Making a dumb electric blanket smart

It's the time of the year where the temperature is starting to head to below freezing, so the perfect time to add a little smartness to my dumb electric blanket.
I already have a lot of sonoff switches (not zigbee) with the affordable prices and good app functionality, it's a no brainer for me to stick with it.
In the video i show how to build a scene that takes account of the external temperature to automatically decide if it's cold enough for the blanket to be turned on as well as other options for basic timing and scheduling.
This will only work with a dumb type electric blanket, if yours has a standby button which you press to heat up, it will not work with a smart plug.
Manual slider switches like the one in the links will work fine.

If you don't want to use the external temp check then no need to use a temp sensor, the smart plug can still be used for basic scheduling and alexa / google control
