Here's Lilit Mardiyan playing Enrique Granados' Valses Poeticos on a great 2016 Manuel Contreras N-2 spruce and Ziricote classical guitar. Recorded at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA.

Diligently played total mastery of the resources of the instrument. A wonderfully responsive instrument which the player is obviously more than gifted to extract resulting in a very gratifying melodious execution.
I own a Manuel Contreras guitar built in 1968 concert model scale length 664 mm , this guitar is far superior to any other guitar.
Brava Maestra, beautiful performance of an extremely challenging piece! Appears the Contreras guitar seems to have a mind of its own with tuning issues. Your reported experience with Maestro Kanengiser intrigues me. I was lucky enough to study with one of his classmates from UCSD in the 1990's. Yup- got drilled with the Romero pedagogy, including Sor, Giuliani, Carcassi etudes. My teacher and I used to discuss what pieces worked for solo guitar- think it's fair to say some pieces like the first part of Valses Poeticos are almost impossible to play given the need to create an illusion of continuity, sustain, through good technical execution. Have a special place in my heart for Armenia- my wife and I have hosted US State Dept Armenian Professional Fellows at our home and my wife was an outbound Fellow to Armenia working with persons with disabilities. We've also met with high school students on yearly exchange- wonderful people and culture. Thanks again Maestra and GSI!!!
Absolutely magnificent and inspirational, and I'm a Bass player! Wish I could get my hands to move like that. You definitely practiced this piece over and over to the point you lived the piece, instead of playing it. Magnificent job, Lilit.

sound a bit out of tune...on the actual tuning on this guitar? why guitarist never check the tuning before playing?
this guitar has a serious tuning issue in almost every position which is a shame
