternatively, use Pent and counter her with a Bolting tome of your own ( You can find one from ch24 Linus edition).
She can do pretty well, but is mega outclassed by Reinhardt. She can kick some serious butt with Blárblade on Horse Emblem, or she can be an anti-cavalry with Blárwolf. Overall, good, but not great.
Well I have a Zephiel with 69 HP, Wary Fighter 3 (neither him or his enemy can double attack if his HP are above 50%, except they use brave weapons or are called Reinhardt or Olwen) and Revenge as the special skill. Also he is together with female Corrin.
So,i play this Mission in Normal Eliwood Mode...and its hard. I restart the mission like 7 times for 2 reasons: Or Jaffar die,or one of mi units die (And i try to finish the game without dead units). Saving Jaffar really whort it,the Silence Skill is so Broken, even Generals with high defense die in a hit.

That all changed when I threw Luna at my problems
The Guy Formerly Known as Guy I leveled Wallace in Lyn Hard Mode to promote him at level 20. I suffered a lot in HNM. I can't see myself doing this to take on HHM!
Yeah, FE7 Marcus's growths aren't great, but like I said he can basically just coast on his bases. I always saw his FE7 incarnation as an Oifey, just not as monstrous as Seth or FE9 Titania.
I think you can use any other staffer, but Pent's the easiest cause he starts out with A rank staves and high magic that can allow him to use staves with amazing range at base.
Love the fe video but for the love of god on your next run don't use the pre promoted units they suck up to much xp and don't have the potential of the others characters
ICREEPWENUSLEEP That's anything but true, fe7 is a relatively easy game and by not worrying about grinding up too many units, it's easier to cheese maps and not fall behind, he's actually got quite a good team
yes but it looks like he is using 4 maybe 5 units that are pre promoted not that its impossible to beat the game that way but he is struggling not to mention how much cringed happened when Matthew used a torch
ICREEPWENUSLEEP Mathew of legault should always use torches, thieves do have higher fog vision, but since torch multiplies vision and thieves have a higher base vision, meaning thieves are the best users of torches
I've never understood why some people always respond to using torches with thieves like it's terrible thing to do. As Edward says, it increases their already higher line-of-sight during Fog of War.
But why use a shitty growth unit like Nino with poor availability and terrible bases when I already have Pent who joins earlier and is strong enough for endgame out of the box? Or in the case of Marcus, he actually has good enough base stats to stay relevant even in the endgame as long as he gets a few level ups in Strength and Speed. Base stats are far more important than growth rates. Hell, I barely use any growth units in FE7 that aren't the Lords, Kent, Sain, Florina, and Raven (and sometimes Guy when I'm not playing HHM) because the pre-promotes tend to outclass most of the growth units in FE7.
Apparently, they're really good in the game. They come at higher bases and generally have growths that aren't too restricting. In HHM, they are more or less essential to making it to the end.
SFG- I didn't think it was too hard either, you just gotta pay attention and don't take the chances you would on the other modes. The extra challenge is great!
Please don't believe the misconception that Jagens/Oifeys are wastes of EXP. Sure, FE1/3 Jagen is a waste, but the other Jagens/Oifeys start out with really good base stats, and FE7 Marcus especially starts out with good enough base stats that he doesn't need to grow much to stay relevant. Hell, even FE6 Marcus is worth using for a while, and is essential in Hard Mode early on because the enemies in the early game are so much stronger than your growth units. Also, keeping the Jagen/Oifey in your party means you have 1 less unit that needs experience to grow, whereas not having them is detrimental because you now have 1 more unit that needs a kill to gain experience that could have gone to a unit that needed it more.
You should use Marcus more. He's one of the best units in the early game of FE 6 and possibly the strongest unit in FE 7. Only an LHM crested Sain can compete and even then, Sain has competition for that crest with Kent and his bases aren't nearly as good as Marcus'.
If you like using Marcus and get good results, fine. No skin off my nose. Maybe we have different priorities. But let me explain why some of us don't like using him. In the long term, on average, all three potential Paladins will outperform Marcus in HP, Speed, and Defense when they are promoted from Lv 20; only Kent will have less Luck; only Lowen will have less Strength; and Kent will have more Skill. The only areas where Marcus beats them at the same level are Resistance (only slightly) and axe weapon level. The whole idea of "saving experience by having one less unit that needs it" requires you to avoid getting kills with him, which makes him difficult to use at all until about mid game. By then, I'm starting to promote characters, and those characters I'm promoting are generally better than Marcus in most every way. They no longer need Marcus to weaken enemies before they can get those kills, so I don't see any reason to keep using him anymore.
I fucking died when Hector said "Intense pain helps me grow"

Can you pretty please do a Danganronpa video
more people need to know about that game
Lmao, I need to find a way to play this Fire Emblem, how can I be using Ursula in heroes when I can't even rep the game she's from!
Why Pent specifically?
Proto L he has the best staves
Proto L lvl a staves
Hell, I barely use any growth units in FE7 that aren't the Lords, Kent, Sain, Florina, and Raven (and sometimes Guy when I'm not playing HHM) because the pre-promotes tend to outclass most of the growth units in FE7.
why are you using so many pre promotes
Spencer Shilling What's wrong with them?
Because it is actually efficient to use them on Hector Hard Mode
Apparently, they're really good in the game. They come at higher bases and generally have growths that aren't too restricting. In HHM, they are more or less essential to making it to the end.
Why does everyone think HHM is hard? Yeah, it's harder with more limited exp and stronger enemies but i've never had a huge problem with it
SFG- I didn't think it was too hard either, you just gotta pay attention and don't take the chances you would on the other modes. The extra challenge is great!

why I arena grind
The fact that you actually use Marcus even though it's a total EXP waste physically discomforts me
Please don't believe the misconception that Jagens/Oifeys are wastes of EXP.
He just doesn't get as much experience as any other unit for a long time, so it feels like too much of a waste to even consider
That's why you feed him boss kills and let your growth units take out the scrubs
