I love watching the channel it always reminds me to check on my starting ant colony. they have around 15 to 30 workers at the moment and they are "hibernating" because of the winter I cant wait for them to wake up and feed for the first time this year. Keep up the awesome videos I love seeing the beasties you keep. I used to have a mature female jumping spider she was my baby always makes me happy to see the vids especially when you show the beautiful spiders you have.

Hello Dave and Camera Lady! So good to see you! The room is looking amazing! I am so impressed with the organisation. You know I love the glass enclosures, but the cereal boxes make for a very neat looking shelf. I can just imagine what lovely things you will do with the larger space! Thank you so much for showing the emerald roaches. Such amazingly beautiful creatures. They are funny in their sparkly, tumbly way. I am loving the new Beastie room. Y’all have a marvellous mid week and take care. See you this weekend!😴🥱💤🛌❤️❤️🤠

I kind of have the opposite experience. When my spiders were out and about in a small enclosure, they are usually unhappy with the small space and look for a new place to stay. When they’re happy they’re staying in their burrows and don’t have the need to venture out, because their food will walk right in front of their door.
I moved all my girls to larger cubes, and they seem much more content. 😅

Could the issue with so many of the ones being out in the cereal containers is that the containers are reducing a specific spectrum of light? If thats the case then maybe look into trying to find window film that you can apply to the larger glass enclosures to encourge those ones to come out more often.

With the humidity control one issue I’ve had in my large set ups is fungus gnats. I’ve had a massive explosion recently and I’m really struggling to eradicate them. I’ve used surgical tape over ventilation holes, I’ve set up apple cider vinegar traps and sticky traps. I’ve ordered some mosquito bits as my last resort but wondered if anybody has any sure fire ways of dispatching them all. I’ve got a 3ftx1ft communal millipede enclosure about half full of organic deadwood substrate and I really don’t want to be throwing that way if I can help it as was very expensive in the quantity I had to order

I don't think their eyesight is good enough to see them, tarantulas mostly rely on sensing vibrations for navigation and hunting etc. Since spiders are cannibalistic, not having anything to block between their enclosures would lead to the same thing if they were able to see each other. My jumping spider will stare at each other or other spiders if I don't block their view, but I never had an issue with my tarantulas because they can't see much especially that far and through the enclosures
